Nice, I just picked up a 550, coming from an 8800gt myself. Pc is still in pieces, something went wrong with the hard drive, but I’ve had Crysis 1 sitting on a shelf for the past six months waiting for me to clear a backlog of games I have right now. Once I get my pc back together I’m going to finally get around to this.
Thats probably what he wanted tbh since a lot of people think assembling a PC is like building the Hadron Collider. If that’s the case then anything modern from the usual manufacturers with a dedicated graphics card should be able to run it. You’ll have to research the rest yourself.
Just go to a store that deals in computer parts, pick out what you want and pay the extra 40 bucks to have them put it together.
In my city, I go here… http://www.memoryexpress.com/ http://www.memoryexpress.com/SystemConfig/Default.aspx
I print out my specs, go to the store, give it to them, if I feel lazy I’ll pay them to build it, or I’ll put it together myself (I just hate the power supply portion of it)
With a little bit of research (a few hours) and a screw driver you can put a computer together youself for a fraction of the cost of one of those pre-built gaming computers.
I wonder what the Ice level is going to look like. My 8800GT was doing okay on high-very high, except for an occasional stutter here or there. When I got to the ice stage I damn near melted out of my chair and had to drop the settings lower. When the screen started freezing up and frost got on the gun, I thought I saw the light.
I’ve purchased two computers from Dell in my life. My old Inspirion 9300 which only ever needed a lemon dvd drive replaced (but since it’s 7 years old now the battery is dead and it’s just been bogged down from years of use and is obviously falling behind) and my current Alienware M11x which needed a couple of hardware replacements (motherboard and screen). I did however pay extra for having support. But the actual use of the machines has NOT been a shitty experience at all. No different than any other PC imo.
But back on the Veggie tip: So where the eff do you hide if a hummer is rolling by? Like can you jump higher into the mountains or does your cloak last twice as long? Vegetation really makes or breaks the stealth aspect of this game. You can hide from anything if you do it right. Like in MGS3 hiding in the grass and shit is big deal but in Crysis it’s an even bigger deal since it’s not just a bunch of paths with patches of grass. It’s roads lined by deep forests and bushes. You can go up the side of one hill and plan your attack from a prone position. It’s l like being the Predator.
