Cvs2 team formation: discussion/suggestions, etc

C-Chun is a pretty good choice, c.MP/s.MP into Combo of Death is awesome.

Logos - the biggest problem i see with anchoring Rolento on that team is that hes gonna get ass-raped by a-blanka, and its a tough one against bison too.

Rudemood - the problem with trying to pick between morrigan and akuma, is that they are both really hard to use and very technical, so if you are new to the game, you might want to leave them alone until you get more familiar with it, and then pick one of them up after that.

i found out that terry is alot better in A screw K. C is the best haneds down

forget what i said about k(it the greatest second best groove imo C is #1, the greatest C-ken,guile,sagat[2]) i need a second character for my K team

K- joe
???
blanka

joe is a savage in K and so is blanka

i already have sagat in a team . also i figured out i suck with rock and dont really like him nor cammy, geese, kyo or hibiki. should i use a shoto ryu or gouki

In K, Ryu seems better, since he can take hits and whatnot.

What makes Akuma scary is kara Demon.

Overall, you should use K-Sagat. I als recommend you drop K-Joe. I played K-Joe for a long time, and while he is really fun, he is really weak and doesn’t gain as much from Run and JD.

As for other characters se below:

K-Ken seems to get a lot more play now.
K-Rolento and K-Vega/Claw are also usable, but somewhat random. Vega doesn’t use meter in K as well as in A or C, where he can hand off.
K Gouki is good, but you will need to do Raging Demon to get the most damage.
K-Maki, K-Yamazaki, and K-Raiden are also noteworthy. Each of those characters gains a lot of from JD and Run.

K-Yama will get RAPED by Vegas. Trust me, It takes me FOREVER to deal with one.

you should place sagat in that missing slot, it can help to better your sagat in C-Groove (not the JD part) but instead of depending on rolls to get out of situations, K-Groove will teach you what to use instead for those same situations. Like for example your in the corner with Sagat and Rolento keeps small jumping strong you with correct spacing with the normal poke follow ups, with your C-Sagat you usually roll out of it, with K-Sagat you learn to s.fierce, dp, or something that gets you out of tight situations like that but making you benefit from it by hurting the opponent.

should i use my c team in k for a while to get better cmx
c-ken
gulie
sagat[2]

You can but switch your play back and forth with the grooves, it may get you in the habit of trying to JD when your in C-groove by accident or trying to roll in K-groove, (happens when you begin to learn to switch from different groove play). But after a while you will stop and get it right, its a lot better if you have a friend to play with who can notice things in matches to tell you what you need to work on and what some of your habits are, like you roll too much or none at all, don’t AA enough or too much (too much would imply against A, P, K-groove). If you don’t have a friend to practice with then its going to be a lot harder to figure out what your habits are and such.

Been messing around with Cammy on my N-Groove team of Iori/Blanka.

I noticed I usually see Cammy on P/K Groove, sometimes C. Is it not wise to play Cammy on N? Does she gain no advantages from it?

Cammy is good in any groove, P & K being her best grooves. I don’t see any problem in using her in N, but if you have Blanka & Iori in your team there might be other better choices for that third slot in your team.

Thanks.

Already having Iori/Blanka, should I be looking for a decent/strong lead, or a mid? I usually have Iori-Mid with Blanka finishing up.

iori should be the lead definitley. he builds meter very well.

if you’re gonna stick with cammy, put her 2nd and make blanka the 2

Is Ken worth putting 1st?
If you read my sig my team is C-Ken/Rock/R2-Sagat in that order.

I find it fun building meter for supers w/ Ken.
But is he the kinda char you put 1st? Or do I need to switch him and Rock?

EDIT: My Rock ownz more than my Ken

depends on how better you can catch people with supers with Rock or Ken for turn arounds to get back in the game, besides that switch between the 2 for match ups. figure out who you can clean up better with, that should tell you who should go 1st. But your also running C-groove so you need to consider if you want the better battery 1st or the one who can deal the damage without needing meter.

After playing around with CvS some more, there are a few teams that I like:
C- Cammy, Chun, Sagat/Blanka R2 (I think this is optimal, even though I would rather have Cammy as R2, and not the battery)
C- Guile/Ken, Chun, Cammy R2 (I like cammy at R2 on this team :bgrin:)
K- Rock, Hibiki, Cammy R2 (I want to learn how to use Chun in k, but she kinda needs more unpredictable supers to be effective )

If anybody wants to make some suggestions to make these teams better, I’m totally open.

I think I like K a little better than C, because of run, short hop, and JD, but I wish it had roll. That, and lvl 2 super cancels are the couple of things I like better about C.

I have yet to really mess around too much in the other four grooves, but A is a bit hard for a newbie like me, since I can’t use a gamepad fast enough to do DP CCs. I would like to learn how to use A- Cammy, Sak, Dict though. I need to buy some joysticks first though. There really is no point to my post, other than stating that I have found a few teams that I like. Oh well, at least I posted it in a thread pertaining to team discussion.

Oh, random question, is a funky kick the dpb + k move with Ken? (The move that looks like he just kinda flys through the air kicks people in the head from above)

Chun is not worth it in K-Groove, she needs those level1 super stocks

funky kick is hcf.k

I think the funky kick used by most players is hcf + lk. Each strength gets you a different type of kick, as does holding the buton down.

So I think it is hcf :lk: (press, not hold)

Pinokyo uses K groove chun?.. he is really good with her.:wonder:

it is the short version, sometimes i use the forward version on tall characters, but i only mess around with him, so don’t try the forward version i don’t know how unsafe it is.

yeah i’ve seen his videos but he is missing his obvious goods from C/N-groove, his chun got raped in damage output, the JDs and rage didn’t help much. like his options are too limited to the basics of the basics of chun. no rc legs and 3 lvl 1 stock supers on demand makes chun less scary. i’ll give credit to him that he put a lot of effort into his chun but he could of worked on someone more worth while, people can be stubborn on the characters they choose but you can’t go retardedly ridiculous on certain stubborn character/grooves in competitive play.
