Too lazy to figure out now but super quick responses:
Tom-Yeah, they are still played in certain areas but the amount of tournaments are very few and far between for those titles. It’s “easier” for people to find and travel to events for mvc3, ae, ssf4, etc because people will play what is new and “Fresh.” Every single game that has ever been created eventually dies or comes extremely close to death to the point where it is almost impossible to hold strong sessions to develop as players.
Everyone saying I would complain about older games: No, I would not and no I do not. The education and amount of growth in those titles is much more deep and much more of a process. It’s not easy to play MVC2, Third Strike, or ST. It’s much more of a process then new generation fighters. To me, THAT is FUN and THAT is EXCITING. Learning. I play MVC3 and SSF4 and I feel like I understand the core basis of the game in like a week.
I watch epic comebacks in 3s, crazy cpu assisted matches, old school daigo matches in alpha 3 w ryu, crazy doom strider stuff w cl0ckwork, justin wongs cyclops comeback, dark prince, and sooooo much and I have NO IDEA what is going on or WHY what they are doing is so good.
Then I look at SSF4 and go “Yeah, hes just playing more lame and waiting. Hes making it look like hes going to do something…but its just baiting and punishing.”
or mvc3 and go “Cool mix up. Hes just playing more random/fast and overwhelming his opponent and doing some os’s mashing tron and sentinel and using Wesker, Mags, or Phoenix like everyone else.”
In a sense, I’m going to try to find some people on SRK who will play MVC2 online with me and get me decent. I like Akuma so far because hes fun but I need another two characters. Probably Psylocke for the assist and someone else…

Ct, Sunday June 5th ,The Waterbury Tournament aka Project-Esco Nasty
-This will be held on Sunday June 5th , Doors open around 1pm for Casual, Tournament starts at 3:00pm HOPEFULLY!!! depending if everyone is on time.
-Game-MVC3 will be $10.00 entry fee for pot. Last tournament was only 5.00 due to the turn-out but it will be 10.00 this time. There will be some SSF4 casuals if extra set ups are available.
-Food update- There is always water available at the studio. There are a lot of restaurants around the area so I don’t mind if you bring food. HOWEVER, please eat your food in the lobby, it is a dance studio so I have to keep it clean.
Rules: Double Elimination, Best of 3 matches, Finals Best of 5 matches. Each match 2 out of 3 rounds
Parking: There is parking all in front of my studio and in the upper deck lot. Please be mindful that the parking is shared with other businesses so if parking is full, please park in the upper deck.
Fee: $5 venue fee + $10 tournament fee = $15 total to play
Hardware: XBOX 360 and PS3 **Bring your own stick!!!, they will be played on Lagless monitors. **If you want to bring a set-up for casuals you are more than welcome.
**STREAMING: Streaming will be by Technical Monkey (**if anyone wants to record or stream future matches, they can just PM me. )

BRACKETS QUESTION: Last Tournament there was a small issue with the brackets that was use from challonge.com ( too many buys) I guess it was a close split on whether to use Challonge.com brackets and the famous “handmade paper brackets from previous tournaments” So…paper or challenge.com??? or do you guys even care??
OTHER STUFF: SMOKERS!!! I have no problem with smoking on front of the studio. HOWEVER, I will provide an Ash tray for the butts. There was a lot of butts on the parking lot that took me a few minutes to pick up. So please DON’T throw them on the floor.

Hopefully everyone will be on time for the tournament to start at 3:00pm I can delay the tournament at least until 4:00pm but anything longer than that would be unfair to the people that made it on time. If everyone is just running late then I will just play it by ear….again

In XenForo (which is the new forum software), you just hit “Reply” and it adds the quotation to your reply box. You can do it multiple times.
There is something special about a lot of the old games, and it feels like they do have some things that the new games lack, but there really is depth to the new games as well, and they are not bad games. If you read my last post, maybe it will make more sense. But in any case, some people will see that, and some won’t. And in either case, it doesn’t mean people will (or won’t) enjoy the games. I wish you could take more time to try to see what I’m talking about, but that’s up to you. I do respect that you are actually playing something old school after stating your opinion, though.
Really have said my piece on this topic by now. Seriously…can’t we all just play some games now? Haha.

I’m still not sure whether or not I’ll be making it to Montreal Annual Tournament, but it still stands that if I don’t, I will go to your tournament! I mean no offense by prioritizing like that, by the way, but MAT is a major, and I’ve known about it for months. I imagine you will understand. 
In any case, I hope people will show up and support! Esco’s tournaments are worth checking out.

Yesterday was a nightmare…I’m so crap at MVC3…and I’m beginning to lose my touch in SSF4. I need MK9…=(
BTW…What if I had ST? Would it be possible to add it to the line up of games if I were to join you guys in one of these?
