I dont want to use K because I don’t use it properly so I’m between C and N for my team. Guile, Vega, Blanka R2. Basically not sure which benefits the team more airblock or short jumping. I’m leaning towards N since Blanka could then also get alpha movement to get out of some CCs but what do you all think?
C by far. Guile needs AC, airblock, and lvl 2 cancel. Vega can go either way, and Blanka can go either way.
ditto. guile is absolute beast in c-groove.
is c-hibiki worth using?
nope, either A or K-Hibiki then N-Hibiki if your a N-Groover. she probably shouldn’t be used outside of those 3 grooves IMO.
hibiki is good in any groove, including c. she’s a great turtle and stored super is a plus for her. she might be better in other grooves, but that dosn’t mean she can’t be a serious pain in the ass anywhere you put her.
grr, so I’m looking for a new C-Battery. I’ve been using Guile, and like him a lot, but I’m finding he doesn’t do enough damage without using meter.
I’m currently looking at C-Geese, C-Rock, C-Yamazaki, and C-Rugal.
I like Geese’s ability to guard crush and output damage, but he tends to have problems with pixies (I think)
I’m pretty solid with Yama, but have trouble getting in on most characters.
Rock is a character I used when learning, but I’m not 100% on him.
My team is C-???/Sagat-R2-Blanka
I could go back to Guile, but I’m trying to get some more options. Suggestions?
Vega = god tier battery.
My Vega = gets killed by A-Vega
Cammy is always a solid option, although she is definitely better in P and K.
Vega, Guile, Blanka, Cammy, Yamazaki, are all good batteries in C.
EDIT: had forgotten about Honda, he’s a solid battery too.
When I play Guile, I don’t worry too much about doing tons of damage quickly but instead I usually focus on keeping the opponent away and therefore preventing him from causing damage. Pretty boring strategy but it usually works.
I’m not a Yamazaki player but I’d imagine smart use of s.HK & RC Slashes would give trouble to a lot of characters. If you’re solid with Yamazaki I’d say stick with him and work on the match-ups that give you trouble, that would be easier than learning a new character IMO.
Try learning a couple and choose between them and Guile.
I personally think C-Yama is very solid and a good battery. You have to be able to RC well though (Dirt Kick and jab Knife). You need to learn how to jump around with him; that’s mainly where his mixups come from (It’s hard to get this down).
Have you thought about Chun Li or Ken with Blanka as the battery?
I’ve tried Chun a couple of times, both C and N, but she’s really unstable in my hands. I can get the super combo out most of the time, but I don’t really know what to do with her the rest of the time.
I’ve thought about Ken a couple of times, I just don’t have the short short super down yet. I think I’m just doing it too slow still, but yeah he’s back on my mind.
Any thoughts on C-Kim as battery, he’s another I’ve been thinking about.
Oh, and I said I wanted more damage earlier, but what I really want is more Guard Crush plus a little more damage.
This thread is really dumb.
People give advice, and the response almost invariably is “nah… I’m not good with them”, or “well, I can’t really do the combo”.
Shit is dumb. If you were good with the characters/combos or whatever’s being suggested, you wouldn’t need the advice.
Here’s a little tidbit… you’re going to actually have to practice to improve. :wow:
People are always giving out decent advice, but the people asking for it are too lazy to implement it.
This isn’t just directed at the latest guy asking for advice. Shit is littered throughout this entire thread (and most of this forum).
correct beyond belief. it takes work and a desire to be good. it’s not supposed to be free. good shit havoc.
Hmm… your words keep echoing in my head. We do “go in circles” in this thread - regurgitating the same conventional wisdom to new players over and over.
I think everyone’s still here though, because we love to talk about cvs2.
Maybe we just need a different thread/outlet with a wider scope than just team formation…
2 low shorts, qcf+short, qcf+strong
Easy, works against everybody, and you have more than enough time to confirm the combo.
thanks, I just need to make sure that I don’t hold db I think. I might hav e been short-cutting into funky kick, don’t remember
I’ve never had that kind of problem with Funky Kick but with Chun Li that has happened to me many times - I block a laggy move (db), I respond with qcf+MP, qcf+K, but I get a stupid MP Kikouken. Apparently the console version lets you perform special moves even if you’re missing a derection or two. Lame.
You should learn how to do full motions (no 2 -in-1’s) anyway. It will help your game a lot.
