I want to know if anyone has put time and effort on this device. I want to know if there’s any lag input before investing $70 into it. I use a X360 controller and most of the tournaments I go use PS3, I would really like to know how good this Cronus Device is.
Bump for merge.
Update on the Mayflash Universal Adapter…have been using this adapter for about 3 weeks now and I’m starting to have some big problems. When I use a 360 controller on ps3, my ps3 shuts off after about 10 minutes of play. I think it may have to do with a voltage problem with using a 360 controller on ps3. I’m using the original 60gb ps3 btw. Yesterday and today I’ve been playing mortal kombat collection on my 360 with a ps3 controller and have been getting dropped inputs a a little lag. My character also blocks when I’m not even pressing the R2 button on the controller. Pretty disappointed with the problems, especially not being able to use the 360 controller on my ps3, But then again the adapter only costs me $15.90 which is good.
PS…sorry for the late reply. Some mod banned me for no reason for 1 month. Don’t know how mods can do that but whatever…
dont knw if this is ok but I have a dream connection adapter by innovations for sale. It allows to use the ps2 controller on a dreamcast. very hard to come by
its in the trading forums
Here’s a question: any idea what could cause a converter to suddenly stop working? I’ve got a Pelican PS2 to PS3 converter that no longer converts anything. The lights will come on some times and it will occasionally get power to the controller (Dualshock 2 Analog light comes on) but beyond that nothing. I’d kind of like to fix it if that’s possible or failing that at least know how it borked.
Another feedback on **Mayflash Universal Converter , **I’ve done extensive testing on a PS3 slim console using xbox 360 gamepad . Played 100 SSF4 AE matches or so with my friend . I don’t usually play on PS3 , but I was able to do the usual links and combos just fine , as an Akuma player , ie:BNB , tatsu > sweep , basic OS , so I’m pretty sure the input lag is minimal to none existent .
I got the CronusX converter for review. Should be similar to the regular Cronus unit but without an update firmware as of yet. For sure so far doesn’t work on old style Hori PS3 stick pcb and the Qanba Q2 Standard PS3 stick, the PS2 pad works as well with help of the inPin on a 360. I was able to pull off my Tag 2 combos just fine if I was using stick. Electrics were not much of a problem either if you excuse human error.
I will be testing more sticks such as newtype Hori PS3 boards to 360 and 360 sticks on PS3.
Can you make a ps3 controller work on pc with the cronus converter?
I don’t have a PS3 pad at the moment but I will do so as I am evaluating it. I feel like a DualShock 3 will work fine with either using Xbox 360 authentication mode or just plug-and-play.
You need drivers/software for the PS3 pads on pc. Just look it up.
I’m aware of mottionnjoy and other drivers. I was just hoping for a plug n play solution for my anal brother’s anti cord family room setup.
Yeah. In those situations I just use a ps2 controller with an adapter. Best of luck!
I just tried out a Hori Fighting Edge on 360 and seems to work fine on a PS3 with the Cronus device. I didn’t feel any apparent lag nor dropped inputs. Was able to do some of the advanced parrying trials and decent combos on 3SOE just fine, combos in Tekken were working well. Also, the LED lights were working just fine and had the color flashes when hit and the touch panel was working as intended.
Set up a proper lag test like people such as Toodles have done in the past. You cannot rely on your eyes alone when testing such a thing.
I already planned to do that since I got it. I am just starting with a feel test then go technical in the coming days.
Does anyone know the compatibility of the Playtech PS2/PC sticks with the Dreamcast Total Controls?
Cronus 360 to PS3 Toodles test with 360 SE stick fierce button chained to ChImpSMD.
Test 1: 25 trades, 22 counter-hits from ChImp, 3 counter-hits from Cronus.
Test 2: 25 trades, 23 counter-hits from ChImp, 2 counter-hits from Cronus.
Hey guys I bought the Mayflash Universal adapter. So far in my scene people that have had a chance to use it have said they have enjoyed using it and that they don’t really feel any lag. This was also at a local San Diego Marvel Tourney called Salt Mines. I cant really give you a lag test but just from experience and word of mouth from a few others, I can say that it works and it’s an incredible product for the money spent on it. Satoshimatrix has a vid on the adapter, Near the end talking about 3rd party controllers working and what not.
Satoshimatrix: As I’ve continuously said, third party 360 wired controllers WILL work on the PS3 with this adapter, but the vast majority of third party wired PS3 controllers will NOT work on the 360.
After he said that I really wanted to get a Hori Fighting Edge stick but didnt want to spend 400 bucks on both models I was also worried about it not working at all on any version because of the NEW PCB it had. I bought the adapter to test it out. it was cheap so why not? I kept seeing the question: Does this work on the fighting edge? Well my friend had a PS3 version fighting edge and just like the guy who tried it a few pages back, It was a disappointing fail after trying it. But since I ran mostly XBOX on my setup I bought myself the XBOX version of the Fighting Edge. Well I took another chance to see if it’ll run the XBOX version…IT FUCKING WORKED… Now I wont have to worry about PS3 tournies at all. I can have my fighting edge for XBOX and play on PS3. Thing that sucks though Ill have to deal with color scheme of Microsoft. But I still have a fighting edge to use and thats all that matters to me. This adapter seems to favor XBOX just saying. Im glad I dont have to spend 80 bucks or more on a Adapter. Anyway. Point is if you want to have a single Fighting Edge for both consoles(besides Dual modding of course) just get yourself this adapter and the xbox version of the stick. I’ll make a video later today to show you guys and post it on here.
You could put your Hori button switches in some Sanwa buttons.
Anyone tried a Sega Saturn to TG-16/Duo Adapter for Street Fighter 2 CE??
