i have 1gb ram with a pentium 3 3.0 ghz
and ive tweaked it, it just slows down after 3-4 matches. Maybe they should sit down and emulate it properly rather than releasing it so fast

Enabling the multithreading actually helped. I do have to skip 8 out of 12 frames though but it is playable. Would this also affect anyone I play online because there is no way I want to subject anyone or be subjected to severe lag.
My processor would overheat while running MAME “could be other’s problems too”, I guess I finally figured it out, but yeah plays 100% now.
If anyone is running mega slow, it’s probably because your processor isn’t fast enough, seriously my pc’s amd 2500+ cannot run 100%, but my shit storm laptop does.
I have a 1.8 core 2 duo and 1gb of ram. If I turn off throttle and enable multithreading, the game literally runs at twice it’s normal speed. If I don’t enable multithreading but still have throttle turned off it’ll run at it’s normal speed. With multithreading, it doesn’t matter what I do to attempt to slow down the game, it won’t. I’ve tried all the Image Enhancements and without Multithreading they slow down MAME dramatically but with multithreading, it kicks ass.
So yeah, if your processor supports multithreading: go for it. Multithreading + throttle will solve all your speed woes, but odds are if your CPU can’t run it without multithreading it’s jank and doesn’t even have multithreading.
omg, alpha-Hugo!
Now what we really need is hackers testing 3s throughly. I bet that there are hidden/beta frames, or even rejected moves
in the 3s gamest mook there where a lot of early sketches with moves that never made it
maybe there’s Shin Gouki as well
maybe you can give Ibuki the mighty hashin-sho again
From Haze:
“this is a slightly more optimized version of the driver thats in 0116u3 anyway. I havent attempted to fix any bugs in it, and there shouldnt be any new bugs either. Its just a little faster, decoding tiles only when theyre needed etc.”
What does one do with this file?
To all the people not getting full speed with MAME, let me tell you a little bad news.
Currently, the CPS3 MAME driver is configured to run the SH-2 CPU at an underclocked speed of 10MHz rather than the full 24MHz due to development.
What does this mean? It means sooner or later the MAME team are going to emulate the SH2 at full speed and that means those who are getting poor speeds now are going to find matters much worse. This info is from HAZE himself who is a mamedev.
If you have a dual core CPU then you have nothing to worry about. The slowdowns that occur in CPS3 games are also due to the underclocked SH-2.
Its best for those with slow PCs to stick with ElSemi’s CPS3 emu and hope he adds netplay soon.
Yes! That helped…thank you
Okay which is better nebular emulator or mame bottom line.
Also because i dont feel like looking through this whole thread. Does nebula support online play or should i just use kailleira
Nebula does not support netplay yet. From the posts it appears Mame emulates 3s more accurate than Nebula?
OH EM GEE. is this on ElSemi’s emulator?
and how did you get him?
Its on MAME and I got him via a memory hack. Chun-Li’s portrait shows in the Vs. and victory screens
aw, nutsacks. can’t play it on mame because of missing stuff. rawrghs.
oh well, sometime in the future, maybe.
Shin Akuma whats the difference? background looks cool.
how do u find these? is it trial and error of different codes
Snowe= nebula or the cps3 emulator as its called is better, but only mame supports online
**I use both and I prefer the bulky mame version now. It seems to have better sound emulation for my harwarde. But it also loads up slower and has netplay enabled.
CPS3 emulator is more processor friendly. Both have the same graphical fixes that have been applied over the past week and both have save state options. So it’s up to you what you want to use. Netplay or for a Slow PC.**
str[e]ak, MAME has pretty much caught upto ElSemi’s emulator so it really isn’t missing stuff anymore.
MaybeMemories, so far the only thing I’ve noticed is the double air fireball. Any other differences I should be looking for?
Finding the codes for hidden stuff like this is a bitch. It does involve trial and error but also involves knowing what a certain memory region is allocated to in-game and then setting watchpoints on certain areas or values and checking them, poking them etc.
Time consuming too :shy:
oh, i know it has. i just can’t run 3rd strike on mame because of me missing stuff. lol.
It would be really cool if somehow we could replace 3s backgrounds for NG and 2ndI backgrounds. Prolly really hard to do though, huh?
