as for it looking like sf… ummm, you DO know its using an adapted version of the SF4 engine right? and its being made by Ono… why in the fuck would you expect different? oh yeah, cuz you’re a fucking idiot.
Of course I know that. It just…looks too similar. Have you played SF2? SF3? SF4? HDR? Alpha? CVS2? All of the SF’s are very different variations of one another. This game just screams, “hi, its ssf4 with rolls, tekken characters, and a few new animations.” It looks choppy atm. Hopefully they change a great deal about because im more excited for Tekken VS SF right now.
I dunno after reading about some of the mechanics for SFxT, I’m starting to get interested in it. I was really hating the idea too. Obviously the video shows people just mashing jab and have no clue how to do anything in the game, so its not going to look interesting.
Its definitely not SSF4 with just rolls + tekken chars. There is the new tag system, crazy juggles, meters are managed completely different. Visual style is even a little different compared to SSF4 if you wanna be nitpicky. Considering i was the biggest hater for this title, capcom has me generally interested now, am I sold on it though? Not just yet.

T VS SF in THEORY could be the exact same thing as Tekken but I’m pretty sure people are more interested in how SF players are going to work in a 3D world where as transitioning from 3D to 2D for Tekken is less exciting. Also consider, that the SF games have been receiving so much of the lime light recently that it would really have to play really different to make a huge splash.
You also have to realize that we have seen some footage and decent amount of images for SF VS Tekken now. We haven’t for Tekken. The games still in development, yes. But it will generally be played like this. Look at early mvc3 and sf4 footage…generally they play very similar to their final builds.
how do you get through your day to day with your thought process?
I’m going to work in a 3d world like I did with every other 3d fighting game. :\ This games not close to being done, it will most likely be 80x different time time you see it/get to play dat ish.
