Converter Compatibility Thread

Hi guys,

i am also looking for an adaptater to use a PS3 pad on my Xbox360, at first I found the XCM cross fire:
http://www.xcm.cc/xcm_cross_fire_converter.htm
But some of you said it was laggy.

So the best adaptater would be the Universal controller Adapter Converter Mayflash?

It sounds too good to really be the truth, because this one is supposed to be laggless and working for both Xbox360 and PS3, and working with ps3 and ps2 pad on Xbox…
And this, for only 15 dollars???

I can’t believe the Mayflash does better than the XCM being sold at 70 dollars!!!

Can you tell me accurately if the Mayflash has absolutely no lag at all? even slightly?

Thx

All feedback on the Mayflash converter has been positive. Many people in our scene have now purchased one and many people have gotten to try it out at locals and casuals–again, all positive feedback.

The XCM adapter isn’t expensive because it’s good, it’s expensive because it’s overpriced. The thing probably costs $5 tops to manufacture.

OK thanks Mit, but does positives feedback mean it is completely laggless? not even slightly?
I would like it to be asbolutely clear without a doubt, with more details.

If i Buy it from this seller on ebay:

Any risk to get a forged product (imitation), since it comes from China?
I alwready got false official PS3 pad from Hong Kong that really looked like true official ones, so I’m a litle supicious.

Thx

There’s no such thing as a completely legless converter never will be the better question to ask is are there issues with dropped inputs or multiple simultaneous input (multiple buttons pressed at once) those are bigger issues of course you want it to be virtually lagless

I never thought of that, it seems more important indeed, and I hope this converter does not have such bad issues…

In general Mayflash is usually offers decant quality products their Ps2 to GC/Wii and wii to PC/PS3 are highly recommended. My recollection there have never been any issues with any of their controller adapters

What are my options if I want to use a USB keyboard for a PS3? Apparently, the XCM XFPS is really shitty but I haven’t heard much else in terms of converters. How is the Eagle Eye or the Max Shooter Pro from Mayflash?

The very best option you can do is mod a cherry switch keyboard with a ps3 controller no converter would be needed but it would be spendy though but by far the best option.

You may have issues finding answers to questions like that here since most play with stick or pad I recommend checking out a FPS website there should be loads of info on such items there and though there game play is totally diffrent they still want common core things= limited lag and no dropped inputs.

I’ve never looked at this it at that perspective. I’ll try it. Thanks.

Edit: Well they seem to be more concerned about mouse issues than button press latency and what not. Before I weigh my options, does modding a cherry switch keyboard involve soldering?
Edit2: Also, you mean to say people who use converters for Xbox to PS3 and etc. also have latency issues? Because I mentioned the Max Shooter Pro which apparently allows for cross platform controllers too.

I looked through the thread but I didn’t see anyone answer the question I’m about to ask…

I see that people got that Mayflash universal adapter, but I never saw if anyone confirmed whether or not PS3 arcade sticks work with 360 using the adapter. In particular, I am interested to know if the Hori PS3 sticks work with this. Also, if they do work, what is it like? Laggy or not? and all that good stuff.

Thanks!

anyone know will my wired gamestop brand xbox 360 controller will work with mayflash when trying to use a ps2 controller on 360?

i’m happy to report that the tototek playstation>pc engine and playstation>sega genesis converter both work fine with an mc cthulhu using an RJ45 playstation cable. since pc engine is supported by the mc cthulhu it doesn’t really matter but it’s nice to know I can use my stick with sega genesis games.

Any updates on this or anyone that has tried it on one of the mainstream brand sticks? (MC, Hori, etc.)

This thing sounds pretty interesting. As far as the price thing goes sure, it’s possible to dual mod a fight stick for cheaper but if you don’t know how to do any of that yourself then this appeals greatly. Also, opening up and fiddling with your sticks insides ends your warranty, another thing the average person sometimes doesn’t want to do. Plus, the Madcatz and Hori sticks are licensed for a reason, so that when Microsoft or Sony gets a bug up their but and decides to stop letting unlicensed controllers work, you are safe, lol. This would fix that worry because it can be updated.

I’m an average modder who knows how to install new parts to a stick (button and sticks etc.) But when I saw this adapter I also wanted it for the convenience of a ‘clean’ dual mod.

But like others I’m skeptical. For now I’m considering both options, this or a local dual mod.

Hopefully someone with a strong technical ‘know-how’ takes one for the team and fill us in.

So far however, from the Facebook page from a fellow customer who recently purchased it, claims that the adapter does not work with the hori edge 360 to be played on ps3.

Hi,

I finally received my Universal controller Adapter Converter Mayflash,
but i can’t get it to work at all on my Xbox360.
I have got a wired Xbox pad, and a PS3 Dual Shock 3, i also have the Xbox360 slim (black version)
The Xbox pad is also the black model.

Does this adapter work on slim Xbox 360?

I of course want to play with my PS3 pad on Xbox360, but the mayflash adapter does not even lighten up, and there are no intrsuctions at all within the package.
What should I do? Is there something I am doing wrong?

I just tried the adapter on my PS3 with a Xbox360 pad, and it worked really well.
But I can’t still make it work on Xbox…
Maybe my Wired Xbox pad is too recent? It is the black version, and I might need an old white version?

I really hope the mayflash adapter also work on the Xhox360 slim model (in black), otherwise I would have bought it for nothing…

Ok I figured it out thanks to this video.

The way this adapter works is really weird, because:

  • To use a PS3 pad on Xbox360: first plug in your adaptater, then connect your wireless Xbox pad on the pluged adapter! The mayflash will only lighten up after doing so. After that, you have to disconnect you Xbox pad to the Mayflash adapter to replace it with the PS3 controller thanks to the USB charge cable, and it works.

  • To use XBOX pad on PS3: you only need to connect your wired PS3 pad directly to the PS3, you don’t even need to connect it with the USB cable.
Then connect your Mayflash adapter with the Xbox wireless pad on it, and it directly works.

So the mayflash does not work the same on both consoles, you have to connect it in different ways.

Hi. Did anyone buy this item from this seller: http://www.ebay.com/itm/261005601235 ? It looks like the Blazepro PS2 to 360 converter, but seller says it’s not the original Blazepro. I would like to know how much it’s reliable and lagless.

hi everyone, can someone please help me with this, I’m sorry if its has been answered before as I don’t have time to read everything. I’m looking for a converter that can converter my PS3 stick so I can use it on xbox360. I know there’s something called “controller converter pro” from Blaze but I can’t find it anywhere!

You should probably read the last few pages of this thread and then ask again.
