You don’t “need to” choose lami-label. It’s not your only option, and that what he seems to think. A piece of plexiglass (aka acrylic) works fine. I prefer Art’s pre-cut acrylic.

Yup, I had the second bookmarked.

You can use a very sharp Exacto knife to cut through the lamilable without a problem.

Order:
[LIST=1]
[]create artwork to correct scale/color (CMYK not RGB) in photoshop/whatever
[]save (psd or jpg should work fine) and take to kinkos and have it printed on lamilabel
[]Remove the top panel of your stick and disconnect/remove the buttons/joystick/turbo panel
[]Peel off the old artwork from your stick
[]Clean the panel so theres no residue/sticky stuff or dirt
[]Spray your panel with adhesive and carefully lay on your lamilabel into position (follow directions on the spray adhesive packaging). This might not be needed since Kinkos lamilable has an adhesive backing.
[]Flip your panel over and lay it on a cutting surface (eg. hobby cutting mat)
[]Using the holes as a guide, cut out the areas for buttons, joystick & turbo panel
[]reconnect the buttons/joystick and screw your panel back into place
[]Lick/kiss your new artwork (optional)

That pic isn’t the right size (unless you scaled it before uploading it). Also, make sure the color mode is set to CMYK and not RGB.

This has been answered in the aforementioned thread, so stop ganging up on Omnimon. I know it has been answered… since I was the one who answered it.

90 lb. Card stock. It’s durable, and prints well. Use an exacto knife and preferably a self-healing mat underneath the artwork.

Set your artwork to 300 DPI and CMYK mode. I generally put the artwork on a tabloid sized (11x17) sheet. If you don’t do this, you won’t be able to select 90lb. card stock. Kinko’s online won’t accept (or might) a PSD, and I save the file as a PDF which works fine.

I’m not certain about how you’d go with the lami-label route since I use Art’s plexi over the TE, but I assume you get the artwork, cut it out, and then go back to Kinko’s and ask for the lami label service. Then cut it out again and you’re set.

Yah, I uploaded my artwork in the online printing section at Kinkos.com. They don’t allow you to upload PSDs so I put it on a PDF as I read I should. So, is cardstock preferable to Matte? Also, does the colors I used on my template come out any better on specific paper? Cuz I read something about choosing the right paper for your art.

Also, is their a way to prevent your art from discoloring from the heat of your hands on the panel? I googled it, but I couldn’t find where to buy a self-heating mat.

Sometimes its referred to as “Cutting Mat” or “Hobby Cutting Mat”, try that. Most hobby or arts & crafts stores should have them.
