Chun is definitley a good N groove char. Its her best groove. I wouldnt use her has an anchor unless your mago. Hibiki should be your anchor in Ryu/Chun/Hibiki. Morrigan is good too in N but shes hard to make work.
Oh sweet, I had Chunli in mind for quite a bit, since I was messing around with her at 2nd point, and she played very well in it, I’m very glad to hear that she’s the best in N-Groove, this would then complete my group. N-Groove Ryu/Chunli/Hibiki it is then, thanks for the notion, I would try Morrigan, but I don’t really like how she plays so yeah.
Morrigan sucks without meter, ask Buktooth.
I used to use Yun, Guile, Dic, and Sagat in C-Groove, but I’ve really been feeling Maki, Rock, and Ken in K-Groove now. Using Ken without roll sucks, but gaining run and low jump for Maki and Rock is worth it. Funky Kick has been working fine so far. I occasionally throw Ryu in for Ken, since lj. RH over fireballs into DP or sweep owns.
Combofiend plays K-Ken.
Your probably just use to using a rolling groove too much, it took me a while to get use to thinking of what to do without rolls when I play K-Guile on occasions.
I do to, I love run and low jump with Guile. Not having Lvl 2 Total Wipeout’s a bummer, but I zone MUCH better with K-Guile. It’s wierd playing C for so long and then going to K, but I’ll stick it out. I plan to try out N once I get the hang of both.
N - Iori/Todo/Sagat r2
Sexy or no?
I’m not too big on Chun which is why I figure Todo should be ok with the supply of lvl 1’s.
new fun themed team for you homos out there (gene, leezy)
p-kyosuke beni rock = pretty in p
kyosuke gets parry -> launcher, which is really the only way you’re gonna realistically land that thing. good dmg, no meter, good set ups. cgroove kyosuke is still better though
im starting to wonder if beni’s best groove might be p after all. f+mk/f+hk/drill kick/low jump attack -> parry is really good. parry also helps cover up his spotty anti air (without meter). too bad he only gets a sweep after parries for the most part
rock is really good to begin with, and elbow -> parry is fresh. dashing rock is good too
Whew! Thank god I’m not first on the homo list! Good shit, Gene!
my current team is n-kyo, bison, r2 sagat. the problem is with bison. because i’m playing him on N and not A like everyone else is that… people aren’t really afraid of the ability to activate and take out 10k off their life. so i find it’s a lot harder to play bison on N. i still have the ability to rc psycho for anti air… he’s got good run cancels and he combos well of of small jumps. you can catch people well with a small jump forward or rh and with that 2 frame jab he can continue a combo if u hit the jump in a little deep.
that and mix it up a bit with empty small jumps into bnb. i’ve got throw setups and stuff. poke game’s decent. but in the end… i end up losing more with bison than winning.
does anyone have any suggestions of a good way to play him when not on A? like good stuff to do to catch people in combos and whatever. anything would be helpful… thanks.
So does Evil Elvis when his A-groove team gets smashed.
Word? I’ve never seen someone play K-Ken before. I’ma look them up.
Okay, someone is REALLY good, I forgot who mentioned it, but he said that black people play non a-bison.
hahahahaha… i’m not black though
Hey, need some advice. Which of the following do you think I should run as my anchor:
N-Blanka or N-Chun
I’m already working on Sagat, and will use him if I get good enough with him. But I want another option. I’d probably run Blanka, and just keep him in Max mode as much as possible, because I think I can squeeze more damage out of the lightning and stuff.
Let me know if you have another other good ideas (besides Sagat, working on him already)
What’s the rest of your team?
With Blanka, you’re gonna wanna rushdown, guardbreak, and basically control your opponent with RC Electricity and Blanka Ball.
With Chun, you’re gonna wanna poke your enemy out, and look for an opening for your super. A lot more precision goes with Chun, but the payoff is well worth it.
Which is more your style? Unbridled, rushdown-oriented offense, or pinpointed, accurate offense?
The rest of my line-up is somewhat of a Buktooth variant that I’m trying out. Hibiki/Morrigan. I really like both of these characters, and sadly my Hibiki is probably the most effective and useful character (need more practice with other characters).
I see the team as mostly pokes, and some rush down. The reason I like Blanka, is that I know his anti-airs, and am working on using lighting more after knockdowns, and short blanka balls.
I’ve played Chun in 3S, and know a little bit of how to use her. I’d bascially be starting over though, so this is gonna be serious work.
From what you’ve said though, I will probably be better off trying to learn Chun, at least until I’ve gotten better with Sagat.
If I were you, I’d go with Blanka, and learn Chun on the side. She’s definitely worth at least a try, though I find her considerably different than her 3S counterpart, where I think she is hard as Hell to use.
But yeah, learn Chun, try her out, learn her counter-matchups, and compare her to Blanka.
That’s how I came to using K-Rock, and it’s upped my game expontentially.
i would personally anchor chun in n over blanka. N-blanka is still good but he doesn’t do well vs. sagat/a-blanka/p-cammy and those are the characters that most people anchor. It is also very hard to make a comeback with n-blanka.
