Cvs2 team formation: discussion/suggestions, etc

I’ve been trying out new k teams today.I’m really digging this one
yun,kyo,r2hibiki.
Don’t know why but I like how I play yun k-groove.

Hey could someone explain to me if theres any strat in making your team order? From what I gather from reading is that you should have certain people going first and stuff

Goodness, it’s probably in that “LOOK HERE BEFORE POSTING” thread, but anyways…

C/P/N/A- You want a decently strong character who has good normals and builds meters fast, i.e. Iori for N groove, or Blanka for A.

2nd member you want to be able to use advantage of the super bars.

and 3rd able to use super bar, and can build it.

S/K is basically comfortability, matchups, strength.

Generally it goes like this:

1st - a character who can build meter fast without necessarily having to use it
2nd - whichever character needs meter to cause any decent damage
3rd - a character with good comeback potential

Some characters are good in any position (Blanka, Hibiki, K-Cammy, etc) while others are good only in specific positions. Team order can vary depending on match-ups. Team order can also vary depending on who you’re best or more confortable with.

It’s been hinted at by the last people, but to be complete K and S-groove don’t follow the same team dynamics as the nother grooves.

Since K and S don’t share meter between characters, the team order doesn’t matter as much. Most of the team order will come from comfort and match-ups.

CBS (Cammy/Blanka/Sagat) is a good example of a K groove team where the order, and to a large degree the ratio, doesn’t matter.

Its not in that section, and if it’s to hard to find in there.

So its kind of like marvel, you have a battery character, a character who uses meter and im guessing the last guy is just some guy you can kick ass with?

Well alternatively you could also put your best character first, and even make that character R2, so that you can eliminate your opponent’s R1s. Then, you can turtle it out with your next two R1s and beat him when he decides to be reckless. Again…experimenting with the idea is always the best way…I used to have Sagat as an anchor all the time but sometimes I put him first and it’s quite fun.

I tried that order for my team (experimental^^)
Guile; R2 Rugal, Sagat

Usually i want the rugal to kill the R1 character from any mistake he does. The c.lk*3, lvl1 Genocide cutter does big damage on a r1. When you have bar, landing a combo almost mean death for any r1 character.

Then you have sagat who can deal with many anchors . Not always an easy task of course, but hey it’s Sagat^^

The teams that I mess around with are:

A - Ken, Eagle, Geese (R2)
N - Kim, Iori, Sagat (R2)
N - Ryu, Iori, Sagat (R2)
N - Yamazaki, Iori, Sagat (R2)
N - Kyo, Iori, Sagat (R2)

i’m having trouble finding a third for my n-groove team. right now, i have terry, rock, ken (R2). i’m thinking about dropping rock. any suggestions?

also, i can’t find a good match for my haohmaru and ryu team. suggestions, again, please.

I’m also looking for an anchor to my N - Groove team.

I used to use Iori, Rock, Geese

Dropped Rock and Geese for Chun Li and Hibiki,

Now wanting to drop Hibiki for someone more reliable at the end.

Messing around with Raiden and Joe as the R2…feasible?

By the way, i can’t RC.

Characters i don’t want to use are Sagat, Blanka, Cammy,

I work better with offense and pressure, hence Iori and Chun Li

Bearing all that stuff in mind, any suggestions?

Why drop Hibiki? She’s really good and worth progressing with. If you play safe with her she can be a real cow lol. Just got to turtle a little cos I know you like to play agressively.

For anchor, try Sagat or Hibiki. For user, try Chun Li.

If you don’t want to use Sagat, Blanka, or Cammy, you may want to go back to Geese. He has the offense you are porbably looking for.

Kyo and Yamazaki might also work well, though I don’t see them used as anchor very much.

I think you may be right man, i was thinking of bringing Geese back in. Strangely though, it was never Sagat or Blanka who gave him trouble, but R2 Bison and for some reason, Ken.

ATB - i know what you mean, i’ve been doing a lot better with her recently by turtling and slowing down, but it’s not really my style, and i don’t get enough real competition to get used to it - never face any decent Sagats or Blanka’s except when i’m in London, and by then it’s too late.

I’ve just been thinking about the possibilities of putting Chun Li as the anchor, i’m scared off her lack of stamina though, but at least she has mobility to get out off trouble.

Can she work as anchor?

If so, i could probably put Hibikli second, or even Geese to beef things out a bit.

I anchor Yama.

i thought hibiki had little life?

R2 biki in K isn’t a bad choice imo Sagat can go anywhere.

Even though Hibiki has little life, she can deal with alot of the top tiers easily with little or not problem when played at her best.

anchoring yamazaki is pretty badass.
