I think the thing about C-Mai is that she just isn’t as good as N-Mai. Both get Roll and thus RC’s, but I think she works better with run than with dash. She really doesn’t need level 2 cancels, and can just pop a stock in N to get 20% more damage, guard break, and a level 3 super. The only thing C really gives her is Air Block, but I think she is so offensive that she doesn’t need it or could simply use an air dive to get around stuff.
K-Mai is a whole nother story, but strong. That’s why I think everyone talks about N & K Mai. Not much talk about S or A Mai either, doesn’t mean they are bad, even though they could be.
Says the know it all scrub? Isn’t this the same person always on here offering all sorts of advice calling other people know it alls? I’m not a know it all, but as far as CvS2 goes, kid, you’re outclassed. Know your role and take a seat, boy.
Coming from a guy that could spew frame data out his ass, but you asking him to do a low forward xx super with anyone, and it’s gonna take an hour.
PS - regardless of life, your yama was still the whole screen away with no pressure on you.
Other than that, K mai is very good. she’s solid, even without RCs, what she gains in damage more than makes up for it. JD’s are also pretty buff.
C-Groove: Guile, Rolento, Kyo… Which should go last as R2 for better matchups against the top tier Rolento or Kyo? Are there any matchups that I should look out for and switch the order for?
Not to mention that it puts a lot of pressure on the opponent if they’re cornered…I know how CCs are with her…AND Nakoruru…very rough…
And yeah, S & P-Groove…just don’t cut it with her…personally, I think that P is the worst for her, then S…nothing really good about either one that she can really utilize…
I use Mai in A-groove. I agree that N-groove is probably her best, followed by K.
In terms of other matchups, I find she does very well against Chun-Li. She can put up a decent fight against Honda, but I think the match is still in Honda’s favor.
True, but Swan’s Ranpango can be easily dodged if Super Jumped over, but I gotta admit, if they start blocking it, there’s no stopping the rest…hehe…and Crimson Firebird Diver…
I started learning Morrigan a couple of days ago, just out of boredom. One more random character to use in casuals. I was messing around with her in training mode and after only a few minutes of practice I was pulling off DI combos with 90% success rate (which is pretty damn good considering my execution sucks). I still need to practice more and learn the exact range for her moves, mix-ups, etc.
The cool thing is that now I can make some interesting variations of Team Worthless Hoes:
N-Mai, Morrigan, Hibiki
or
N-King, Morrigan, Hibiki
For an even shittier variation I could keep King first and replace Hibiki with Terry.
Mid/low tier power FTW.
Looks good to me, but you might want to give Iori a place in your team. N is the best groove for Vice and Mai (arguably; I prefer K for Mai) but Kyo messes people up much better in P or K.
i dont know I think Kyo is pretty dirty in every groove. I’d say the weaklink is Vice only groove I’ve seen her fair well in is A. I just don’t see her making a whole lot of use of the mobility, low jump, or meter. I’d put Mai as battery and then once you decide on a replacement for Vice would determine the order of the other 2. If you take Mik’s advice and try Iori I’d run it Mai, Iori, R2 Kyo
of course i could be completely wrong but this is from what I’ve experienced.
Vice isn’t horrible, she’s average.
Once she gets close she can do good damage; easy BnBs, 2 Command Grabs, Super Grab, RC Sleeves help her midrange game, etc.
But as I said, there are other better N-groove characters (Iori, Chun Li, Ken, Hibiki, Sagat, etc)
Youve never faced a good vice player. Go play chari (c-vice) or there was an a-vice i saw that used her as a R1 last spot (i think, or r2) against a r2 sagat and i think perfected him or took 1 hit. Vice is solid. You’re insane if you think otherwise
