another thing i’d like to add - if you have multiple accounts on your ps4, i hope that the dlc characters will be unlocked on all accounts once purchased (even through grinding).
Agreed it would be really dumb to have these stage transitions from the first trailer and simply never say anything. If they were smart, these transitions are a surprise for the retail release. These guys had 1.5 years since that reveal to work on these things. If they don’t make it to retail, they either ran out of money or it wasn’t feasible. They should remove the China stage transition then because it makes no sense to have only one stage with it.
Noodle bowling someone was like the highlight of the last beta for me though. I took both rounds though, so I just saw it fall on a Nash, didn’t actually get to see him fight with it on. Fighting in the dining room of the restaurant was really cool. I wish I’d gotten a screengrab of the defeat pose. I feel like it’s ok that not all the stages have this feature - it sort of justifies it to me that only 1 side of the screen can be broken through, the right on the uk stage, or the left on the crowded downtown. Also only the downtown has 2 breakthrough points that I know of, so it isn’t about consistency, it just means crowded downtown is the coolest stage.
I think DKOs giving* both* players the round is just based on the fundamental idea that you get a round if you empty the other guy’s lifebar. Ergo, if both players empty the opponent’s at once, you both get a round.
I hear you but at the same time Cybernator makes a lot of sense.
I suppose if the tie means you both have 2 there should be a tie-breaker round but to change the very sound logic of “deplete health bar = score a round” seems unfair.
Well in fighting games your primary target is not just to deplete opponent’s health bar but to achieve victory as well. If both players deplete each other’s HP - they can’t both be winners, therefore the logic of “KO = score a round” does not work here. The game should either automatically extend the match by 1 round if a Double KO happens, or give a Doulbe KO message without giving either player a round, or they both count as losers and the match is restarted until there’s a certain victor
I can’t count how many times the Double KO in its current iteration fucked over both players in a tournament
Fix all the insane amount of clipping in VS screen and during matches.
The stages/NPCs are horrendously low quality textures and polycounts currently, like ridiculous to the point of it being very distracting seeing the contrast from the better looking main characters as you are playing.
The stillscreen character story art is abysmal, them shouting out Bengus nonstop is not helping, it just makes Bengus look like he’s some 12yr old doing fan art, and doesn’t represent his ability. Clear rush job.
Inconsistencies all over the place, like some stages clearly looking of higher quality than others visually, and only 1 stage having transitions. Just pure low budget/time constraint sloppiness yet again.
Performance needs tons of work. It still takes too long to transition from screens like the VS screen. Slowdown still happens on PS4 in training while waiting for a ranked/casual match, making it impossible to practice.
Are trials even gonna be in there at launch? Is there a Team Battle mode?(I know it was abandoned by players later, but while you could find lobbies in the early days of SSF4, it was actually fun and I used it.)
I’m on PS4, but controller support for PC players is trash currently. They easily could use Lab Zero’s driver again like USF4 & MKX did, but hmm, I wonder why they’re still debating this so late?(hint:new Madcatz gear-$)
I think what would work is extend the round by 20 sec or something and give both players like 10% life back. Kind of like what MKX does when there’s a double KO.
It’s been suggested that Alex is part of a CG sequence rather than an example of in-game graphics. If he isn’t, then Capcom’s quality control department has hit a new low.
The boots don’t match SF5’s anime-esque aesthetic and that is my gripe. The graphics need to be consistent, but so does the art style and here both the art style and the quality of the graphics are dissonant.
