Multiple themes for training stage. Especially. if they allow it in tournament play.
So, I was checking the following video (I know the game sucks) and from 1:00:00 onwards, you can see a Demitri show. When he does the quick recovery, instead of standing up from the ground, he recovers behind some bats. How more badass can it get? I’m thinking Bison would do the same: No falling to the ground, he just Psycho Warps into his standing animation.
Not necessarily a cosmetic thing, but how about the speed up of the music when you have like 10/5% HP left like in SF2 days?
When I listen to Akuma’s theme from SSF2THDR and then it gets sped up near the end of a round, it sounds really damn good and creates tension well, which the OST in SF5 so far doesn’t do at all
I think they tried that in SFIV and it hurt the game more than it helped, IMO. I know what you’re asking for is a bit different than what they did in SFIV, but still.
So, you’re halfway into the match and about to listen to the best part of the track and the opponent does his Ultra. Then it’s like another track starts playing. I think they’re going for the same thing in SFV. Not sure.
Dear Capcom, here are some of the epic stage backgrounds design. Hopefully these will inspire you to create more awesome stages!
If they have multiple personal action, that will be great. It was fun to see what I unlocked.
Bring back the CvS2 announcer.
Recently, like they did with Cammy, they changed Chun-Li’s face in newer builds. I think she looked great, better even, in the old build we got in the beta. Now here eyes and mouth are way smaller for some reason.
I’m sure a lot of people have said this, but make the hair look better. And just revamp Ken’s whole head.
Bigger hitflash, with a different sound effect, on counter hits so that they’re more confirmable. I like how in GGXXAC you got a big red flash whenever you got a counter hit.
Blue flash when Ryu successfully lands a parry.
Include all of Chun-Li’s fireball throwing animation from throughout the franchise, one for each fireball strength. Didn’t SF4 already do this? IDR
This probably falls outside of the scope of “small touches”, but I think this is a gorgeous game with some pretty bad character designs. All the redesigns of old characters and the new characters suck by Street Fighter standards.
I wonder if it is possible to get away with having the characters themselves be announcers (See DOA series reference).
It might be possible to showcase very short character-specific intros before the match begins.
Kind of affects gameplay but different hit effect color when a counterhit connects. I shouldn’t be watching the edges of the screen during frame traps, your eyes should remain on the point of action whenever possible.
Some NPCs appearing in win poses would be cool. Like how Cody would get chased off my Edi E or Karin’s butler patching up the opponent.
Street Fighter 3: Ryu and Ken brofist.
Why not? Xrd and BlazBlue do it, surely Capcom can too
Best aesthetic AND sound design awards go to 3S, Alpha 3 and CVS2.
I don’t mind what SF5 is doing, but that’s about as far as it’s ever going to go. I’m just not pumped by the visual design at all, it’s way too bland. The announcer is okay I guess, especially with Perfect KO, that’s pretty hype, but nothing comes CLOSE to Alpha 3’s “Triumph or Die!”
I agree, Alpha 3 was spot on with the visual and sound stuff. Shit was just hype all over! CvS2 comes next. I don’t like 3S’ hiphop vibes at all, but the visuals were definitely top-notch for its time.
3S wasn’t as hype as A3 or CVS2, but it definitely had a cool vibe all around. Really did like the 3S battle SFX though, meaty sounds, best Super activation and KO sounds as well. There’s very little that compares in terms of pure satisfaction as landing Hugo’s Gigas Breaker for the KO.
If only that delicious 3S sprite art was used for a legit SF cast
How about a meaty notification when an attack connects of the first vulnerable frame after wake up, the same way you get reversal, counter and cross-up notifications.

would be solid DLC, and might justify the weak-ass announcer they got going on right now.
The announcer in Alpha 3 was annoying. Do not go back to that.
Annoying to you but for me, he basically hyped me to play another match
