Description
Cuphead is a classic run and gun action game heavily focused on
boss battles.Inspired by cartoons of the 1930s, the visuals and audio are
painstakingly created with the same techniques of the era, i.e. traditional hand
drawn cel animation, watercolor backgrounds, and original jazz recordings.
Play as Cuphead or Mugman (in single player or local co-op) as you traverse
strange worlds, acquire new weapons, learn powerful super moves, and discover
hidden secrets while you try to pay your debt back to the devil!

Some of the games that influenced our design choices are:
Gunstar Heroes (Seven Force!), Contra III, Contra Hard Corps,
Super Mario World, and the Thunderforceseries.

the main part will be still the boss battles and in a earlyer stage it seems that this was even the only thing you could do
but they expanded it now. i wouldnt expect to much from the filler levels…and yeah, the art style is really great and with
a 20€uro pricetag in the green area for me.
edit: btw, later on it seems to get a gog release.
Wish my laptop could run this game. Thinking this will sell more on Steam/PC than Xbone but I hope it sells great across both platforms. Game has looked amazing since it was first shown and it’s cool the devs were able to make it more to the original vision, than a boss rush game, with MS money.
I just realized it will be released in one month! I’ve been waiting for this half a year, just the idea of making an entire game with a 30s cartoons artstyle was amazing.
the only “negativ” thing is that as it seems there will be no online coop, just offline.
but its just what i heard without any form of solid proof so…dont quote me on it.
it would be great but thats nothing which you do on the fly so when its not planned for the release version
i doubt they will go back to the draft and start to implement it…cant recall any game which actually implemented
one after it got released even with giving people hope it might come…
i guess we should hope that i am wrong and that with some success sales wise it might be a thing.
I think they really just wanted to make the main campaign solid before dealing with online connectivity. The amount of work they had to put in animations is probably insane.
The latest video where he’s fighting off the garden bosses put me over the edge as to definitely picking this up. Along with being on a NES/SNES binge recently and having my love for these old style games coming back, this game is going to fit that void.
