If you want a knockdown you use cr.mk, if you want damage MGU or H.Dreads. Soft knockdown isn’t offering you a lot out of the other two, L.Sobat primarily is just a footsie tool for me, like fischbs says it’s almost like a short range fireball in some ways.
Deejay soft knockdown set-ups are pretty legit plus i don’t have to worry about DWU. For me personally I usually break Dj enders into categories (soft knockdown, hard knockdown, spacing) depending on how the match is going and act according.

yeah soft knockdown is useful for dee jay with knee shot, hol dat.
dj’s strength is the fact that he is a hard read if played right since he has so many admittedly shitty options at his disposal compared to the majority of the cast which have relatively fewer but more powerful options. being able to play off of soft knockdown, hard knockdown, or a certain spacing (like wilder said) gives you the ability to remain unpredictable on your next offensive move. good stuff.
