Not trying to turn it into a race thing. Just saying… I saw this on the news last night and they interviewed a white girl who was a friend of the chick that got punch. She said the cops had no problem with her walking, but with black chicks. Maybe she was just being bias for her friend, or maybe she actually has a point.
So how would you have liked to have seen it handled?

It almost never happens, I jaywalked all the time in Wash infront of Cops and never got anything for it.
Depends on where you are, I know in front of my high school all day until about 4 there was always an officer who was posted only at that stop light to watch for people jaywalking to the gas station across the street. Guess it depends on if it’s too many people that do it in the same spot or not.
The report says he stopped some dude first, and then he stopped 4 women and ordered them over to his cruiser, one em tried to blow him off and keep walking. My guess is the white chick was one of the 4, and she didn’t straight up try and walk away from a cop. He went after the one that wasn’t adhering to the orders.

y’all are only seeing part of it. i watched the youtube vid last night. it was much longer and the officer was fighting with the main girl for a while. he didn’t just snap like that. plus there were a dozen people watching and a bunch had shooting video of him. also, come on y’all… the girl was bigger than him 
all the dudes were trying to get the other girl off the cop. also when he punched her everybody went OHHHHH! none of the guys intervened they just said stuff like “awww that’s messed up.” and “really? seriously?”
they clearly stated the cop was a rookie. And yet again, you have two suspects, one is resisting arrest, the other is attacking you. Honestly, what kind of pussy fucking world did your mom shit u out into, where a simple STFU punch is so horribly bad?
You DO NOT touch the cops, let alone attack them. I would have to assess the situation if a regular guy had to deal with 2 crazy bitches, and hit one of them. But when they’re all over a COP, fuck right off.

You still haven’t answered the question though. What else is his alternative? They were getting rowdy and he needed a way to stop them and defend himself (regardless of sex). If he tasered them, would that be okay? What is considered “professional”?
What if she grabbed his gun and someone got shot? You would have heard outrage at the fact that the cop let that happen.
What if he did that to a 17 year old male? Would that make it okay?
She put her hands on him and immediately changed the situation. It wasn’t like she was randomly struck in the face.
