I still love sf4 even after going 0-33, jewel showed me how to poke in a whole new way lol, like I said jerry, I dont mind picking up adam and jesse to play at yours or phelps, its just a matter of them having a way back since I need to work
I’m new to the scene, but my house is always open for gatherings. I got plenty of equipment, just needs the bodies.
Thursdays isn’t a bad day so to speak, but i work M-F 8-5, and sometimes the last thing i want to do is make the trek out to Annaville knowing i gotta make it into work the next morning. I used to live in Calallen and have grown to detest that drive.
I haven’t played mvc3 more than an hour in the last couple days just cause I’m sick and tired of training mode and the online lag. It does lead to a lack of motivation. Its easy to see why Jerry is so frustrated. As for myself, I learn more from a night of ass whoopings from you guys than i do beating up a CPU in training mode.
Seems like gathering location is a big factor here. It’s harder to get rides out to Calallen, longer drive, people are showing up less, etc. which can de-motivate people from practicing. Seems like Jerry’s been pretty much the only one offering a place to play at though, but I could be wrong. Maybe MvC3 just didn’t catch on as well down here as other games have. I know some people here have told me they haven’t been going to gatherings as much because “they’ll just be playing MvC3.” It is the new tournament game though.
Personally, I’ve just been really busy and MvC3 doesn’t really interest me on a competitive level. I’ve just been playing Super SF4 for the most part. However, I’m more than glad to help out in any way I can - whether it be to run some tournaments or help out with an additional gathering location.

I’ll admit my availability sucks, but I’m all for helping out the scene in whatever way I can. I would offer to host gatherings but it’d only be until around midnight which people probably don’t want. I’m always down to give a ride or bring a setup though (as long as someone lets me know before I get there). If people are complaining about MvC3 I always bring SSF4, BB:CS, NGBC, MvC2, HDr, SF2HF, VF5, GG#R, Tekken 6, and occasionally my laptop with like 20+ fighters (including shitty Ougon Musou which I got because playing crappy Japanese only fighting games makes you super hardcore and shit) so there are other options.
I’d like to some day get good enough at MvC3 to beat Jerry out at least one fucking game but I don’t learn shit in training mode.
EDIT: My bad about not responding last Thursday, I was out of town and didn’t think about it.

Not really sure what that’s about. Real life has caught up with me and I haven’t had the time to play competitively anymore. I’m aware my input probably doesn’t mean anything since I don’t play anymore, but I do care about the scene here and will continue to help out and support it however I can as I’ve always done in the past. Good luck in Dallas and with the job interviews, I might have to be looking for one soon too since the University is facing budget cuts here 
I’m able to host a gathering on Monday if anyone’s interested, just let me know. If anyone wants to go but needs a ride, I can try to help out with that too.

Jewel is too money at super I used to be decent going at him I’m just straight garbage now. Its not cause Iv’e gotten worse its just he keeps getting better. He really is walkin proof if you want it bad enough you can become a top player in anything you devote yourself too. I’ve seen him log countless hours in t mode and online matches he lived breathed and shitted street fighter. He’s an inspiration for anyone wanting to come up. I know some people think just chilling in t mode is boring but honestly if thats all you got use it. Cause if you don’t when you do show up to gatherings the other player is gonna touch you once and combo your ass till your dead.
Short story short level yourself up then at the gatherings you will level more. But you won’t hang unless you put in the effort.
Also Robert is like a god. I can’t stress that enough. Cosplaying as Robert at Evo who’s down??
I dont have the mass to cosplay as robert.
