CvS2: Chun Li everything

cool.

so when is your faq coming out? if ucan give an estimate on the time it will take you

It SHOULD be out by next weekend, or maybe earlier. I’m just missing descriptions on the normals, specials and supers. Besides the descriptions, all the general mindset, advanced/basic strats have already been placed. I plan on making a Chun vs. __ section for EACH INDIVIDUAL character, so obviously it’s going to be periodically edited.

Here is the work-in-progress version.

if this is what u think of the delayed buffer, then plz add it, i think my explaination may be more clear

c.mp, hold button for half a second (DO NOT DO THE QCF MOTION WHILE HOLDING FOR THIS HALF A SECOND) then let go of button and do double quarter circle motion quickly and kick button

if u are to do c.wp x 2, u can do these two quickly, but again, make sure u press mp for half a second and do double quarter circle motion quickly and super (same as above basically)

You don’t need to hold a button for delayed buffer. It doesn’t even affect the outcome. Besides, why make it harder on myself?

Delayed buffering implies pressing kick a little later than usual and it should only come out when the strong hits. That’s the explanation. Why work so much to have to be psychic with fast qcf motions, when I can just do it that way and have it come out 100% of the time? Unless of course the way it works depends on how long you hold a button down, which isn’t what happens.

What you posted is completely incoherent, in aspect to what I was trying to say.

ZNSF: when did u ever encounter a good honda? there isn’t much hondas in T.O.
except for me and barry.
barry doesn’t play no more, and i haven’t play u in the longest time.

Great, I need help on playing vs Dan.

Seriously though, it’s always good to see FAQ’s come froming people who know what they are doing.

@jchensor:

A question on the above ā€œafter Super set upsā€.

Is the strategy of doing a short jump head stomp, then cross up LK into Super or (deep) combo when/before opponent lands from the Super as effective or is it more risky to do this then the set ups you mentioned above?

chun_li1

Uhm, has the following been discussed in this thread:

Chun Li w/short jump.

Can she do the sh. jump head stomp, then cross up light kick + Super only on some big characters (e.g. Blanka) or is it also possible to hit some/certain smaller, slimmer characters?

Also, is there a reliable way against Sagat to snuff and 2 in 1 into her Level 3 Super Sagats low fierce. So far I only got her low fierce going, but most of the time I get a trade or snuffed myself.

Can someone please reply?

@ jchensor.

Are you still playing your beloved Cammy or has she dropped in her effectiveness?

Actually, the Short Jump Headstomp into Cross-up Short is easily usable after a Super, but because I usually preface it with a Crouch Jab (to get proper distancing), I would probably do Super Jumping Roundhouse, go to the other side of the enemy, do a Crouch Jab meaty, then do the Short Jump Headstomp into Short Cross-up. But even then, sometimes you end up too close and go over the enemy.

It CAN work on smaller characters, but only, I think, if they try to hit you with something your Short beats. But for chracters like Cammy or Sakura, I don’t think the trick will work without the enemy doing something to get themselves hit.

And yes, I still use Cammy every so often. In fact, she’s still on my number one team. ^_^. My main team is Maki, Cammy, and Chun Li.

James, check your PM’s as soon as you can ^_^.

I’ll also add an updated version here soon.

Chun-Li is an evil bitch!!!

-Brandon:cool:

Don’t hate Dr.B! Rolento was the one that killed you in casuals, mwahaha… I’m still writing up this god damn faq.

Random short jump headstomp owns.

-Gandido-

are you writing a faq for every character? where the chun-li one?

Sage: I meant I’m still writing the Chun-Li faq, but now that you mention that, I might do Rolento. It’ll probably suck though.

Here’s an updated version as to how the Chun faq is coming along.

How do I time follow ups with SBKs when I do Chun customs, shit never works for me.

If its an after SBK hit, seriously, mash the button. Has never failed for me.

Best way? I do it by rhythm. If you have a 6-hit Bird Kick, it’ll hit at a certain speed. Let’s say:

hit-hit-hit-hit-hit-hit

What I do, for the majority of my timing, is to learn a good ā€œrhythmā€ for timing the move afterwards. I know the best time to throw out the Normal move after a Bird Kick is slightly SLOWER than the Bird Kick rhythm, but only slightly slower. So it’d be:

hit-hit-hit-hit-hit-hit–hit

I can’t mash on mine because my Chun custom needs to do specific things after Bird Kicks. Plus, I always prefer learning the timing as opposed to mashing… makes me feel more like I’m under control. :stuck_out_tongue:

Hope that helps a bit.

James, check your damn PM’s ^_^.

Actually, now that I think about this, I could just listen to her say ā€œSpinning Bird Kick!ā€ and then figure out where the hits coincide with the words! Not as technical, but hey, whatever works, right James?

True, actually, you COULD use her saying that, but if I’m not mistaken, she finishes saying that fairly significantly (even if for just a second or so) before she reaches the end of the actual Bird Kick animation when she’s hitting you. Then again, I may be wrong. I don’t remember. But if it works for you, definitely, more power to you.
