I dont think there are any rules against that. But having only one character is an up hill battle, because u basically have to kill off the other players characters quick. Thats no wasy task against tournament level play. But it is ur money and time so do whatever teh hell u want.
cough desora cough If your gunna do a one man team, probally K I think is best, and choose like a big fat meaty character that can take and deal alot. like Geese =).
^ Didn’t we already have this converstion, concerning the ratio 4 characters. I believe we both agree that K groove fat ass is the way to do it.

Anyways, anyone know where to get good match vids with A- Yuri, Mai, Hibiki, not really much of Hibiki, but the other 2… I just know that Yuri can catch Shoto’s out of non RC’ed hurricane kicks if you time it.

Kyo and Rock have great OCV potential. either one to start will be fine. Switch Kyo and Rock depending on matchups I guess.
Alright I fixed my team problem. I pretty much found a permanent first character. Even though he has a lot of bad matchups (from what I hear) I decided to use Rugal/Blanka/Sagat R2 switching the R2 between blanka and sagat. Ocassionally ill throw yama in or even raiden since he’s so fun.
I finally figured out how to do that Athena combo…
Against Sagat, you can do d.HP xx level 3 hcb, hcb+P super and have it all combo. The trick is to be at point blank range, and then input f, df, d, db+HP (hold), b, hcb+MP~LP (hold). You quickly press and hold down all three punch buttons from fierce to jab in succession as fast as possible, so you cancel the d.HP into super at the soonest possible moment.
Pretty cool and easy to do now for me too. It’s useful for N-Athena to break Sagat’s guard, run up, d.HP xx super.

Who wins? K-Hibiki or Blanka? The Blanka slide and d.HK give me problems because they not only go under the Hibiki far s.MP’s I stick out to discourage low jumps, but they go under my d.MP also. The good thing about K-Hibiki is that I can JD a Blanka d.HK and then slice him or d.LP xx super.
What’s your opinion on how this match goes?
I actually found this out while fighting against blanka but I only tried it in the corner and it wouldn’t combo all the time, maybe sagat’s sprite is different? Gotta try it out some more
i’ve been playing geese for years now, and i’ve never considered giving him the R2 for anchoring. i dont have faith in his bad matchups. they’re very hard to handle.
so who would use of them 3 for 2R
all 3 of them are solid characters however do not make up “solid” anchors in theory. therefore, it is up to you. your best out of the three should be anchor.
Yeah, I learned my R-4 Geese is really hard to really play solidly. It’s hard, but it’s possible. But I’d think Kyo would be good anchor, Don’t know thought but as MisterBean said, your best should be anchor.
But shouldn’t this be based mostly off match-ups? Take OTK for example: against Blanka and Sagat anchors he goes with Kyo mostly, and against Chun-li anchors he goes with Rock. Well i could be wrong about that but u get the point.
yes but only to a certain point. otk is solid with all 3 of his characters so he has the choice of doing that.

If I didnt use sagat I would always r2 Geese. I would never pure offense like R2 Kyo, he can lose really bad with a couple bad guesses or he can ocv the whole enemy team, it is kinda random so I don’t trust him, that’s why I usually lead off with him so I will know up front how much kyo mileage I got and plan my less random characters accordingly. Rock seems like a decent r2 maybe but I don’t play him much, but he can play both offense and defense and that is good in a R2 character. Geese has some hard matchups but it is geese, when all you have to do is land a jab to win you can overcome obstacles sometimes that you wouldn’t expect ^^.

I really don’t know a lot about that match with hibiki and blanka…it doesn’t involve anyone I use so I really haven’t ever paid much attention to it. Just from a cursory glance though it seems like she can handle him just as well or better than anyone else can. I am hesitant to ever claim “xx beats blanka” though cause honestly I don’t think anyone beats blanka. A few people do well against him but “beats” implies a 7-3 or better match in my mind and I can’t think of anyone that has a match like that against him.
