Copy THIS! The Taskmaster thread!

The characters in this game are either humorous or overly serious/flamboyant to the point of self-parody, with maaaaaaaybe Chris as an exception. Do you really think the Punisher would fit? I know I sure don’t.

What are you trying to justify? That, in your opinion, character X deserves to be in over character Y? How do you measure “deservability”? They were introduced first, they are popular, you like them?

If overlapping playstyles is an issue, why are you singling out Taskmaster and not other characters for either being keepaway, rushdown or grapplers? And what would Punisher add that isn’t already in MvC3?

Right now, the roster looks great with variety. Even if the characters came out of left field, they don’t look like a waste. It’s not like they added Bone Claw and Adamantium Claw Wolverine, even Ryu and Akuma play different enough to fill different niches. Heaven forbid they give us more than 1 character that rushes down, grapples or plays keep away.

You failed to address either of those points though. You claim Taskmaster is too obscure without seeming to have any problems with other obscure characters, you claim his playstyle is too overlapping without saying who he replicates.

As for why no Punisher? I’d guess because he’s bland and we already have several gun oriented characters in this game.

Ok, jokes aside. Fine.
You want Punisher over Taskmaster, correct? On the basis that Taskie doesn’t suit the game, it seems.

But Punisher is just Chris Redfield, without a girlfriend. So he’d be a WORSE option to include than Taskmaster!

Taskmaster is:

  • A bow-wielder, something we do not yet have
  • A chance to reference characters (B.K, Hawkeye) who are not making it into the game.
  • While he has a Spider-man move and a Captain-A move etc: he plays pretty differently (looks more like a trap-less Trish with a combo-extender and more ranged attacks)

Its the Super-Skrull factor. Why would they use up slots on having multiple gun/sword/martial arts characters, ie Daredevil, Punisher, Hawkeye, when they could just put in Taskmaster and use the remaining slots for something completely different. And its hardly fair to call someone out as a troll when YOU’RE the one going into the thread full of Taskmaster fans saying that you’re favorite character deserved to be in over mine.

QFT

It would be a little less trolly if you were in general discussion but that doesn’t mean you are right no matter what thread you are in.

The Punisher could have AHVB :frowning:

Why do you make it sound like Taskmaster took Punisher’s spot? There are 18 other Marvel characters on the roster why attack him. In fact this goes to everyone who says ‘i rather have ________ instead of __________’ people why do you act like a certain character took another characters spot. Do you thinking " I don’t like this character so i will go to his/her thread and take my time to annoy everyone who’s trying to have a serious discussion on said character. This is so annoying to read and wish people like you would just keep your opinions to yourselves.

So could Deadpool, so could Taskmaster if they wanted.

I’m liking how Taskmaster looks and will definitely experiment with him come release. Which I find odd cause my only exposure to him was from Cable and Deadpool, in which Wade beats him up with 1 arm and both legs tied behind his back, weighted down and with every conceivable disadvantage Wade could think up applied to himself.

Although I did think Taskmaster had a cool ability when I learned about him.

anyone else have to deal with a friend on psn/xbox who thinks taskmaster looks really stupid and dumb?

it’s kinda hard to discuss how you might use taskmaster on your team in a discussion
when the majority of people probably see him as just some lame ass character that resemble skeletor…

I’m already going through that problem. My non-comic friends have no bloody idea who he is and claiming wasted character slot on that alone.

Yeah its really hard to explain the appeal of some characters to people who aren’t really into fighters/people who don’t keep up with comics.

yeah
i had one of my psn friends check out the akuma/taskmaster trailer and once it got to taskmaster

he was like “Who the hell is this…Taskmaster?” and during the video
over mic i heard him say “He Looks Really Dumb…I don’t like him”

I’ve found any discussion with a non-comic friend turns into a PAINFUL discussion.
“Who is this?”
“Oh, that’s [insert character who hasn’t been in a Marvel movie here.]”
“I’ve never heard of him, why didn’t they just add in [character from the X-men films/cartoon show.]”

And don’t even get me started while playing through MUA2…

I had no idea who taskmaster was before his trailer and I think he’s the best thing ever… same thing with most of the other obscure characters.

They could have given practically anyone an AHVB if they wanted to.

When i heard about Taskmaster being in this game my first reaction was defiantly “WHO?”. after watching the videos i definitely want this guy on my team lol.

I had someone do that to me…I showed em the “Village of Hitlers” and then they were on my side

i can just see the pro’s(Jwong Marn And So On)saying he’s a total waste of a character slot…

Why would they say that when they haven’t even had any time to play him?

@i can just see the pro’s(Jwong Marn And So On)saying he’s a total waste of a character slot…

based on what? he looks awesome and really versatile and all we’ve seen is “hype this character” official mvc videos.
