Custom stick art for TE

Hey, I have read other threads on this subject, but I created a new one because I want to make sure I go about this correctly. So far I have my art set to 300 DPI, and I looked at the online kinko’s site, and I was going to choose laser paper and 11x17. I also read I need to choose lami-label.

After that I use an exacto knife to out it out, right? Except I read you cut it out before laminating it so I was confused. What is the order you go about doing this? Sorry, complete noob here.

Also, here is the art I will be using. I want to make sure I choose the right settings for the specific art I made.

Thanks ahead of time :xeye:

te

were did you get the template for the te ive been lookin all over the site.

must not have looked hard.

i just typed te template into the search bar.

unless you meant his specific picture…

Yah, the templates are in that other thread…this thread is about artwork…

You sir, obviously did not read that thread, since it’s 100% about artwork. If it were just about templates it’d be a couple of freaking links, not several hundred pages.

Please click the link to read that thread, and use the search bar for any information you don’t get there.

There are tens, if not hundreds, of people that could provide you with step-by-step instructions of what it is that you need to do, but since all of the information is already quickly and easily available in this forum, you’re less likely to get real responses and more likely to get ‘use the search bar and read the forum’ responses.

So… use the search bar and read the forum.

I’ve already read other threads on the subject, but I need help with my specific artwork. Quit being a sycophant, and actually post something worth reading.

Also, I meant this thread was about my artwork because I need help with printing it correctly.

Your art is no more unique than anyone else’s, and these questions have been answered. Use PS, open the template psd, scale your image to fit onto the template, save, have printed.

It’s ok to be a noob (Lord knows I am), but it’s not ok to completely ignore the vast amounts of knowledge (and answers to your questions) because you’re lazy.

I’ve looked through the thread too but I couldn’t find the answer to Lane’s question and it seems as though lamilabel is becoming rarer now with Art’s fab plexi covers.

His/Her art may not be unique but the question is (in comparison to the far majority). I hope you didn’t think you answered the question.

Lol, that’s all the obvious stuff.

I am trying to figure out what kind of paper this would look good on because I’ve never worked with anything besides normal generic printer paper. I was reading that some colors don’t go good with certain types of printers/paper in the other threads so I wanted to know specifically how it should be done.

If you read my original post you would see I read previous threads before. I was only able to find three which gave me some information, so I decided to create another so I can have people try and help me out with my stuff. If that’s too much to ask then I guess I’ll try and find some shop that can answer my questions…

Also, its not that I feel my art is unique…I’m just trying to make sure I print it, correctly.

My intent was not to answer the question, but to point out that art is art, and these questions have been answered before. I went through the same process and was able to read the forum and get enough information to print my art.

If every person that needed instructions on having art printed opened their own thread, the question would be answered on a daily basis.

Well, I already read other threads, and still need some help. There are a dozen of threads being created over and over again on how to remove quick disconnects where to put their fingers on a stick, and other stuff that has already been answered.

If you’ve already done this, btw. Couldn’t you have easily tried and helped me out? Instead of being a pest?

And after a few days we’d all know the answer :lovin:

A comprehensive printing thread (type of paper and how it affects prints, file formats, dpi, etc.) would rock

I can teach a man to fish, or I can serve him the fish at his table. I chose to learn to fish, and I believe others should, too.

The answers are out there and quickly available.

I don’t necessarily disagree, and the reason I won’t create one is that printing type is dependent upon multiple variables, and I don’t have experience with all of the different cases, techniques, plexi, etc. I had a singular problem and was able to solve it.

if you aren’t gonna help him stop trolling then.

You can use a very sharp Exacto knife to cut through the lamilable without a problem.

Order:
[]create artwork to correct scale/color (CMYK not RGB) in photoshop/whatever
[
]save (psd or jpg should work fine) and take to kinkos and have it printed on lamilabel
[]Remove the top panel of your stick and disconnect/remove the buttons/joystick/turbo panel
[
]Peel off the old artwork from your stick
[]Clean the panel so theres no residue/sticky stuff or dirt
[
]Spray your panel with adhesive and carefully lay on your lamilabel into position (follow directions on the spray adhesive packaging). This might not be needed since Kinkos lamilable has an adhesive backing.
[]Flip your panel over and lay it on a cutting surface (eg. hobby cutting mat)
[
]Using the holes as a guide, cut out the areas for buttons, joystick & turbo panel
[]reconnect the buttons/joystick and screw your panel back into place
[
]Lick/kiss your new artwork (optional)
That pic isn’t the right size (unless you scaled it before uploading it). Also, make sure the color mode is set to CMYK and not RGB.

Good Luck!

This has been answered in the aforementioned thread, so stop ganging up on Omnimon. I know it has been answered… since I was the one who answered it.

90 lb. Card stock. It’s durable, and prints well. Use an exacto knife and preferably a self-healing mat underneath the artwork.

Set your artwork to 300 DPI and CMYK mode. I generally put the artwork on a tabloid sized (11x17) sheet. If you don’t do this, you won’t be able to select 90lb. card stock. Kinko’s online won’t accept (or might) a PSD, and I save the file as a PDF which works fine.

I’m not certain about how you’d go with the lami-label route since I use Art’s plexi over the TE, but I assume you get the artwork, cut it out, and then go back to Kinko’s and ask for the lami label service. Then cut it out again and you’re set.

Yes, and those who’ve created those threads have been scolded for it, and I don’t believe you’re an exception to this “rule.”

Oh, shut it. You’re doing the same. Useless post.

You answered it but your not sure how to go about it? :wonder:

I was referring to the paper type question.

EDIT: http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=178381
There. Searched and found the thread.

Use that thread and this one: http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?p=6546819

Oh wow, I must have selective vision because I’ve only now noticed the “I want to make sure I go about this correctly” section of the original post. For some reason I only saw the lamilabel question.

Please accept my apologies Omnimon & Evelgest
