I’ve seen the Cronus fuck up at tournaments. A Cronus and another stick plugged into the front of a 360 will cause dropped inputs for the non-Cronus player (and possibly the Cronus player too, unsure of this). The “solution” is to plug one of them into the back but IMO a piece of trash converter like that shouldn’t be used at all, just in case it is still causing problems even with a controller in the back. I’ve seen tournaments banning it and I think that’s a safe way to go.
If you only ever play people online though I guess it’ll work, I haven’t heard much about its actual performance.
I have a Pelican Real Arcade Universal Tournament Ready Stick, for those of you that don’t know it has connectors for the Playstation 2, original Xbox, and Gamecube. It’s been collecting dust for a long time. Recently I got Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition on my PC. I have a Xbox360 SF4 stick which works great with it on my PC (auto detected and properly configured), so I’d like to use this Pelican stick for a second player or by itself as I upgraded the parts in it so maybe it’ll be better than my other stick.
What’s the best way I can use that stick on my PC? Best meaning lagless and responsive, driver support, 2 player support with my other stick. I’m running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit, SSF4AE via Steam. From reading the first post in this thread, I have the following options:
I’m leaning towards #2 since it’s cheaper but am not sure how well it’ll work. Will it be plug and play or do I need to download some special drivers? Thanks for any tips.
I’ve been looking into gamecube to PC adapters for use with Dolphin and it seems I have options but I was wondering if there was a universally recommended one.
I’d personally get a Mayflash GameCube to USB converter, the new purple one with the two GameCube ports. I’ve used it before to play emulated Melee and it works great. If the reports are also correct, this is the only USB converter that correctly reads analog values for R and L.
No.
If you did any sort of searching here, you’d find out that there are NO reliable (or recommended) PS3-360 or 360-PS3 adapters.
Get your stick dual-modded instead.
I know it does support rumble. Whether the rumble is accurate or not, I can’t say; I don’t really pay much attention to it. But it’s there and it definitely works for all the things you’d expect to feel rumble for (getting hit at high percents, losing a stock, getting hit by rapidly hitting moves like Samus Up+B). You can see the full features of this thing at the official Mayflash site: http://mayflash.com/Products/NINTENDOWiiGC/PC051.html
That’s understandable. Looking on the net, I do see people saying that they’re not getting rumble going with the device. I wish I could say something concrete on my own, but I don’t actually own the converter myself. I just use it at a friend’s. However, it appears that the rumble does work via Dolphin. You just need to fiddle with some settings (source here). I definitely wouldn’t get any other adapter though. Even if it takes a little bit of work getting rumble working, having fully supported analog L/R triggers out of the box through Dolphin is a godsend and more than makes up for the hassle in my opinion.
#2 is your best option since the xbox controllers actually use USB as the controller signal. You’ll need a special driver but it’s not hard getting it installed. You shouldn’t have any lag or anything funny using this method.
Not sure if question goes here, but…
Does anyone know of any good Composite cables to HDMI converters?
Trying to hook up my PS2/Dreamcast/old consoles into my LCD monitor.
