Me too…you would think this would be super polished given <1 month before release. My only thoughts are either 1) they don’t give a fuck and are happy with said sloppiness or 2) there is a much improved build of the game that no one outside of the company has seen yet. Considering there’s much we haven’t seen yet/ story mode, stages, full game intro/title track, I hope it’s the latter.
This is real a small annoyance but I hope they give nacalli claws/nails. They don’t need to be like vega’s but nacalli is slashing…with meat nubs it doesn’t make sense.
It’s Necalli. I don’t like going all grammar and stuff on people but his name is plastered on capcom sponsored products and videos literally everywhere. It’s not nicalli or nacalli or nikili. Its necalli, PLS
I hope there’s other announcers you can unlock or DLC, even ones from older games would be pretty cool. I liked the idea of the character voices in GGXRD can be the announcers too, wouldn’t really care for that in SFV but just a change from what’s the default would be a nice option.
I haven’t personally seen any of the recent beta’s…Have some of the recurrent issuues: Poor graphics on NPC’s, Stage Resolution, Hair Clipping, etc been improved as far as ya’ll can tell? We are two weeks from release–I hope they put some time into polishing the game.
Ken’s face and hair look definitely look better this last beta. Besides that, I am inclined to believe the bad textures, shading, and low resolution stuff will remain intact. Honestly, as much as I love this franchise I hope critics pick up on these nuisances and grill Capcom for them. Some of these are not acceptable and should never be for a AAA game in 2016. What makes it worse is how people have pointed these out time and time again (like the P2 gravity glitch in the select screen) but are still in the game.
To people who say graphics don’t matter, well tough shit because they actually do. There is a ever evolving standard and it costs 60 dollars per unit, stick to it or reprice accordingly.

Yup and bad graphics/glitches pull you out of the game. It ruins the immersion. How can you take Necalli seriously when his dreads disappear into the floor. They have no excuse to have not fixed these issues unless its an UNREAL Engine 4 flaw that they truly can’t address.
small nitpick that bothers me is the clipping of certain characters in the select screen, particularly Rashid & Ken, Birdies not as much, but kens hair goes through his shoulder on the right side lol, and Rashids backback goes through his head wear.
It seems like Capcom messed up everything when it comes to hair. When Necalli gets KO’d in V trigger his hair should revert to normal. It looks silly to see him laid out but his hair is still floating upwards and glowing. Also I don’t know if it’s just the settings on my tv but the shadows on the characters appear to have a dotted, pointillism like pattern. It looks terrible. I know it has been said a bunch of times, but more character interactions beyond just win quotes would be great. Character pairings like Ryu & Ken, Chun & Cammy, Mika & Zangief should have unique intros (and ideally unique win poses as well) when facing each other rather the same generic ones they have for the rest of the cast.
I liked in SF3 how when the final round ended in a double KO judges would determine a winner. I’m not sure what the criteria for determining the winner was but it was a cool touch.
As far as I can see, the only reason Color Edit failed as bad as it did in SFxT is because Capcom locked the color choices to only a few, as well as added those god-awful shiny/glowing variations.
Give us the full spectrum (000000 to FFFFFF) of color options, and make it so that only a few sections can be colored (so basically only things like clothing and hair), and finally keep the original specular/bloom of the material, and I think it would go over much better.
I wish the character portraits in the HUD actually reflected your current color palette or costume. UMvC3 did a good job with this, along with some older games like 3S.
^Stage animations are 30fps or sub-30fps. it’s a performance thing. While letting PC players unlock that would be kind of ok, this is really something we only notice when the round comes to an end, innit? I think it’s fine the way it is, just to not tax the performance too much and have more stage elements going around.
No, I don’t want a shitty looking game, but you clearly don’t know the meaning of the word “Immersion”. Just because something looks like shit (like the clipping you mentioned) and you notice it looks like shit, that’s not ruining your “immersion”. That’s ruining your overall opinion and enjoyment of the aesthetic component of the game, which is fair.
My point was, “immersion” is a word that doesn’t really have a place in a game like Street Fighter, as it is not meant to be immersive, compared to games with a complex world atmosphere supported by audiovisual aspects, characters, situations, etc.
But I agree with you, the clipping, as it is in the game, is not excusable. SFIV looked like buttcheeks in my opinion, and it has less clipping issues than this game.
If I had to contribute to the topic (even though, hah, this is capcom, they don’t really care):
>Aformentioned clipping issues need to be minimized
>Remove Red/Blue distinction in the lifebars.
>Reconsider the style for the hair models. The chunky look is not working too well. I’m not saying go all TresFX on it, but sculpt it more carefully and with a few smaller “strands”. This, is not happening.
>Not cosmetic, but the announcer is rather… lackluster. I guess he just lacks a bit of cheese, like all good announcers have (3s, Alpha2, CvS2).
And I think that’s it. I’m not fond of the overall style of the character models, but this is definitely leaps and bounds better than SFIV, so I’m happy with what they’ve done on that front.
