That Guile player spent more time taunting than avoiding the Demon’s. I have some replays from today I might upload but I played so piss poor. I’m waiting for a match where I actually utilize some mixups before I do any more posting. This will happen soon, I’m determined.
Not too much to say on this one. Good footsies though.
noriega you have the wrong idea.
it is not about mixups man.
its not.
LIKE WATAAAA
Would anybody fight me and upload the matches for me? Im decent but I have no way to capture video from my 360.
LMAO ! Guile was very noobish. You’ll get better in time. I think we all started like that.
This. My fav videos of mine are when I play a very calculated Akuma, using all the right punishes, AAs, and pokes, pushing them into that corner and not letting them escape
For the first vid at 1:25. You tried a whiff DF palm into cr.lk and you got thrown. I know i need to do this myself too, but try getting into the habit of using cr.lk + cr.lp for the cr.lk part of the combo so in case your opponent wants to throw you, in the worst case you get a reset.
Also, maybe try ending combos with sweep? You seem pretty good with ending combos with HP shoryuken, this could be a new way of ending combos. I don’t know if you play pad or stick, but in training mode, i can plink on a ps3 pad (not 100% but i don’t really practice it often) so if you think you’ve plateau’d (sp?) try that. I only watched the first video and you play a pretty good akuma (in my eyes )
I play pad. Man Ive sat in Training mode for an hour straight trying to land sweeps after a lk tatsu and it just doesnt come out. Ive watched vids, read up on the plinking, everything. I am just unable to do it, which is why I either do for damage or a reset, which sucks because getting that UK is better than those most of the time
Thanks for the input on the DF Palm cross up, I hadn’t thought of using crouch teching like that
The timing isn’t terribly hard, at least not on a ps3 controller. I know i dont have it 100% so i guess that doesn’t mean terribly much but i don’t feel that it would be impossibly difficult to learn if i practiced it every day (it’s easier to learn how to plink everyday than to try to hit a 1 frame link everyday). Also just to be sure: Did you check that you practiced it with someone that is actually able to be sweeped after tatsu xD? I would suggest trying it out on balrog (he has a very floaty fall) or sagat (he’s just big)
clxjames: quick question. what kind of software do you use for editing your vids. i really like the way they’re put together.
I bought a Dazzle Pro and it came with Pinnacle Studio 12
If you like those matches, wait until I finish my combo video. Should be up by tonight I recorded the last of the footage today
Looks like VLC. =D
For 25 bucks at Best Buy, it was a steal. The quality would get even better if my TV had a S-Video out jack
Wow…that is cheap. Good shit, ClxJames. How long does it take to do all the edits and upload to Youtube? Just curious.
Made a new video commentary, I suggest that newcomers check it out.

I just saw it and man, I totally understand what you’re saying about akuma forums, just have a look at the matchup thread =/
anyways, Im uploading a couple of casuals vs adon so u can see how Im handling the matchup and since few people have exp vs him, it could be a good idea. Also should be noted that was my 1st exp vs him as well, so…yeah.
they should be up in about 30 mins.
A few points for Predasus.
-
About 90% of the time you should end cross up tatsus with a sweep. It? gives you a Knockdown which is Akuma’s biggest weapon.
-
Air tatsus juggles your opponents. It gives you free shoryuken or sweep, whichever you decide is best for the situation.
-
Way too jump back fireballs. Akuma is at his best when he’s putting pressure on his opponent. Only use jump back fireballs when you’re playing defense while holding a lead.
-
Learn basic combos. Akumas easiest and most effective BnB combo is Standing HP>Light Tatsu> HP Shoryuken. Once you master that combo go into hit confirm confirm combos Cr.LP, Cr.LP, Cr.LP> Light Tatsu> HP Shoryuken and take it from there.
Hopes this helps.?

well here they are, my vs adon matches. basically here u can see why I was saying that, vs adon at mid rage is bad, he can react to your stuff with jaguar kicks (the rdp move) and has that standing roundhouse which is 2 hits. So basically this is like a chun matchup in a sense, you want to be either keep him away or right on his face since his wake up options are bad and punishable/stuffable, the only thing thats tricky vs him is how he stands up, which is quicker than most chars as most of you know, so I have to do everything a bit earlier on wake up. sometimes it seems that my special will miss but it barelly hits him on wakeup, I think thats important vs Adon or else you’ll end up eating tons of rising jaguars for free
Great vid, roog! When you were talking about sticking through it all and improve your footsies even if you lose to random XBL bullshit at first, I couldn’t help but think of my play of late where I’m trying to stick to mix ups only and losing nearly all my matches. Then after watching your vid, I realized what I’ve been doing wrong: I was having my best matches when I was sticking mostly to the ground and just trying to be solid, instead of trying to be fancy.
This is the kind of instruction I’ve been needing for a while now. Thanks for putting this up!

Worked pretty hard on this, lemme know what you think
