no, you wouldn’t, because you know that’s excessive force. you can restrain and arrest these girls without cracking them in the face. she wasn’t threatening his life by shoving him, but he endangered her life when he hit her AS HARD AS HE FUCKING COULD, and yes, you can die (or suffer a concussion/brain damage) if you get punched in the head hard enough, or if you hit the ground hard enough on your way down.
the problem is that cops feel alienated from society and hanging out with other cops all day, feel like they can’t relate to civilians. people fear what they don’t understand, and hate what they fear. they might not be seething with visible hatred, but in the same way you might perceive a white person with no friends of other ethnicities as racist, the police have a subtle hatred of the civilian public that they themselves might not even be consciously aware of, and you can’t protect and serve people you hate.
also, if this were a white girl, i guarantee you she wouldn’t have gotten slugged in the face, and probably wouldn’t have been stopped for FUCKING JAYWALKING either. that POS officer was probably overjoyed when a black girl gave him “license” to hit her in the face with all the force an adult man can put into a punch. this cop deserves to be sent to jail on hate crime charges so he can get a taste of his own medicine.

The situation was FAR more dangerous than you are making it out to be. If you and I were pushed by some random girl in the street, it’s unlikely it would escalate into a life-or-death situation. In any situation involving a cop being assaulted, being outnumbered 2-to-1, and surrounded by an unfriendly mob, could EASILY escalate into a life-or-death situation because there is ALWAYS a lethal weapon on the scene–the officer’s weapon.
ANYBODY can take an officer’s weapon, especially in a 2-on-1 situation. Doesn’t matter if you’re fucking old or young, black or white, male or female. Anyone can grab a taser, baton, or gun and use it.
I’m actually curious to hear you explain exactly how you would handle the situation of trying to restrain two out-of-control crazy bitches, resisting, clawing, and screaming at you, when at all times you are carrying a taser, baton, and loaded gun on your person which can be ripped off and used against you.

This is insane and too intense, the girls assulted a officer of the law and didn’t care about the potential risk. Whenver someone of a weaker built or disadvantaged physical situation (man vs women,small guy vs big guy,child vs adult) intiates a physical confrontation with the physically superior party then they forfit the right to there own saftey and protection and should expect that some"retort"is in order.

the officer in the video didn’t really seem that worried about that prospect as he wrestled with the girl in the black shirt for 20+ seconds, where at many points, had she wanted to, she could’ve easily grabbed his gun. so much for that theory.
after the girl in the pink pushed me once, i would have let go of the girl in the black shirt, as the officer did, use this fancy technique i found on google images when i searched for “cop hold”
and put her (girl in the pink) in handcuffs, and immediately to the back of the squad car. then, assuming i had some CRAZY resources in my car at the moment, i would put the OTHER girl in handcuffs too! and then put her in the back of the squad car, and taken them both to the police station. i wouldn’t hit anyone because i don’t hate black people, i don’t hate civilians, and i don’t hate women.

police officers need better, deeper, and more frequent screenings, before and during their employment to determine if they have any sort of prejudice that might cause them to slug person A in the face while maybe yelling “HEY!” at person B. equal protection under the law and all that.

Obviously the only reason this cop punched the woman was to feel like a man. I bet he beats his wife too. And his kids. He probably sells crack and molests children too. I know a lot about him, as do you.
It’s totally easy for cops to handcuff people who are flailing and thrashing. Have you ever seen a single episode of “Cops”? They need like three fucking cops laying down on top of one person to get them to stay still enough to put handcuffs on when they’re struggling.
Because with 1 vs. 1 as he was currently engaged, if someone reached for his gun or anything else he could have immediately stopped wrestling with the first girl. When a second assailant entered the scene things got much more intense, because what’s to say a third or fourth assailant isn’t right behind her? Also, many police officers aren’t terribly concerned with a random bystander grabbing their gun because Average Joe and Jane would likely not know how to turn off the safety and fire it at him in the time where he could either disarm or taser them.
Because the first girl he was wrestling with, when let go of, would certainly just stand there and kindly wait for him to finish wrestling with and handcuffing the second girl. Yeah, sound theory there champ.

My father was a police officer for over twenty years, working street and desk, and in the latter part of his career as an undercover drug detective - busting cocaine and meth dealers in the inner city. He was and is a Christian, he is a very friendly man, and he has many friends still in this area and where he lives now (down south). He served in Vietnam fighting for this country. He is a good man.
The fact that you speak of cops in such broad terms is extremely insulting. There will always be special cases, but not all cops are racist lunatics. In fact, I’d say the vast majority of them are honest men and women who wish to protect and serve the people, keeping people safe and keeping the streets clean. They deal with life and death on a daily basis - why do you think you hear so many cops’ significant others fearing that their loved one won’t come home that day? I’m just as upset as the next person when I get a speeding ticket, but I am ashamed of the way you and most people view police officers.

If someone gets an attitude with a cop it generally puts said cop in a bad mood right off the bat. I’m willing to bet dollars to doughnuts (lol cop reference) that he said, “Stop.” and she said, “Fuck off!” and kept walking. If a police officer wants to talk to you, especially about a crime, you’d better not just walk away. You do have the right to remain silent but you don’t have the right to just leave if a citation is going to be written for you, just like you don’t have the right to simply drive away if a cop pulls you over for speeding. Common knowledge, people.
