Cuphead - Run&Gun Game

Oh my goodness! How can someone be this fucking bad? Low IQ as fuck. There are two pillars and this nigga on the GROUND, instead of the first pillar, trying to jump over the second pillar. Not to mention the instructions on how to get over this pillar are in the got damn background. We can’t even shit on these niggas nowadays for being hot garbage without the media calling us “cancerous” when in reality he’s the cancer that is killing off high skill ceiling games one step at a time. I promise you; SF8 will be a one or two button game with no motion inputs.

It’s hilarious, but I ain’t laughing. This shit got me a little heated.

Fuck basics of the game. How about basic reading ability when the tutorial explicitly tells you what to do and you don’t do it. I honestly didn’t think the video would be that bad until I watched it.

maybe he cant read.
time to include tutorials which speaks to you…yo dumbass, go on that fucking block, jump and press xyz

Holy crap I knew the comments on this would be gold… I might be spending the rest of this afternoon going through them for continued entertainment…

 this is quality.

I have often wondered the same things whenever I see someone in the “gaming media” demo some new game…usually at shows like E3 or TGS, etc… it looks like what happens when someone handed the controller to their 81-year old grandmother who also happens to be blind in one eye…a person who has literally never even played any game before.

This video is also amazing because the tutorial has text printed right there on a plain white background, telling the player what to do and how things are done.

Good to see people are finally blaming the reviewers/“journalists” instead of the gamer this time.

I remember a couple years ago showing a vid of the frog boss fight and wondering why they weren’t parrying boss fight and people were blaming the game ( at this forum and others).

That video reminded me of this one

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d3pQ0oO_cDE

Parry window is ~7 frames is about 7 frames. From one of the people involved with the game

It’s where I’ve been getting my info on this game for the past couple years and it’s all checked out.

ohoooo I’m just now noticing his comments

goddamn… wow, man…

This is astounding. The guy apparently thinks this takes some “master” level of gaming skill? This just got 1000x more hilarious if he’s actually serious with this shit. He seems to be talking like this is some “[modern]Ninja Gaiden 2 on Path of the Master Ninja” shit that requires God-level gaming skills

…maybe he’s just trying to stretch this to get some 15 minutes of fame or something… he actually made it worse trying to apparently save face here. Somewhere out there… DSP of all people might even be laughing at this dude too. This is such a beautiful disaster. I hope he continues responding to the criticism to keep making things worse… MJ popcorn gif

I mean really… the first part involves the most basic of all skills in a game… running and jumping to get over an obstacle…and there’s even text literally in black and white telling you to jump then press a different button to dash…and he can’t do it… holy shit man

*edit–ok yep it definitely gets worse. If he’s absolutely for real with this… I’d say it’s a fair guess to assume this is a person that might have an actual learning disability… or some other mental problem, like perhaps a diminished short-term memory or something. That’s definitely “not a good look” bro to used a tired ol’ phrase… when footage of your gameplay makes the average person wonder if you are suffering from mild retardation. As people said over and over in the comments… this isn’t exactly rocket science here… you don’t need to be a “MLG PRO GAMER” to remember basic shit like the average platformer: “run, jump over these things, dash, shoot the bad guys.”

“DO A BARREL ROLL!”

-Starhammer-

A one handed dude could do better than this shit show. Heck, we got no handed guys doing combos with their mouths in fighters so what’s his excuse? :bee:

this is proof positive why pro gamers get paid well to play games and that there is no money to be had in videogame journalism at all.

@Po_Pimpus where are you??? You eat this classic stuff up. I guess since it’s only coming to Steam and Xbox you think it’s trash. If this was a release on the Switch; my god, you’ll be hyping the shit out of it.

Po doesn’t play games. He only bitches about them with no grounds except for his own deluded opinions.

Truth has been spoken here.

who is this guy? he should of just laughed it off saying “yeah i sucked but i’ll get better”. instead he got defensive and made it worse. if he’s a reviewer then how does he finish any game he’s started? it must take a couple months for him to review a single game.

I just watched a bit of that vid. I don’t expect game journalists to be experts at playing games, but my concern is whether a review will be written based on how poorly they play, or if they manage to write a fair review despite their performance.

break that down.

why would you be bad at a game?
because you don’t understand it. because you don’t have enough experience with it. because you lack knowledge about it.

how much do you value statements made by someone who is bad at a game then?

opinions can be uninformed. which makes them pretty much pointless.
a review is just an opinion piece. a review by someone who sucks is more or less useless.

i don’t know what the fuck a ‘fair’ review is either. how can you tell that? and if you already have your own opinion enough to decide what is fair, why do you care about theirs.

Depends on what you consider fair. In my case it’s that they at least played the game enough to understand how to play it and what’s doing. If they can do that it’s worth listening to opinions of others because different people will have different things to say, even if they all do get the game, know how to play it, and understand what the design is going for.

I’m not expecting no opinions. I’m expecting informed opinions. Heck, I’ve been able to realize that I’d probably like a game simply from a negative but well-informed review of a game before. Granted, writers who can be that clear and well-informed while still expressing their opinions and being fair are rare as fuck though

and thats why the majority of fighting game teviews and test are not worth much.
the people who do these dont have a clue about fighting games at all the majority of time.
not to speak that barely anyone test or speak about the netcode…

back to cuphead, two older video but still interesting when you are into the art thing of the game

To be fair that guy wasn’t really a video game journalist, he’s a specialist in video game economy and industry. If anything it shows how some people are able to study something without ever touching it with their bare hands.
(And also that he has the learning skills of a dead rat)
