Cvs2 team formation: discussion/suggestions, etc

If he fails teaching you short x3 rave super, then ill gladly take on the challenge and the eagle lesson.

This makes sense, but it seems that maybe you could treat the A-Sagat Battery like an N-Chun. Lots of lvl 1 super combos. But I see what you are talking about overall.

I pulled this from the Ongoing Tier thread. Are these the currently accepted ARE’s? I thought A-ARE was Blanka/Sakura/Bison(dic).

i like starting C-sagat first.

you can take so many more risks than you would be too scared to when hes an anchor.

since he comes with extra life, extra power, you can take a lot of gambles with roll super/throw/tiger uppercuts and not having to worry about being punished with a CC/super afterwards since your opponent wont have the meter for such a punisher in the beginning.

and since hes sagat, the worst case scenario is that he takes off half a characters lifebar away before dying.

Sagat just like Sentinel in MvC2, i agree there is an advantage to put him first.

And there is no ‘Sagat only infinite combo’ in CvS2.

hay so how far / how will do you think i can get / i can do with team fatal fury

Terry, joe, mai R2, in that order?

just asking

Joe, Terry, Mai would be better… Terry does much better if he has super, joe can build lots of meter with his fireball game. And Mai has runaway, though not truly anchor damage.

Joe actually can do big damage with his lvl 2 cancel into the 3-dp’s but I don’t know I’d still keep him first. It’s not the best team in the world but it’s viable, and I don’t think anyone straight up counter matches that team, other than just being better characters, but that just my opinion I don’t have alot of experience to pull from on match ups against those three characters.

how’s this team stack up - I know I won’t win tournaments and don’t expect too but just to play casuals and such:
Kyosuke, Geese, Dhalsim R2 - P Groove.

I’m pretty good at zoning with Dhalsim so he’s definately in. Kyosuke I really enjoy using even though I know he’s got some obvious weaknesses. I’m not quite sure on Geese yet because I don’t know him too well. I’m between Geese, Rugal, Kim, Todo, and Rock for that last spot. And I realize that if I go with Geese he should eventually become my R2 over Dhalsim, probably Rugal and Todo also. Maybe even Rock.

What’s gonna be really hard for me with that team?

RyanThe Robot:
If you can abuse that parry with Geese without getting caught stupid for an empty jump follow up throw, and as a R2 he can dish out major punish especially if your one of the few who can pull a raging storm on reaction. Don’t start to learn how to play Geese with the stupid c.jab x3, c.hk xx reppuken like the other nub Geese players, and you can’t crazy jab, rush, and rage mix up/punish since your P-groove. Get good at predicting your opponents attacks for counter set ups into mix ups and mix up your combos or at least just don’t do the combo I mentioned earlier up above all day.

Dhalsim and Kyosuke I don’t play ever so I can’t give you any tips except:

Dhalsim, watch for some of the things Iyo does with him on youtube that works for him most matches he plays.

Kyosuke… good luck with him.

The team I normally have is Cammy, Ken, and either Rock, Geese, or Iori. Once in awhile I use Ryu, Terry, Ryo, or Haohmaru.

The grooves I use are either C or K groove.

I forgot to mention it’s in K groove.

I’m going to rock that at the next tournament.

team mexico??

Oh not this again…

In b4 “es bueno :encore:”

si???

no, that’d be iori, ryo, terry.

dummy

i heard chibi sucks in cvs2

you bored at work too?

:wgrin:

The main problem with you “Hola compadres” team is A-groove AND Sagat. Terry and Joe Cannot duck Sagat s.lp, and Sak Qcb+MK, and they don’t benefit at all from being Raged /JD. Mai is hella good in that groove, however. You choices are (IMO):

1-) Switch to A-Groove and use Everyone, as KabukiMono suggested.
2-) Switch Terry or Joe for a Good K R2 character. Start w/ Mai and low jump RH/empty jump/throw all day.
3-) Switch BOTH Terry and Joe and use two good K Characters. I recomend you this, if you want to improve your chances to win.

Good Luck anyways…

why is Walter on this side of the world?
he should be at 3s land

I play N-Groove, and I doubt I’ll switch over to A-Groove although I do infinitely better, but 95% of the players I play with play A-Groove so yeah…N-Groove gets my love because I like the ability to run…anyways.

I play Ryu and Hibiki…at this moment, I haven’t decided on who I can use a my 3rd character, I was hoping on having Hibiki as a my anchor or R2. I’m just curious, what’s another character than can fit inside of N-Groove, I’m not fond of Sagat, nor am I fond of Blanka either.

I tried so damn hard to make Rock work with N-Groove (since I really, really like Rock) but it just cannot fucking work no matter how hard I try to use him with it and I hate K-Groove so I wont switch to that either. I’m “thinking” about trying Chunli, and I’m just wondering…would she be a solid N-Groove character?

Yes, I’m not too well knowledge in CvsS2 however I want to know who my last character for N-Groove can or could be. Can Chunli be it? Or is she a bad choice…what are my good options? My team setup would be Ryu/InsertCharacterName/Hibiki, that’s what I was thinking on.

Answers or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
