RWD: Many thanks for the link. I’m gonna try to resolve my issue with that info.

Kyokuji: Stop beaing an ass. I posted here because in case you haven’t noticed, even when people make their own threads, questions rarely get answered if at all. I posted here because this thread was active.

‘Eh, theres’ plenty of help topics on the front page that have over 5 replies.

Latly Godweapon has been PLAGUED by rude ass mofos in SFA3, and I’m starting to get tired of the same ole thing. I heard tomass was making a list, if so where is this posted so I can avoid these people?

First of all, if you use autofire, dont lie about it, it doesnt even bother me if you do use it. Becuase when I beat you while not using it myself, it says alot about your skills. Its a handicap, so I guess it will level the playing field againts those who are better than you.

Second, when you leave, you should always say last game right before character select screen, so it gives the other player a chance to pick his best if he so wishes. Taking advatage of the fact that he pics a character he dosent normally use (Or isnt one of the characters he was winning with) then beating him and shouting OWNED right before you drop is just a sign of how much of a scrub you are.

Also, if you want to pick chars like Gief, Chun, and Mika, and just do their cheapest moves over and over, dont think ur the shit becuase you can catch people off gaurd and abuse them verbally for it.

If people would have less of an ego, be less self sentered, drop the pride, and have a little empathy(wow, this is America, I know its hard for you people but you can do it!), then people might actually be able to make friends and learn how to play better.

I know there are people who’s sole purpose for playing is to win, at any cost. I’m not like that, unless I want to prove a point or win a tourny. I play for fun and I respect all who play me, untill the diss me first.

Yeah, but sometimes not picking their best is a way to protect their ego. That way, they can say “I lost but I wasn’t using my best character”, it gives them an excuse and I think that’s lame. If you are trying new characters, it’s ok, but if all of a sudden when the other guy says “last game” you switch to your best character, it only means that you are trying to prove something.

Oh and let me tell you that you will find the exact same type of idiots on european servers, it’s universal. When I first started playing on kaillera I would always argue with them, now I simply ignore them and move on.

I say jsut let the assholes be assholes there just games which shouldnt be takien al lserious and shit

So picking best char = trying to prove something, not picking best char = protecting ego, funny I never felt one way or the other no matter who I pick. I just try to win, are we playing street fighter or psychology fighter?

Note that I said “sometimes” and that I was talking about a particular situation (changing char all of a sudden because you know it’s the last game).

And yes, I like street fighter AND psychology fighter :).

Being a chun player on godweapon is a crime. I’m either going to have to learn a new character or stop playing a3, because recent games I’ve been having players have been getting an attidude with or “looking down on” me. I don’t play the game that much and I try to have fun, but when the other player is saying mean stuff or getting pissed its hard to.

People are cheaping with Mika now? I mean, how? The most picked a3 fighters on kal(atleast when i played on it), HARD counter Mika.

So there’s now cheap Mikas, and autofire A-Guys.

Order must be restored. Wait like 2 months.

What are these cheap moves? There’s a difference between using really good moves over and over, and using lag tactics that wouldn’t work normally, over and over (which I assume is what you mean).

Some people find it fun to play the way you said…playing to win while abusing the cheapest moves is fun to them.

Gief: splash. jump down+fierce. Such a dominate move in general, for some characters the timing is strict to counter it. On kal, timing your stops for a gief splash is 10x harder than gief doing the splash itself. Some characters have to crouch jab it, and the timing is hella deep and kal is annoying with that. Splash is BRAINDEAD on kal.

Chun: jump short. stand fierce. crouch roundhouse. repeat, throw in cross up jump short to start it for good measure. Switch stand fierce for a throw instead. The mixup on it’s own causes mad GC damage. Then you super when their guard is crushed.
There are reversal timings in between Chun’s pokes but with kal’s lag it’s harder than what chun is doing. Offline this shit doesn’t fly cause people activate in her fucking face. But on kal it’s much easier to do, and BRAINDEAD on kal.

Soon i’ll get posts by people saying that it’s not that easy to do that shit with Chun and Gief. Bullshit, it’s easy on kaillera.

OFFLINE these tactics work, but have to be fucking thoroughly thought out. Cause people don’t have a hard time stopping that bs, when their moves actually come out when executed. It sucks that a tactic that is actually decent, is used but the stops for it is just too strict, and people get comfortable in their kaillera zone.

EDIT: kaillera v-ism users: Tell me, how many times has gief jumped at you with a splash, you hit activate only to get splashed in the face? How many times have you watched the chun you’re fighting go from stand fierce to the crouch roundhouse, you trying to activate in between the crouch roundhouse… only to get SWEPT??

Point exactly. Activating V only takes 2 buttons. And on kaillera sometimes you gotta MASH it in order for it to actually come out, and then it comes out 2 seconds later(am I exaggeratting the time? who knows).

This is true. I don’t really know the tiers to this game aside v-akuma and v-ryu or something, so I usually pick either Karin or Cammy, but one time I was playing and I thought, “Hey, since I play Chun in ST, why not give her a whirl?”

The minute I picked her, the guy I was playing started talking mad shit to me with things like, “Only scrubs play her, she’s a noob character, etc…”

I’m trying to get into A3, but with people like this out there, it’s not very welcoming. =/

Chunli is a very dangerous character, and she’s certainly not low tier. I consider her mid/high mid. I have some match videos featuring Kenji, who I beleive is the best chunli player in Japan. You can see him play against top players using top tier characters and he does really well.

I also think that she’s -relatively- easy to use, and here’s why :

  • her crossup is a nightmare. Its hitbox it fucking huge so you don’t have to position yourself very precisely to do it

  • she has an easy, very effective mixup :

crossup lk -> hp -> cr. hk
-> crossup lk -> (same as above…)
-> throw

This alone can drive you crazy.

  • fast walking speed, which makes it very easy to catch the opponent off guard

  • her cr.hk is too good. Comes out fast, huge hitbox and can be used as an almost universal anti air

Add the online lag and you have one of the biggest bitches on earth.

However I don’t look down on people just because they use her, and I will respect a chunli player’s skills if I think he uses her well.

amen brother amen

i am making a list i have about 10 on it right now. and i couldn’t agree with you more about the zangief, cunt li, and rmika bullshit. people do not understand that there is absolutley NO skill involved in any of those characters. unless your doing crouch cancel vism otgs and the like. and i can definatley assure you that 99% of the scrubs that choose these characters don’t know an otg from the hole in their ass.

but anyways man next time i see you i will give you that list, maybe you have some fresh new names to add to it.

later

I completely agree with you here. I love SFA3 when I play it on PS. I considered myself to be a good player as Street Fighters were always my best fighting games. I decided to give it a try on Kaillera and all I met were Zangief’s and Chun-Li’s. I mean when I lost I did not really make much of it but then I kept trying and realised that no matter what I did I could not stop those moves on Kaillera. I do not mind losing as it helps me learn something but all this helped me do was realise that I could not stop it. This gets frustrating quickly so now I only play SFA3 offline with people around campus. Also, the SFA3 people I have played online seem to be rather ill-mannered. I mean the nonsense they do would never work on me offline but they insist on typing “noob” and “OWNED” when all they do is spoil the fun of the game.

Only problem I get is people saying cheap everytime I use strider’s super.

Other than that I pretty much face friendly people, or people who don’t chat at all.

Let me just throw this out there for the hell of it, because it’s happened to me numerous times and I’m not sure which way I truely feel about this. This is related to the people who only know like 2 or 3 chars really well. Sometimes I’ll encounter an opponent who is obviously far above my skill level with a particular character. Now that’s all good and well, and I’ll take a beating for a while, but when it becomes apparent I don’t have much of a chance of ever winning… I usually state it (and I’m a pretty good sport most of the time, hell several people here have given some good 20 streaks in Garou, and I’m not complaining).

But my question is… what is the expected courtesy on the other side of the fence. Should the person simply play for fun and pick a new character? Should they stick by the “law of the quarter” and insist on being beaten first, even if they joined your game? Or should the person just say GGs and leave allowing you to find a new opponent? Because honestly I don’t see the fun for either person when it’s so one sided. Or does fun have nothing to do with this? Is it all about being the best? and if so… would the best even stick around long enough to drill a less experienced player that far into the ground without even a word of advice?

Personally, if I beat a person more than 5 times with a character, I usually switch up just to be fair. Or I’ll give them some tips so they can learn why I’m doing so well. Yet a majority of the time I almost never see this out any of my opponents, especially the ones that are hardcore framedata freaks with a license to kill. :lovin:

so what are your thoughts?

P.S. I hate people who own you up hard, say nothing the entire time, then say “last one” as if they’ve grown tired and awefully bored of you. While that may be true, I’d rather someone say, “well I gotta go” or “ggs, cya around”, “last one” comes across as just being an ass.

they keep playing you hoping you’ll learn something

or they’re having fun

or both

that’s why i do eeeet

I tend to have a lot of fun with people who play random, only because I so oft play random and you get to have matches with characters that a lot of people just never pick in some games.

But I don’t think there is any established proper etiquette when it comes to such online. I certainly wouldn’t be offended if a person told me to give him a break a few rounds.

God, why can’t I fight you guys on Kaillera? I can’t stand people online sometimes, they take shit so seriously that they forget they play the game because it’s fun.
