As stated before, Mai makes good use of K-Groove. Rock is a pretty solid choice here as well, and if you really want to hit hard, try using K-Haohmaru (he’s a bit rougher to use, since all of his moves seem to have horrible recovery).
^^ Generally with K groove, you just want 3 strong characters. However, you may want to think about “counter charactering”. If there are any characters that you think will give you problems you might want to try to pick a good counter character for them.
For example, you may want to make sure that you have someone how can handle Vega/Claw. Blanka’s pretty good at that, but he’ll need to run in the front for that match. So having a good middle character will be important. If you want a good openning character and have Blanka in the middle, then someone like Akuma, Rock, Guile, or even Nakoruru would probably be good. (Nak supposedly does well against Vega).
Otherwise Cammy is always a good K character, CBS is good in any groove.
have you considered cammy? not a lot of people are daring enough to play k cammy, blanka, sagat r2. i think you might be a real innovator if you can make it work. :wgrin:

If vega gives eagle a hard time, i sure haven’t noticed. I purposely pick Eagle vs A-Vega’s because it’s a free match for me. Probably one of, if not, my favorite match. Low strong beats so much of vegas shit. One hit and you turtle up. Jump ins are all taken care of by low fierce, you just have to react fast enough. Shouldn’t be hard, it’s only low fierce. If Vega starts baiting you to do laggy pokes…well, don’t? It’s mostly a turtle match once you get a hit, but Eagle’s pokes shut vega out pretty bad.
I played A Eagle at Evo East with much success. Just barely missed top 8, losing my top 8 qualifying matches to both Jwong in winners (barely losing) and Nestor in losers.
K-Akuma/Rock/Blanka r2 is a very good and solid team.
What’s the consensus on K-Mai/Blanka/Sagat?

Heh, I like Cammy but I don’t like Blanka and Sagat too much. I like to rushdown and have faster characters.
Right now, I’m playing C/N - Ken, Chun, Cammy R2. For K, I like to play K- Ken, Hibiki, Cammy R2.
My teams probably aren’t the most balanced in terms of matchups, but meh, it’s fun for me to play those teams. Buktooth does make me want to pick up Morrigan though. His Morrigan looks scary!
What does Buktooth play that doesn’t look scary? Everything I know about Rock I learned from his ghetto tutorial on youtube.

it’s more than likely that i’m wrong, but I mean, I don’t have as much trouble against Vega when I use my Eagle than say, when i use my Sagat. A groove Sagat, that is.
Just a heads up, i know you use K groove, but i honestly think Eagle needs RC Lariat to deal with when vega is too close to be low fierced out of the air. When he crosses up, you need that to deal with it. Otherwise, Eagle gets crossed up all day for free.
Edit- actually just thought of it, you could always jump back strong on reaction, you know, without RCs. That’s easy too.

I think Viscant is one of the people who has reasoning for why Eagle vs Vega/Claw is a better fight for Eagle than most (meaning Eagle doesn’t counter, but he does better than most of the other characters against Vega/Claw)
No…Vega beats Eagle pretty soundly. Eagle has a few moves that counter hit Vega’s pokes but it’s not like you can just throw them out there. Any whiff = free punish and that doesn’t necessarily go both ways. I might have said that he does better than most but most characters (and pretty much every character I play but Nako) get beaten solidly by A-Vega. He’s just tough to match up with in this game.
