I think Nakoruru is best on K groove…it’s almost as if it was made for her. Hurt her enough until she gets rage, knock down the opponent and heal, rinse and repeat. I would put A groove though at her second best groove maybe.
What groove is Chang’s best? I like him in C for his damaging level 2 cancel, but his CC is too easy to perform (repeated MK’s into super for the basic CC).
how does Chang (battery), Chun Li (user), and Yamazaki (anchor) sound on C groove?
I think personally, it’s a pretty good team, not sure about the Chang though, never encoutered anyone who used him lately. But Chun and Yama is nice in C, I used to use that team minus the Chang and put Kim.
Oh, and it probally is made from her, since it is her “native” groove…
I think Chang could be almost a honda type battery. he should build meter pretty fast with choi flying everywhere, and his incredibly high health will a sure u a lvl 3 for Chun-li which is a huge plus. But personally i rather put Yamazaki as user because of the shit he can do with lvl2 cancelling, and because Chun-li has so much more comeback potential. So she is more suitable as an anchor. Still its all match up dependent. if the other guy is using sagat as the anchor put chun-li as the anchor, because sagat owns yama (sadly).
Chang’s fine as a battery but he’s better off in K.
(I’d argue P, but that’s a generic arguement for a lot of characters)
Reason being his fastest fucking move is his punchthrow… That means his jabs/shorts, everything else are slower than his throws. You get in on him with the competition at hand so far as other batteries are concerned and he’s done. You can find a lot of characters that can run outrageous blockstrings (almost Rugal style “Infinite” Blockstrings) on characters like those because of the lack of a normal/dp fast enough to get out.
On his throw itself…
Good range on it IIRC. Or maybe that was the command grab. whatever.
Basically, Get in past all that Choi nonsense (which you can hit BTW)
There’s not much Chang’s going to do to get you off him, without Parry/JD.
His RC’s are so slow I’m sure Cammy could whiff a fart in front of him for meter and throw him immediately upon recovery
edit…on a side note, Choi’s “Hitbox” (active hitting frames-wise) does seem to vary depending on the special, but whatever.
I would, but Boswer did a good job describing it in his wiki. Yeah like vasAZNion13 says it’s similar to ryu’s runin d.LP’s but involves using his frame advantage off d.MP’s xx eppus IIRC. Kinda neat when I saw it. Only works on characters like Chang or Raiden with their slow normals or any character lacking a dp or good RC’s.
edit: Also works wonders on scrubs I’d imagine

JAPANESE “INFINITE” CORNER GC vs no reversal or high pokes
c mp -> lp/mp repu -> dash/run -> (c mp -> repu -> dash/run) xN
In the video this was done on a Raiden with no meter. Because of the sick priority on c mp, the great frames repus leave you at, and his sick dash, this will work on any character without a fast high poke or ranged RC/invincible. lp repu -> run -> c mp will combo at certain ranges, so their only opening is after the c mp. Subbing a mp repu will tighten up that opening, and open a small window before the next c mp. Mix them up well and you’re pretty solid. This works much better with run, as you can vary when you do the c mp also.
It is quite easy to break out of that string after the crouching MP regardless of what speed repu he uses. It is better to use low roundhouse, the extra blockstun tightens it up a lot.
they play like exactly the same. his name is jeron, hes a new york player. real chill black guy, very solid. neither of them were all that fancy, they just were solid and played their game.
Yea. I felt like I had a good games against everyone there except justin, but that guy really worked me. Need to go to the drawing board as far as fighting Mai goes haha, I learned a bit about that match that day that I certainly didn’t know before. Can’t say I’ve ever fought a Mai that was any good before. I really wish I could just sit and play that dude for like a weekend straight.
I’d imagine that A-Mai is almost as viable as A-Vega or even A-Rolento in the battery position anyway. Run-a-way all day building meter with those moves your running away with, a descent b&b when they get too close comboing off her fast shorts. Don’t know anything about her footsies game on the ground though.
That and she has some descent range on her slide enough for her customs and she’s good to go.
Though I don’t think I like the damage her customs do, Vega even for that matter.
That’s Eddie Lee’s first team from when he reappeared after being gone for like 2 years. He went to evo 2k3, beasted with it, Jeron picked it up, then Justin started using it at random times.
