hahahahaha yeah haha i was like… omfg dude this guy got double perfected by the same basic Akuma haha TOASTY

Also, more vids. 2 of the 11 aren’t Akuma (messing around with Dan as the person was scrubby enough that i could give him a run for his money with my basic Dan) anyway good watch for anyone with about a half hour to kill. the link is to the play list. Towards the end of the set my game fell drastically and i didn’t even notice until i watched the videos i was just getting frustrated that he kept jumping away and running. i should have kept my cool and stuck to basic shit and nothing to fancy.

Damn that Bison player was beastly! Best moment in that vid though: “Ooooooooooooh! Double Focus Attack? That’s disrespecfull!!” Said with a thick Asian accent!

The Bison player is Brodsta_AU who is easily the best Bison player in the country (Australia) and definitely among our best players over all. The dude’s a beast. We play locals regularly and he’s a hard nut to crack.

The commentary is being done by a couple of my mates taking the piss out of that Chris Hu dude’s (awful) commentary. They nail the accent as they’re both Asian and have had a bit of practice mocking him - you probably can’t tell but during these matches but I was pissing myself laughing at a few moments

Yeah, I saw you chuckle after that comment. Wish I could’ve been there; the guys behind you seemed to be yukking it up pretty good, trying to get you distracted! On a side note, I saw you’re rockin’ the SE stick (just like me). What did you mod it with (aside from the obvious yellow ball top and color buttons)? I got sanwa parts for mine: JLF-TP-8YT-SK joystick (set to 8-way) and OBSF-30 buttons (3 red, 3 dark blue). I also wanted to mod the art on it, but I can’t seem to locate a shop that does “lami-labels” in Montreal.

@ MOJO:

Finally got around to seeing all the vids. And yeah, I guess everyone’s got potential, but after 11 matches he didn’t seem to get better, he was just basically throwing stuff around and seeing if it connects. You can’t even argue that the matches were laggy all that much (i’m sure they were, but nothing like what I had to play LoyalSol in, not that that was an excuse for my scrubiness against him… ). Also, if you hadn’t been screwing around yourself, I don’t think he would’ve lasted that long. Still, the one positive is that he didn’t give up even after taking 10 beatings (he won one set, right?).

I’ve fought plenty of good players online and then went in again for seconds (or even thirds) and I always try to improve or do things different against them, since I know what didn’t work the last game.

Yeah i will give him that. he did keep trying but he really wasnt improving much just seemed to run away more and more. it was frustrating. lag wasnt much of an issue. he did win one set vs my dan, and he DID beat my dan, my dan is not so refined but i love to screw around with him for shits and giggles. we had 3-4 bars for those fights. you and i should mirror match one of these days. im always down to record fights with people on my friends list.

That was a random setup I played some games on (i.e. not mine), I own a HRAP3 and a TE personally. I don’t mind the regular fight stick though. It actually has a clicky feel which I quite like. I have no idea if that stick was modded or anything though.

Hey guys, one of the first videos of me playing at the last tournament showed up. I hope you guys enjoy. I played a little wrecklessly since i knew that the dhalsim player didnt offer a real threat to me at that point. Re-watching the video i just saw i missed a lot of combos and a lot of succesful vortex’s. To the video then…

So urrm yeah…anyone wanna tell me what the thought of my kuma in these fights…you know the purpose of this thread and all.

On the geif video, maybe its a style of preference but I dont like to try the hk loop on geif, solely because if you eat a SPD thats 1/3 of your life. I play geifs allot safer but the geif you were playing didnt spam SPD (not a geif scrub). I supposed since it was casuals it wasnt his goto strategy. or hell maybe he just didnt know the matchup?

As for the blanka match. In my personal experience blanka is a very tough matchup. You seemed to handle it very well. Baiting lightning is kind of risky but it paid off for you. One thing I did notice is that you didnt counter/ultra when you blocked his ball. I have extensively practiced this and I can say I can counter a blocked ball with an ultra on reflex.

In general you seem to capitalize on your opportunities for combos which is a good thing. Things you might want to work on? Well, just keep practicing footsies, Its hard to give advice to ones peers, Id say that we are at about the same level.

Gamogo…good stuff…there was only 3 things I saw…1) combo after HK lands (cLK hits from helllla far away on bison but there were a couple of times where you would cLP-throw and once where you cLPx2 cMK->demon flip…bison’s I play dash under so mix it up with lk df to catch them off guard if they start…2)be patient when he has you in the corner…oh how bad that HK hurts from bison…Air tatsu is you best bet…3) you have good links…just confirm them into specials that do lots o dmg…You link cMP and cMK alot I wanna see the ex tatsu…other than that solid play (I watched the bison vid btw)

Yea I do play a kinda risky kuma at times. I’m to into beating peeps up with him and the hrd kick jab link on geif is really risky as well as baiting lightning with dps vs blanka but yea in tournies I’m much safer though. But I do need to work on punishing with demons instead of combos. Like when I block a dp and ill do a bnb combo instead of punishing the hell out of them with a raging. And punishing blanka balls is something I need to go to the lab on. But thanks for the tips

I find if the gief player isn’t playing sound fundamentals I don’t mind rushing them down a little more than normal, but against a good gief I am strictly hands off.

Did a first to 10 wins against a friend. Final match. Great ending I should say.

I just had a tinker with this - thanks for pointing it out. His hitbox extends quite far due to his stance I guess. Damn. I’m dropping c.lp against Bison, that’s for sure. Cheers!

absolutly right. i will rush the fuck out of a scrub geif and get double perfects. if they dont have their fundamentals down. ill destroy geif. shit just yesterday i had an “ok” geif match online. he started both rounds with a feirce green hand (i dashed back into bnb) didnt have to even block. he kept spaming lariat. i just kept dive kicking into bnb. its realy easy to pick apart a geif that isnt really good.

Link didnt work for me :frowning:

My bad.

Overall goo kuma, only thing is that you wasted a perfectly good ultra with that Kara demon. You should know better than to pull that after ex air hado. Also work on bnb after the far s.hk. I saw you hit him with both hits and didnt do anything afterwards. Kind of anticlimactic. Also great job ducking those fireballs, I do that all the time and its a great way to get in close if you predict them well enough.
