If Ryu hits the reversal at the first frame the timing is strict, but if he hits it at a later frame then it isn’t so much.

This really shows where I’m at, although I don’t FA as much anymore, plus my strings have gotten better. Any suggestions outside of tech throws more would be welcome.
Don’t forget your high low mixups. By what I mean is I saw you use c.LP a lot, but there were times where a c.LK could have landed and started a combo for you. Like at 3:50 you had him in a standing block. A c.LK might have worked into another combo that could have hit him for a couple hundred.
You were a little overzealous with the focus attacks. There were a few times where you did a nice job with them, but there were also several times you were very predictable and was punished for it. Try not broadcasting them so much. Your offensive use for them was ok though.
I also saw several botched FADC. I am sure you know how to fix those. :tup:
Overall a good performance, keep refining those fundamentals.
On a side note, your Avatar is making me sad. I really want to go to the NW regional, but I will most likely be moving back into college on that day. :sad:
Yeah NWM is gonna be beast, I don’t know why I missed those FADC combos I’m almost always on point with them, the cLK advice has definitively been noticed and I’ll be hitting up training mode to polish that up. The one thing that made me sad is he never really hooligan rolled so I couldn’t cMK buffer demon which looks hilarious against it.
Here’s some matches I had today. I’m still getting used to akuma, he’s pretty tough to play compared to my other mains, but I’m improving nonetheless. I’d like some criticism from experienced akuma players, so I can figure out what I need to improve on.

I’d work on the usual c.lp, c.lp, c.mp (or c.lp), bnb stuff, instead of the c. lp, c. lp, c.mk, hadou. Both videos (more in the Rose one) have a lot of that which is really a wasted opportunity.
@nin - it seems to me that you play your akuma how a lot of people play their ryus. might just be me, tho. you pull off the c.lp, c.lp, c.mp, fb block string quite well. you should FADC after that into bnb on hit confirm.
also, i think your oki game could use some work. when your opponent is knocked down, you tend to jump away air fireball alot. keep the pressure on with some block string mix-ups, air fireball crossups, etc.

Thanks, I actually just bought a cheep ass camera that I can quickly record something with and then just plug it into my computer and bam it’s on a program that’s preinstalled into the camera and it even has an option to put it straight onto your youtube profile.

If you can’t afford that, there’s cheaper alternative cameras, or you can go the whole record straight from your TV approach, but I prefer to watch people play while they’re commenting on the match, personally.
Yeah, I’m definitely going to change that. I agree, I’m killing a lot of my chances to do a lot of damage.
