CvS 3

I’m sorry dude, CvS1 was a joke. Yes, the presentation was nice, but 4 buttons do not work for Capcom characters without some kind of auto-combo system, and the game was about as unbalanced as they come. CvS2 runs circles around it.

And six buttons work for SNK characters? Eww…

Let’s not get on the unbalanced argument, man. Every game from both companies have had this issue. It makes FGs what they are.

CvS 2 had Capcom in mind too much to for SNK fans to even take it seriously.

Not to mention the drastic scaling back of ALL of the SNK guys to put them on par with the Capcom cast.

And the SNK side of the cast was horribly outdated in terms of playstyles.

And your point is…?

The game was FUN, and more balanced than cvs1. Not to mention it was MILES AHEAD of SvC Chaos.
Six buttons worked BETTER for SNK characters than four for Capcom.
And OF COURSE IF A GAME IS MADE BY CAPCOM is GONNA HAVE CAPCOM PLAYSTYLES / mechanics in MIND. And the groove system was just too damm awesome.

I understand if you didnt like the game. But to say it was horrible? If you dont like the series, why are you posting in this thread then? Ive never posted in a 3s or marvel thread, and i dont like those games that much.

Also: You should check your sig. GAROU is quite possible the BEST FF game.

Ppl over here gotta learn to respect other games, even if they dont like em… Jesus…

i think you might fit in more with the cart collecting faggots at neo-geo.com

Like you just disrespected FF and SNK in general? Dude please.

Garou is NOT FF-like at all. RB2 is the end all be all to FF for people who actually grew up with and played FF on competent levels. Good game, just not FF for FF fans.

I posted here hoping that SNKP and Capcom BOTH would be willing to make a game TOGETHER. It’s getting hard enough just to be a fan of the genre when the main two 2-d companies fucked over each other when it came to the crossovers.

And six buttons don’t make a lot of sense anyway.

I usually respect and agree with you opinions, Shishioh, but I have to ask: what, besides the presentation and music of CvS1 did you like so much?

I mean, the ratio system was pretty fucked up and I’m not saying CvS2 is balance-city (Blanka, anyone?) but really, who wants to roll and throw all day?

I can deal with both four or Six-button systems, doesn’t matter to me.

@Sirlin Snake Shirt: The fact you’re in red should tell you something. Learn how to disagree without resorting to childishness, asshat.

@Tech: Wild combos and EX styles. And the fact that Capcom didn’t saturate the game with stupid shit.

Elaborate, please.

I’ll just give you a rundown on everything I don’t like about that game.

As we all know, presentation is HORRIBLE.

Outdated SNK cast selection and playstyles.

Six buttons. Just my personal gripe. Not really serious.

The fact that I can’t have proper gameplay mechanics from any of the games that the grooves were supposed to be representing without modifying them heavily, thus making the game unplayable to everyone else.

Floaty control depending on what type of system you’re playing on. Might just be the places I played it at and systems I I’ve played it on but still…

Roll cancel: The game has become based around this too much.

Properties of SNK cast moves were changed too dramatically. Not surprising but I think they went overboard. It’s like they wanted to paint a bad picture about the SNK cast.

Maybe I’m looking at this wrong, but I can’t find anything I like about this game. Should I just take it like another SF game? Should I take it as an insult? Just baffles me on what they tried to accomplish with the game system.

Good thing there was NO fans wanting MvC3 or even MvC2 online.

I mean, there is no demand, so why would they listen to us now?

And if there is a CvS3, then I hope it stays true to the original, hand drawn sprites.

Dont get me wrong, SFIV, KoF12 and TvC look great, but not every single game now has to use that graphical formula.

CVS3 would be cool, but I don’t see how they are gonna top what they did
with CVS2. seeing the circumstances surrounding the making of KOF12, it’s Know it’s not gonna anything like it. If Capcom makes the game by themselves, it will be 3d.

the only way I see it being 2d is if SNK… AND Capcom develop the game together.
SNK has the 2d artists lol.

as far as the 6 button layout, if they put some snk characters in the game,
they’d have to get a little bit creative. *looks at Angel’s move list…
personally I would like to see more cool characters be put in the game
instead just the ones that are super popular, like Jhun from KOF99.
I would also like to see MORE old characters brought back like they did Maki and Eagle… I would love to see Carlos from Final Fight 2 in a fighting game

Ummm…KOF 12 DOES use hand-drawn sprites. Really sexy ones at that. Unless you’re suggesting that they once again reuse the classic, low-res sprites again…which we really don’t need.

Ok then, I’m not a KoF guy, so I am not “in the know” on that series.

Regardless, look at what Udon did w/ STHDr. The 3d models are pretty, but handdrawn is what SF/Capcom is, to me at least.

Oh God. Not this again. Time to close the thread.

BTW, YES, the SNK characters worked perfectly fine with six buttons.

All it needs is Dudley.

Honestly…FUCK how the game looks. As long as it plays good enough to both sides and isn’t lopsided again for the fourth time, I’ll play it.

EDIT:That would mean that BOTH companies would have to work together, which might end up in a canceled game anyway.

You’re an idiot. Marvel and Capcom aren’t even companies in the same medium and look where that got them with the MvC series.

You’re the idiot. Capcom created the GAMES(all Marvel forays) by themselves. And they were unbalanced if I’m NOT mistaken. Like I said before, learn to disagree like an adult, asshat. And try to do some research as well.

If you can count all versions of CvS2 (including EO) on all platforms (PS2, DC, GC, and XBox) in all regions, then CvS2 sold very close to a million.
It would have sold more if Capcom had actually produced more of it, because they sold out on damn near every copy they made. Same with MvC2, SFAnniversary Collection. Last Capcom fighter that was mass-produced was Alpha 3 on PSX, because it hit the greatest hits list (not coincidentally, the PSX Alpha 3 was the last 2-D fighter to sell over 1 million world-wide).
After Alpha 3, Capcom only started producing the amount of copies they were absolutely sure would sell, which was generally 200-250k copies on PS2. The only different game was Marvel, which they actually had to stop making early because the license ran out. The XB Marvel was the last version in production, and had to be cut short and have its code for XBox Live play removed–which ended up making the XB version of Marvel super rare.

You know what could work if this game comes to pass?
SNK characters get 4 buttons, Capcom characters get 6 buttons. As unorthodox as this sounds it does seem possible.
