So? Arthur is slow, has no way to control his air trajectory, and can’t dash…and yet, he still looks really good in certain cases. Task, by comparison to, like I said Arthur (or even the complexed looking Spencer), will do just fine.
no, thats reaching. dhalsim has 8 way and so does iron man and doom. fast dashes will definitely help, does task have an AD? i havent seen it from him
But Arthur has how many different projectiles? Not counting gold armor, pretty potent spam strategy there. With gold armor, even more dangerous. Yeah, Task’s big flaw looks to be his mobility in general. Has pretty safe normals(except for the leaping sword), good damage, nice defensive moves, high health and seems to have plenty of options for combos but his mobility does worry me as well.
if this game develops like mvc2 did, he could end up being a low tier tourney monster lol
Well, for playstyle purposes, Arthur will probably be a zoning, projectle character. A MvC3 Guile without proper footsies, if you will. Taskmaster will the jack-of-all-trades type character…from the looks of things.
But what if everything you mention’d about Taskmaster turns out true…then low mobility is the least of his concerns. Come on, be realistic. He’s gotta have some type of flaw. And the way you describe him…sounded just like Vanilla SFIV Sagat. (That’s a bold assumption, but it matches his background.)
Have faith. He’ll be good…hopefully.
I’m trying to avoid thinking of MvC3 in terms of MvC2. I don’t think this game will go the same as MvC2 did, but it’ll be played like it was MvC2 for a while until its own identity forms.
You’d be surprised how many people are going to be like “Who the hell is taskmaster?!” on release day
That ultimately doesn’t matter though unless you’re only playing the game to play with your favorite character from a franchise, not simply playing someone with a good moveset or design. Modok is probably even less known than Taskmaster. Trish is also a very odd choice. Just about everyone knows who Dante is, and many know who Nero is, but I completely forgot about her. Then again, I also didn’t watch the anime, so maybe she was a mainstay character in that.
i know a lot of people getting it for that reason
besides if you hate how a character looks
no matter how they play
you’ll never change your opinion
that character will always be a ugly stupid piece of crap
like Crimson Viper sure some people will play her but that doesn’t mean there won’t be a load of people hating her because of her dumb hairstyle(not to mention her KO Scream in SF4/SSF4 is unbearably loud)
if you know where a character comes they’re origin and have what media they come from(comics/games)
and like them then that won’t change
but if you have never heard of the character until now and don’t like him/her
then someone trying to change your mind by introducing you to where they originally came from won’t make you think differently
maybe a little but no matter what the character will always take backseat to those you recognize and love
ps.playing someone just because they have a good moveset or that they look powerful is usually for the more competitive people who want to win yeah they might hate dante’s guts but if they want to win then they’ll use him to do so if they think he’s good enough same with others like him
Depends on the person. I personally do not like the “evil Humpty Dumpty” look that is Modok, but he looks like an awesome character anyway. Plus, he’ll give me the rage inducing bonus I need when I pick Modam. I am mostly with you on Viper though. I’ve always hated her “KoF reject” look and have no idea why Capcom went that route when “designing a character for Americans”. She’s got a great move set, but I’ve just never been into her.
Still though, SRK isn’t really a site that is about casual play, so I’m not really sure why this matters. Anyone who is truly competitive will end up trying out new characters eventually, known or unknown, especially if they repeatedly get stomped by them.
i just believe Taskmaster will be The Marrow of this game
by that i mean
he’ll have just about the same response
when the average gamer see’s him
This affects your enjoyment of the character in what way? It’s almost like the reverse of people saying they won’t be able to play Dante just because “everyone else” will be playing him.
He also won’t be anything like Marrow unless he’s just mediocre. The reason almost no one played Marrow wasn’t because she was so obscure, but because she just didn’t have what it took to hang with the top 20. I didn’t know who a handful of the people were in MvC2 initially (SonSon for example), but I ended up trying them out specifically because of that. I was tired of seeing the same sprites over and over again…yet other than Cable, those ended up being what I played with the most in the end.
not having a LV3 Hyper Combo also sucks…
not HAVING or not KNOWING the level 3 hyper combo
if he had a LV3 hyper combo
we would of already seen it
but we’ve only seen his arrow hyper combo and his counter hyper
Him not having a level 3 shouldn’t matter too much unless you’re frequently finding yourself with him as your last character alive. But then that just seems like you’re not up to the task…
it won’t
his arrow hyper combo seems fine anyways
just saying
would of been cool to get one
OH SHIT, didn’t realise until now. We have only seen 2 supers. His supers have been like deadpools so far, arrow(guns) air arrow(airguns) counter super(counterlvl3) but that’s only 2 and all characters have 3, hence why deadpool has his slash super too.
I wonder what it’ll be
i am not sure he even has a LV3 Hyper combo
after all what could it be?
If I recall correctly, I think Lupinko said he didn’t have a level 3.
