I’ll try this, I’ll head out to my arcade and play, I’ll try Blanka too, except I can’t RC lightning, so that’ll be hard for me…
And I like having Eagle as an anchor, it’s fun seeing people’s expressions when they get thrown like multiple times in a row.
K-Mai better than K-Kyo?
Wow, I’d love to know why.
I’ve been playing around with P-Vega, Joe, Cammy lately and its been a blast. I know that i have the wrong muay thai king on my team but he’s gimmicky and i like seeing ppl getting confused. Thoughts?
taunt often.
ESPECIALLY if you’re losing.
I remember a post Viscant made a while ago about top-tier teams, and one of them was C Guile, Ken, Sagat (r2). I like this team, but I’m much more familiar with Ryu than Ken. Is C Guile, Ryu, Sagat (r2) still an effective team? Are there any changes to order or groove or anything like that I could make to make this team more effective?
Ryu is good, but requires more skill/knowledge to play correctly. R2 Sagat is probably set as your anchor…so switch up Ryu and Guile depending on matchups. Definitely stick with C for that team, and learn how the matchups go for Ryu and Guile…Sagat’s kinda no-brainer, so don’t worry too much about what you’re doing with him.
Will do. Thanks a lot, Leezy!
Hey I’ve lately been using like alot of teams in K-Groove, mainly Kyo, Cammy Sagat, I also use Zangief, Blanka, and Geese in K-Groove also and may substitute one of the top three (except Sagat) for one of them, which is the best combination to stay with
Blanka Cammy Sakat is the K -are team which means the best characters to use in that groove. I disagree with it however and I think Geese should replace blanka (if you can use geese well, i think he destroys blanka in K at least, nevermind A) and you should do Geese/Cammy/Sagat.
I personally dont like playing cammy and would play Geese/Kyo/Sagat but cammy IS the better character
k geese does not beat k blanka.
Blanka has no scary attack now due to no RC, has next to no way of landing his super (besides low jump mixups) and dealing damage becomes a problem. You cant cross geese up either (d.fierce). Blanka is a fat character and can be crossed up relatively easy. Blanka loses 2 anti airs (rc elec, rc ball), down fierce gets stuffed by j.mk and j.lk by geese, blankas only reliable anti airs would be j.fierce or vertical ball and he has to be charging for vertical ball and who jumps in on blanka charging?
Just my opinion and from what ive played, k-geese seems to beat k-blanka. A or C blanka is a whole nother story.
blanka outpokes geese for free in any groove and k blanka can just low jump in his face all day. and blanka’s hand of god is all the anti air he needs. it’s a total rape unless geese lands deadly rave and blanka can keep him out pretty easy.
Good ol’ halcyonryu has a great post on geese vs blanka in the srk geese wiki…
But since this thread is about team formation, my two cents is that Geese utilizes K-groove better than Blanka. When raged, Geese can convert a low jab into a deadly rave (no charge worries), and argueabley has stronger guard-crush patterns.
Blanka benefits more from rc’s, dash, and a saved meter.
So if Old_V3 is building a team around a K-groove anchor, then Geese fits the bill more effieciently. But if your Blanka is “better”, he’s still a good choice.
I honestly think Geese has the bigger hand on Blanka. If the Geese player knew what he was doing, Blanka would be scared to get near Geese, And when raged shit, jump in= fucking half life, or whiff an attack equals combo into DR. Geese and Blanka will probally trade/hit each other/JD alot to build the bar. And Blanka does loose RC, which means Blanka is ALOT less scarey.
I believe that Geese benefits alot with Kyo in team. K-Kyo/Geese is pretty damn good together, add Cammy/Sagat it’s a beast of a team, IMO.
you havent seen blanka low jump before have you?
i’ve been playing geese for years. i know the match up, and it’s still tough. yeah blanks drops down as far as effectiveness goes without rc and activation, but he still has the tools. if 2 players of equal skill play, blanka will win. geese has the random comeback factor thanks to deadly rave, but blanka can spam pokes on geese and geese can’t do shit. so basically, geese can’t compete in a poking match, can’t jump in, gets kicked in the face all day with lowjump, and i’m sure there are other things i’m missing. i’m telling you, k blanka owns k geese.
Well, its probably who I’m playing when it comes to K blankas. I know geese vs sagat and blanka is really tough in general. But every k blanka ive played against with k geese seems to be in geeses favor. Ill take your word on it and believe that its just who im playing against. Geese does have tools to use against blanka. Small jump mk and lk are almost like a get in free card. S.Hk is also a decent lowjump stopper (you have to predict it) and it helps you get in, just dont get it jd’d.
Blanka can out poke Geese but once Geese gets a JD in on the right poke during the string, Geese can lay down the pain. Also a lot of people that I’ve fought like to blanka ball or c.hp Geese after a blocked c.hk since they expect the reppuken right after so you slap a late counter or just block and catch them for some nice damage. And if you don’t have a nice mix up game with Geese then all hope is lost in beating a K-Blanka. IMO K-Blanka doesn’t have much of an upper hand on Geese vs a RC-able Blanka fighting a K-Geese.
like i said, geese’s best chance of winning involves landing a deadly rave, or getting a jd to combo into it, or whatever. turtle blanka eats geese, groove has nothing to do with it. a blanka might have more of an advantage but it doesn’t matter. blanka beats geese. now YOUR blanka might beat your friends geese, but that doesn’t prove anything. from a match up stand point, blanka wins on solid game play while geese will have to rely on gimmicks and luck and landing the super. gimmicks and luck only go so far.
