I agree. I assume their ‘main’ was Phoenix or some other high execution character though, so they might not know all the timings for all the spacings/hitboxes for Taskmaster.
Still, if you’re going to miss his BnB, you might as well go for the easier version and get 630k damage instead of 300kish on a dropped combo.
2 hypers for 700k dmg aint really practical but if it means killing off an important enemy i suppose the option would be nice but i get like 680k off his BnB combo for 1 Meter so…
That combo was just to show what you could do if the opponent switches sides during your BnB. That follow-up is not specific to that combo and works at the end of the normal BNB. Again, that’s just a way to get more damage IF the opponent switches sides after your launch.
EDIT: What BnB are you using that only gives 680k damage? The BnB I use gives 727k damage for 1 meter.
Been playing Tasky a lot online and I really love his playstyle. With the right assists, Spidey Swing offense is really scary. His BnBs aren’t too difficult to do either.
j.H has an awesome hitbox behind it. You could jump over someone and use it somewhat late and it’ll hit and you can combo from that. Particularly good against short characters because you can do it when you’re practically touching the ground.
So I just invented a corner only reset for Taskmaster with Trish’s Peekaboo assist, it’s insanely hard 50-50 mix up to get out of (it makes them drop in the air, a jump forward air grab hits instantly, but if they try to tech it and I hit a button instead they get hit; still testing if there are any loop holes for people to get out), and I invented a variant in the corner for it that does 570k+370k, enough to kill any average health character.
Well, with Spooty’s combo, this reset now works from anywhere, as any hit takes them to the corner into the reset. Godlike :wonder:
For the reset, just do any combo that normally ends on OTG arrow > assist > super and replace the assist with Trish’s peekaboo, they will tech in the air super awkward and you can literally instantly air grab them. Alternatively, you can hit them with cr.M to low profile mashing or hit them low. Seems really strong.
EDIT: Seems like a forward tech will get out of it unless specifically called out. Bummer :[
Well, the reset covers 2 of the three options they have to get out. That’s really good. And you can probably set-up yourself to stop a forwards tech if you think the opponent will do that.
Yeah, but if it doesn’t cover all of them, I’ll definitely stop using it once people understand it. I’d take knockdown where I can half cover all options thanks to assist over half-knockdown that can only cover what is called out, usually.
Still an evil reset if people aren’t looking for it
Just thinking out loud on what could counter really good Assists like Tron’s Flame, Akuma’s Tatsu, Haggar’s Lariat. Can Tasky use his Counter Super to counter those Assists, and is he safe while doing so (as in, you caught the Assist and not the Point character) or does he need to DHC out of there?
