Since i know your playing style pretty well i’d say your team should become blanka, vega, r2 cammy. I think you can use that team while you’re learnin more with your home copy. Also it fits well with your philosophy of parrying and returning with quick/long pokes. When you get your timing and stuff together the team will basically evolve with you for mix ups and advanced pressure traps. Plus i can always tell you the shit i learned thru trial and error so you wont even have to struggle much for the most part. I’d say go for that team
Probably any P team with any two of those(B/S/K/R/V), Plus an R2 Cammy anchor and your Straight City/

What are some good match ups that Rolento and Kyo have?
A-Sak … how do you try and stop it? I try and bait it, and if I can’t then I always make sure to try and keep her out of cr mk range. I can parry and punish the activate and st rh on reaction if I’m not attacking when she activates. Tips?

dp her out of it is your best shot… i know u plak sak… and kyo … and cammy… right? they all got a dp? i know kyo can take her out… maybe sak has to do c.hp when she jump-activates

What do you guys think about that match vs RC guile, thats got to be the most frustrating match for a p-groove player.It’s almost impossible to play footsies since he’s always mid to full screen throwing RC booms, at least if you get close enough you can try to parry all his post boom pressure, since eating a c.MK or his hop kick isn’t alot of damage, but how do you get to him??I’ll try to jump in and parry rc boom fallowed by:a standing fierce or c.MK.It seems cammy is the only character that can take care of him, then if you loose her in the fight it’s all over.Blanka can slide under booms,which is a huge plus in this fight, can anyone else counter guile like that?or any advice??
Hi my name is Forgenjuro. Im 19 and I used to play S-groove exclusivly. But after a numerous number of fights resulting in only 2 wins, I think im ready for a change.
That being said since I am a hardcore 3S player, P-groove was my second option. My team will be kyo/sagat/r2cammy. Please be gentle with me.

I try and bait with Cammy’s TK thingy where she rolls into the ball and you can choose to throw your opponent, dive kick or whatever…I normally like to do a dive kick in the middle of the screen…so that they activate and i’m safe to jump away…

Fighting against a good Vega/Chunli is really hard to cope with…I find it really hard when i’m up against an RC’d Spinning bird kick… what would you guys do in that position?

With any character/any groove against Guile, you’re suppose to maintain the proper half screen range, anticipate, and jump-in when Guile throws the boom.
Stop complaining about RC. It doesn’t mean a thing when you play your distances right anyway. Even if Guile does it on reaction to counter one of your moves, it’s his loss because something like d.HP would of done more damage anyway.
Watch the EVO dvd of Ino vs Daigo to get some more of these old school SF tips. Notice the only time Ino ever gets in against Daigo’s Guile is when he jumps-in properly.
OK dog I don;t know who your playin, but when RC booms and funny kicks beat out everything you throw at them, it’s a little frustrating.
And no a normal antair is not better,I shouldnt have to explain why

I dunno if you’re askin about the vega guile match up. If you are here’s my advice. Vega is really not destroyed by guile at all. Guile has to worry about vega actually. Vega’s jump ins are very hard for guile to beat. As a matter of fact i think guile can trade at best with vega’s jumping hk. And thats with the deep c.hp. Vega’s jumping hp beats all guiles anti airs clean. In this fight i just stay outside of guile’s task force kick (s.hk) and wait for rc booms or for him to move forward. Then i low jump and do a pressure string that may involve a throw or two and jump back out. If he sits and does nothing and DOES NOT have a level 3, pressure with c.mp. If he does, then you wanna wait more and use c.mk. Every match is different but this is the basics of p-vega vs c-guile. Blanka can do something very similar but it’s not as annoying as it is when vega is on the rampage.
I’ve seen you playin choi and i never said anything about how you were handling the guile fight cuz i wanted to let you deal with the drama of that fight a lil more. I went thru it too and have videos to back up how bad its been. The main prob you’re having is you’re trying to parry at the wrong times. After a certain point in distance guile can walk up and c.mk you right as you’re parrying the booms so it’s not safe to parry those as much. Then i’ve seen you get caught up trying to parry what you think he’s gonna do. My theory is you get outta there completely if you’re not in the corner. If you think he gonna stick somethin out and you are in the corner - then uppercut him. More risk if he does nothing but its better if he does anything. Basically you got to pay a lot of attention to guile.You gotta make him stand and walk forward. The reason you’re watching for him standing is you wanna make sure he can’t rc flash kick you, If you see him standing then jump at him and parry his anti airs. If you see him walk forward he cant rc boom or flashkick you. So jump/low jump at him. This post is kinda all over the place but here’s the deal. I know you play sagat, cammy, and blanka. sagat and cammy have a really hard time vs rc guile. Blanka can for sure get you the win and if you dropped sagat for vega. Thats like double the insurance =]
ya, I think I just get too frustrated some times ansd start to rely too much on parry, thx for the info though I need to put the stategy in motion, and not jump in relentlessy,I don’t really learn anything from doing that.
Hmmm … I’ve grown too reliant on parries. I was thinking about going back to C groove for now to build up my footsy game. Good idea, or should I just try to resist tapping forward?
switching grooves temperorily can be good to get rid of bad habbits,But you know, it depends on how good your doing and stuff.If you doing fine just polish your techniques, if parries are killin ya, just resist like you said or take a break.
hey hey… old skoo p-groover back again… i use to be CnP(chaosnparadise,but i dont think ne1 remembers meeh neways =P) every1 here has just about the right idea… try to think about how the other guy is gonna move tap that direction and if u got it then good, but thats the thing… dont abuse ur power of parries… use them when u NEED to not to SHOW OFF. Thats the problem with people always trying to show they can do things and they end up dead. I play R2 (claw) vega besides being pimp he can move in and out faster than cammy switch from rush down to turtle in a blink of an eye. His lvl3 does way more damage and can be pulled off after a quick parry. The only cons i have for him are he lacks an dp and comboability but thats where the parries play there part.
The thing about how to fight a sak… thats a damn good ? i just try to kill her b4 she has a meter, better said than done. Lets just face the facts… its impossible to kill A-Sak if shes loaded ur dead.

Not entirely … if she has meter I’ll turtle to no end. To cover random activations I’m trying to pick up Maki. She has a good punisher with st mk xx kick super, and can get out of random activations with 3K.
Vega can do the same thing with PPP as long as he’s not cornered.
