Cop punches woman in the face lol! Police brutality?

Seattle WE DA BEST.

No seriously though the only reason we the news lately is because of cops. I think the last 5 times we been on national news was because of cops.:looney:

Yes exactly.

Girl was trying to obstruct the law, maybe if he knocked her out cold it could be seen as excessive force but I don’t see how the cop is in error here. It’s close quaters no time to draw out a mace (do US cops carry mace??) or threaten to tazer her, she or anyone else could have easily hurt him.

Well said

Okay, your friend is getting a ticket for jaywalking. There were a few ways to handle the situation. 1. Just sit there, watch your friend get a ticket, and then talk mad shit about it later on in the comfort of your own home. 2. Scream, “This some bullshit!” at the cop, and then talk mad shit about it later on in the comfort of your own home. 3. Run up and shove the cop in a manner which physically expresses your feelings of bullshititude towards the situation, and then get punched in the face.

Did he absolutely have to punch the chick? Probably not. Could he have done something else to restrain her? Sure, but the response to the situation was way over the top by the chick’s friend. Option 2 would have worked out much better.

Just on lunch today the TV at Burger King had the news on and they were interviewing his boss (forgot what title he was) and he actually did call for back up as the first one, the one who didn’t get punched, started making a scene and cussing him out. Things got bad before anyone else could show up though.

This story almost makes me want to wear my old Stairs AV again.

man, you got a bitch going nuts in your face attacking you, you have no idea if she could potentially pull out a weapon. All he did was punch her in the face. If he did anything aside from that, I could understand people getting all pissy, but he didn’t. Next time, yell at a cop all you want, just don’t lay a fucking hand on em.

Bitch gets all up in my face like that in RL, I’d probably take her down a peg or two as well

Wow. I guess to some extent he kinda did the right thing? Maybe punching technically goes too far, but can we actually say that if he tased her in self-defense he was wrong too? Maybe tasing is harsher in this situation, but still there’s got to be some sort of repercussion for a woman jumping in to defend her friend by hitting an officer. That’s just not right. The guy couldn’t immediately get backup there to his defense so I guess punching in the face was technically right?

Idk how i feel about this…i mean its funny…but cmon. He had to jaw her?? That cop is weak as fuck.

I have a good friend was was a bouncer for many years and we have some stories about similar situations.

1 that I can recall has a 20 something chick screaming shit at the cops while her boyfriend is being put in the squad car for a disturbance at the bar. She decides, in her infinite drunk white bitch wisdom, that she should grab one of the cops and start hitting him while she tries to grab her boyfriend to stop him from getting arrested. I can vividly recall her getting kicked in the back and knocked to the ground by the other cop (a female) and then, while being stepped on, shackled up arms and legs and tossed in the back of the other cop’s car like a duffel bag.

Long story short, it could have been worse for the lady in the video.

If the cop called for backup and no one came in time, then it was justified.

That wasnt my point though. Im saying he coulda handled it without punching her in the face. Period. Shes a fucking teenage girl…

Im not saying she wasnt wrong.

I think it all comes back to the lesson we are taught when we are little that you shouldn’t hit girls. The problem is when they tell the girls this they don’t tell them bout the huge Asterisk and the fine print that’s included with that lesson.

If she was a man I doubt there would be any issues with it…bottomline is that she was out of line and got was was coming to her.

Kind of monday morning quarterbacking. Most situations with or without law enforcement that end in violence can be handled without violence.

I understand uneasiness about a teenage girl being hit by a grown man, but at the same time, its just a punch.

No one is debating there weren’t alternative solutions to the situation. What we are saying is he wasn’t in the wrong. In regards to age, she was 17. most 17 year old girls do a might fine job of appearing as someone > 18, so the fact she could be a minor prolly never entered his thought process due to the stress of the situation…

The punch doesn’t hit too hard it seems, as the female is able to actively trying to resist when the cop try to cuffs her.

Hell he could be “worst”, taser gun, baton, knee in stomach, pin on ground and handcuff(the ground could burn skins) etc.

Seriously? How else should he handle two people, women or not, who’re being hostile towards him, one’s resisting arrest and the other comes up and shoves him. People say “He should try and restrain them”. With what? Let’s brainstorm here. What are his options, on the fly, for restraining a hostile civilian who’s just physically involved herself in a situation involving an uncooperative suspect? You can’t say he’d could have handled it better without giving out any examples.

I also think he could have handled it better, he could have given her a warning not to put her hands on him, she was likely gonna do it again because she was already dumb enough to do it once. If she did it again, then what? Restrain her? He tried to, after hitting her, and then the original perp decided to put her hands on him. Needless to say, he was fighting them both off.

If it wasn’t a punch, it would have been some other kind of physical action that would’ve pissed everybody off.

Doesn’t seem like the cop was technically in the wrong, but shouldn’t he have better things to do than harass people for jaywalking?

I don’t like to get into these subjects more, because it mostly consists of people defending woman beating. I’ve dealt with aggression a lot of times. I shouldn’t have done anything most of the time, but after my enlightening, I see that I should next to never partake in violence. It will be shameful to do so with anyone, especially to those who are weaker. I have faced these obstacles again, but I managed to think smartly do not do wrong and walk away or handle it in another matter. I only hope others can do the same.

Jaywalking is usually one of those things they only give tickets out for if they either haven’t met their quota(don’t give me that shit that they don’t exist anymore, they do) or they need funding for random project.

lol the article says 17 year old woman. 17 = woman? Straight trolling right there.

Either way, the officer was still in the right. You don’t EVER lay your hands on a police officer. Especially not over a fucking jaywalking. Don’t people realize cops HATE doing minor shit like jaywalking patrol? They’re the most dangerous, on-edge motherfuckers. They already feel belittled doing an assignment like that, you don’t want to give them any excuse to do some gangsta cop shit.

Oh well, another person learns the hard way.
