Fuck, let the guy play what he wants. As long as a person has fun. It’s not stubborn, it’s called persistent.
Anybody got links to vids of pinokyo?
hey i’m not hating on the guy, i respect him for trying to be different. reminds me of a guy who plays p-rock, iori, rugal (i think) don’t know if i remember him well but he plays something “original” like.
well first off his name is spelled pinokio, go on youtube and just type “cvs2 pinokio” and vids should pop up of him, he plays k-chun, sagat, cammy.
You tube its spelled Pinokiyo
uh no its not, its pinokio as i said in the post above. pinokiyo will show up nothing on youtube.
hmm my post got deleted in the reset so i’ll ask again.
I’m learning A-Groove but have a money match scheduled and don’t feel confident enough to use A yet so I’m sticking to my powerhouse K team but need a third.
I’m using Balrog/Bison, Bison/Vega… I know its not normal but I actually play fairly well with them. For a third I need someone that can handle pixies, chunli, and blanka somewhat well. I’m not a fan of shotos to much including Sagat. And I’d like to use the same team as my A-Groove team if possible.
So far I’m looking at Yuri, Athena, Todo, Iori, Blanka, Guile, Dhalsim, Geese, Rugal, Maki
Thanks
I think K is actually one of Maki’s best grooves, and she’s definitely a solid character. She’d be a good choice.
Maybe you should try K - Vega, Geese, R2 Blanka.
Logo:
is Maki good against the pixies though since the rest of my team doesn’t fair great against them. and although not stone or anything would she be ok to use as I gradually switch the team from K to A or at that point I’d have to sub her out?
FSgamer:
um… that’s a completely different team… I’m quite happy with my Balrog/Bison, and Bison/Vega(R2). Unless by Vega you meant Vega/Bison in which case the answer is slightly more respectable but still it gets rid of Balrog/Bison - instead of Blanka and Geese how bout you suggest which of the 2 would fit better for what I need (a pixie killer) what’s your suggestion if that is your suggestion.
I don’t really play much Maki, so I’m no expert, but she seems to have plenty of tools to deal with pixies. Cammy’s an unfavorable matchup, but other than that she’s good.
As for A, she’s definitely a solid choice there. Her CC is pretty easy, she has some good RCs, and she’s just an overall good A-Groove character. I don’t see her used much, but I have seen some pro Japanese players using her in A, if that helps you make your decision.
you could try balrogs b-f.p charge against small characters at the right length so it whiffs and recover quick enough for a grab set up. besides that i don’t know what you would do against small characters besides going for c.jabs any block string that can hit, i think theres another grab set up with his s.forward, i don’t remember i don’t play rog so much. bison and vega will have difficulty hitting their hot box jumping in against small sprites.
k-rog, blanka, bison r2 since you want at both you players, make blanka r2 if you can play him nicer then your bison.
K-Groove teams
Benimaru,Cammy,r2Iori(R2 switches between cammy and Iori)
Ryu,Hibiki,cammy or Iori for R2
Hibiki,Ken,r2Sagat
Rolento,Kyo,r2Bison
I have more K teams and a shitload of C teams but I can’t think of them off the top of my head. Are my k teams any good?
Ryu, Hibiki, Cammy r2 and Hibiki, Ken, Sagat r2 are good k teams.
K-Ryu not usually recommended but not a bad choice either, I find him decent in K-Groove although he does do better with stock bar.
K-Hibiki I think is her rivaled best groove against A-Hibiki, she has all the good traits of a good character to play except for the fact that 2 bnbs pretty much gets her stunned.
K-Cammy/K-Sagat is no argue or mystery why they are a good choice to play and especially as r2
K-Ken has been a recent new craze and is not underestimated either. I myself find him quite fun to play.
K-Iori I have not seen in play but I have heard he is more of a turtle type character
K-Rolento fuck his small jumping strong
K-Kyo a good character to pick up, gay upkicks with followed up damage for half their life ftw
K-Bison too basic and predictable, jumping at or being jumped at by bison is just not scary.
Iori isn’t so hot in grooves without roll. For the first 2 teams I’d put Iori as either first or second, then put either Hibiki or Cammy as anchor.
The third team looks pretty solid, both Hibiki & Sagat could be used as anchor but IMO you can use this team in pretty much any order depending on match-ups.
For the last team, I’d put Kyo as anchor. Bison would need to have a charge ready to do big damage while Kyo can JD > combo into Up Kicks > lvl 3 super.
Thanks for the suggestion.
I’ve been running with N-Iori, Cammy, Blanka (R2) recently and it’s been working out great.
I had a really random idea. Its probably because its so early in the morning.
Have R2 Kyo lead off. Thats right, not in the middle, or at the end, but to lead off. He’s such a start off character. Having him as a R2 facing a R1 will kill off the 2nd character with his one long super combo.
From there pick safe characters like Cammy or Sagat. They can still do the job if Kyo flubs.
^^^ I’ve only seen a couple of R2 starter teams do well. It would probably work, assume your talking about a K groove team. I wouldn’t recommend it for C or N, P maybe, but P takes so long to build meter.
The one team I’ve seen this work well with is A R2-Blanka/Sakura/Bison. Blanka just beasts normal on the first guys and kills the second with a custom, then fights like it’s anchor v anchor against the last guy.
Sagat is a monster…
heck i get nervous in tournies so i pick c groove
A-bison, blanka, and sakura
N- iori,kyo, balrog
K- akuma (risky),kyosuke,guile
S- kim, yun, and yuri
i never see P groove mentioned…lol
Testuye>> You can watch this strat being used by Uma. Very effective indeed!
^^^ yeah, I’m just saying that it feels like it works with an A-Blanka team better than any other team. But Desoro plays R4-Raiden, so anything is possible with the right amount of skill.
