CvS2: Chun Li everything

Some qns regarding Vega(PC)

Hi all, thanks for the previous strats, they are great.

I have a recent matchup with Vega(psycho crusher) and I have some questions.

  1. What can Chunli do after a blocked psycho crusher? I tried HP but it hits only occastionally

  2. If I wanted to do puff ball super or kick super after blocking the psycho crusher, which direction should I turn the joystick?

a) In the same direction as I was blocking

b) Do it in the direction where Vega has passed by me

Thanks.

Some qns regarding Vega(PC)

Don’t use supers, you’ll only get partial hits.
After a blocked psycho crusher, you can use:
c.fierce, s.fierce, c.rh, s.strong

I just started picking Chun Li after getting tired of C/B/S.

What’s special about c.mp xx kick super? Whenever I see a match video its all people go for. Is there some “secret sauce” to this combo?

Because c.MP is Chun-Li’s equivalancy to Sagat’s c.Fierce.

Most importantly it’s one of the few lvl 1’s with a Garunteed Follow-up, AND a normal leaves the opponent standing, giving chun position advantage (even more than normal). Give chun crazy jumps, speed, and extra range on the strongs, can combo from c/s.jab and basically you have a machine. 3 times in N/C, unlimited in Red S, and if you miss, it’s just a lvl1 anyway (of course it’s not always safe to miss, and if your choi/ricky, you don’t need to miss neway). It’s practically marvel.

For those who care/know how to use the lightning kick:

When comboing off the Lightning Kick (RCd wakeup as well), it’s quite easy to use s.hp to link into super. Add the fact that you can react on connecting the super from the s.hp much easier than a d.mp/s.mp makes it much more ideal.

For Chunli’s C-Groove lvl2 cancel combo, I see no reason why the s.hp shouldn’t be used in place of the more popular d.mp

Another thing, you can connect a CC after a lightning kick. Good for show after a wakeup RC lightning kick (though I’d rather s.hp to lvl1 super).

Anyone has strats for Chunli vs Bison(Psycho)? I really have a hard time fighting him…

BTW, is there an updated version of Gandido’s Chunli faq? Can’t find it in Gamesfaq or Shoryuken here…

I had a hard drive crash when the full version was done. It might be able to be recovered, and if not, well I’ll just need some more free time :frowning:

Low jump Short

What moves can I connect after low jump short? Not much normals seem to be able to connect after it.

Are the Lightning kicks connectable after low jump short? If so, how can I press them faster?

Low jump short, while in the air, hit forward roundhouse short roundhouse, and they should come out as soon as you land.

or forward roundhouse jab+short roundhouse

Thanks! I tried and they work, except I have problem making the low jump short and the Lkicks combo together.

Also, is c.mp comboable from the Lkicks regardless of whether the low jump short is a crossup or not?

i dont think she can combo after low jump short, but after the Lkicks c.mp combos as long as you’re close enough, but s.fierce is better IMO

anyone know an easy way to rc lightning legs without dashing, i can only do it out of a dash or small jump

s.Fierce might not even hit at that range, using c.Strong eliminates that risk.

Don’t expect to, you HAVE to whiff something to buffer the kicks.

i know you have to whiff something, but whats the best order to press the buttons like for electricity i do jab, strong, fierce, roll fierce

whats a good order for lightning legs

Can someone tell me what’s the “s.strong/c.strong into super trick” in Gandido’s Chunli faq suppose to be? Thanks.

If I recall correctly, it’s a technique where, given the correct timing, the super comes out if the strong hits and the super does not comes out if the strong doesn’t hit.

Check previous pages of this thread for more information.

What VManofMana said: It’s a timing trick where you hit the button for the super and it will only come out if the normal you stuck out to buffer the super actually hits (and I don’t mean blocked. I mean hit HIT.)

Anyways, expert combo time

C-Groove:

Crossup short (prefferably on a crouching char), rh l.legs( 2 hits), rh l.legs (2 hits), s.strong xx lvl 2 kick super, rh l.legs (2 hits), rh l.legs (2 hits), s.strong xx super, followup.

I’m not sure if this will dizzy the 60 stun chars, but it’s a pretty good shot. Besides, you’ll get hella prop points for just being able to drum your fingers that fast to get it. Doing the 2 different reps of l.legs gains back more meter, so right after you do a follow up, the next connecting hits SHOULD give you a whole new level 1 super, making Chun’s after mixup game much MUCH better :). Besides, that does around 9800-ish by itself. A follow up would KILL people.

You can either roll your fingers (LK->MK->RH or other way around) or just mash on RH five times, either way that works for you.

My friend explained this to me a little while ago, cause he uses Balrog and he does c.Jab x3, super a lot without doing NE. There’s a time in the normal where you’re able to chain both the special and the super, but also a time where you can chain just the super. I don’t use it because I’m too fucking lazy for that shit and if it comes to Chun-Li, I just do QCF+Strong -> hit -> QCF+K or c.Strong -> QCFx2 really fast (like in 3s)
