How about Haohmaru(R2)/Ryu/Eagle?I’m not too sure wether to use C or N groove…what do you think?
I was thinking Mai, but I don’t know, but yeah, I like my K team.
What order should I put my Ladie’s team and I think put Hibiki R2?
Maybe N. I think Haoh can be kinda good for rushdown? and I know Ryu is pretty good in N, Dunno about Eagle though…
Eagle’s not too hot in N…and Haohmaru isn’t too hot as a character…but if you can use him, more power to you. IMO, Ryu is equal in C and N, just depends on your style of play. This opinion stemming from the fact that Choi continually owns us all up with Ryu in both grooves, but there are definite differences in the way he does it, depending on which groove he’s in. Eagle is better in C…I think that’s pretty much accepted. I’ve heard some good things about Haohmaru…some of which are in C…but I’ve yet to find anyone able to exhibit anything promising outside of training mode.
R2 Hibiki makes the most sense to me, but depending on your matchups and your skill level with the girls, you could rotate them with any R2 and any order. All of them are decent/good batteries, all of them can do stuff with the meter, and all of them are extremely annoying to play against.
Are these good N groove teams:
Terry-Blanka-Bison???
Vega-Terry-Blanka???
Akuma-ken-Terry???
Vega-Terry-Sagat ???
I don’t like this one… Guess it’s the stigma of Bison not being in A.
This one’s ok, tied with last one maybe, slight edge to Sagat since this isn’t A-Blanka
If you can play RC shotos this one’s ok, don’t know about Terry as you’re anchor though, you’ll be working for your wins though.
Hmmm… Best of the above?
The lowest common denominator, Terry, had better be worth his salt IMO for these teams to work.
So who’s good 2 put with Vega-Sagat?
Hell since those two are top tier why not go with a third?
I was only commenting on Terry having to be well played because he’s not top tier, though in N-groove he’s capable of inflicting a good bit of damage you have to be able to get in close to land it, and that isn’t the easiest thing to do considering the goods top tiers have.
As annoying that sweep of his is, it’ll only get you so far since that’s his main knockdown tool for getting in they’ll likely be looking for it, though you can throw a jab power wave and run after it to cover you to get in close if you can keep them off you long enough to throw one.
Low jump roundhouse xx power dunk is good IMO.
Go ahead and keep Terry if you’re good with him and know how to keep your space about you I’d say.
Can N Terry still combo his specials like C, if he can, that’s a plus. But like do you have to have 3 characters in a team to win, unless your like Desora or something…
Oh and for my Women tean, anyone know where I can get videos of them…I know such a futile question…
yes, terry can still go Lv3 buster wolf->lv1 power geyser or any other of the terry combo’s off buster wolf with the exception of fierce burning knuckle. And well u dont have to go with 3 characters but i guess it just works better for synergy especially in like N-groove or A-Groove. If u wanna go 2 characters do it in K where u get rage, thats probably why desora goes K-R4Raiden. Hmm R4 K-Sagat? Nasty!!!
Haha, I was thinking K-Sagat R4, or …
Geese R4, imagine his throw when raged! It’s probally like free lvl 2 super.
I dont have to imagine, cuz theres a guy i know who goes K-R4 Geese sometimes. Damn, stay away from raging storm that shit kills!!!
that kick throw while raged is outrageous
Okay I’m just curious what you guys think of my current team.
C-Groove: Gule, Chun, Honda (R2)
Basically I am pretty good at RCing boom style moves and flashkicks, and Honda is more fun to play than blanka. I do have serious problems with Yamazaki though. But I just picked up honda recently.
Well, all i can say is that ur team is all top tier. So just stick with it and it should be quite formidable.
C-Guile, Chun, Honda
I think maybe Guile’s ground game and all of Chuns tricks (execution wise) are the hardest things to learn about that team, at least initially. One of those things you have to keep at otherwise you’ll loose your edge even when you had a handle on it.
From all indications too Honda seems to fare best with his RC mashing when he’s a battery, you have less things to worry about such as random supers, activation, alpha counters, counter movement and such. Just the opponent’s guard meter.
If you want my opinion, Honda is not a good anchor. What do you do if you are losing? Honda’s offense is mediocre. He is best as a battery opening up a fight on even ground, so that the opponent has to attack him.
I would do honda guile chun(2) if i played that team. Chun is the best comeback character in that bunch and I usually think that the comeback kid should be the r2 anchor.
Just my opinion though.
You know how to charge partition and whatnot? Read www.sonichurricane.com, the guy who owns this runs around these forums I think, his name is Majestros. This site helped me with all my Guile stuff.
And if you put Chun as the ratio2, you have to be very tricky and whatnot…
Well i just got into CVS2 so this is my team
N-groove
Vega R2
rock
ryu
i just realized why A groove was good so i composed a team
A-groove
Vega r2
nakaruru
rock
i like makaruru i dont know why someone feel free to give your opinnion
On your A-team…
I like Nakoruru too. Though I think Nako works best in a running groove since running seems to complement her moveset better than dash.
Her A-Groove is only good because it lets people sneak in more uses of her meter, but with her pressure options, speed, low jump and run she could do the same thing with the damage boost in either K, N. IMO the loss of run hinders her pressure-wise. Sure you get dash/throw/activate mixups, but once she’s in close she can play a quasi/rolento with her +8/+7 jabs/shorts whether with walk or run. She builds meter insanely quick once she’s in but capitalizing on this or earning it would be difficult without lowjump’s and run.
Either Nako (run/dash) has an awesome corner game though.
I’d argue her N incarnation over K just because of the existence of A-Sakura’s CC.
Since we’re talking about A though, she has plenty of links into CC, a reset or two (not so versatile as Hibiki’s though), and can even punish fireball whiffs with a slightly further out CC.
K-Rock is definitely Rock at his strongest, but if you play him in A I think he’d serve you well as a user/anchor. Reason being all that he can do with meter than without. He’s never really served me well as a battery though he can do just that if they’re attacking you stupidly enough to make full use of his defensive normals/specials. In K you don’t have to worry so much about meter so it doesn’t matter so much for placement except for where Rock will own.
No character flat out owns Rock, he just has a high learning curve, somewhat similar to Guile, matchup wise and pokes wise, with Rock’s own mixups added into the mix.
Vega-While he can handle his own vs a good majority of the cast as an anchor, considering the piss-poor damage his CC’s will do even as an R2 compared to the damage C-Sagat will dish out (among others), it’s not worth it. Rock is definitely the choice for anchor on your team IMO.
For your N-Team…
Same reasons listed above though I myself am not sure where N-Ryu would go on that team… Maybe either as a battery or user. Shotos in general are typically “high” skill characters besides in CvS2. RC’s are of course a must as a footsies tool as well as some added assistance in getting in.
I’m sure those old running d.LP’s of his still work, but since the game’s matured I haven’t heard too much of this lately.
As a battery he’ll be facing a lot of characters that’ll give him a run for his money, facing even a counter character such as Vega will be tough, and common.
