Converter Compatibility Thread

Toodles may be your best on this. He makes a small PCB that will need to be assembled and soldered.

Yo! I skimmed the first and last few pages of this thread in hopes of learning which adapter, if any, would allow me to play on a PS3 using my EX pro Hori stick (360) with negligible loss of funcionality. The technical jargon and abundance of information proved too daunting to examine at this late hour. So forgive me for asking, cuz I did make an effort (minimal),

Is there an adapter available that will allow me to play fighters on PS3 using my beloved Hori EX pro arcade stick? It’s for casual gaming in general, so I would consider an adapter that suffers infrequent input drops or other anomalous behavior.

Oh, and I just ordered the HEI converter on the reccomendation of the Ewok. Though not the declaration of confidence I was hoping for, I like Ewoks, and skeleton face was open minded towards it, and he’s all over this thread. Anyway it was cheap as balls, so at least I have something happening while I research my options.

your better off dual modding it

I lol’d hard at skeleton face considering my handle is my first name. Please post back once you receive it. We don’t have much info on this converter yet.

I found that tapping Dpad Up+Select also brings up the xmb and holding dpad Up+Select brings up the Controller Settings menu

Really now? Excellent. That’ll help a lot with dealing with these PS3 tournaments I attend.
Thanks for the tip.

As someone who has taken to using keyboard more often than I use stick, what are my options for converting a USB or PS/2 keyboard to use on the 360?

According to this thread, or at least the first page, the XFPS sucks and the only other I know about is the XIM3, which is crazy expensive for a whole bunch of features catered around the mouse, which I will never use.

Honestly, XIM3 is your best bet. If you happen to play any FPS, then you can kind of justify the purchase. Otherwise. it is incredibly bloated for someone who merely wishes to use it for fighting games.
I wonder if anyone has tried something like wiring a fightpad pcb to a keyboard. Of course there would be little space to work with, but depending on your keyboard, you should be able to find a modder who can easily do that (subliminal shoutout to gummowned).

I’m too much of a purist to play FPS on anything but a PC :frowning:

Thanks for the suggestions though. Looks like my options right now are just to either get the XFPS and put up with the bullshit, or keep playing on my Stickless-Modded TE until I get far enough along in my EE education that I can be like Toodles and make my own converter PCB/kit. (I think I’ll call it…the “Keychain”)

I have this adapter, I know it has been asked if the Hori commander 3 will work with ps2/ps3 -> 360 adapter is that this adapter and what about the new hori commander 3 PRO with the rotating dpad and longer left hand “handle”?

any chance you can post a picture of the box that came in if you still have it? and one other question, do you need a wired xbox 360 pad for that converter to work for ps2/ps3 -> xbox 360.

here’s the reason i’m asking, and thanks.

This comes in the box pictured in that thread and does need a wired 360 pad.

thank you sir, that’s all i needed to know.

hi guys, I’ve read the op and about 20 pages into the thread but I can’t find what I’m looking for, so I’m sorry if this has already been asked before.

recently I’ve been lucky to get a used hori command stick

the programmable function works perfectly in my ps2 when I tested it on tekken 5

then I got this converter

it’s not listed in the main faq, but I’ve read some post in the early pages about a model 538 converter. been wondering if this is the one you guys are talking about.

nevertheless, when I use the converter + command stick to play tekken 6
I can execute ewgf, otgf, jfsr and some other strict timing move using the stick just like I usually do with my HRAP3

the problems comes when I use the programmable function.

all of my programming seem to be skipping a frame or two

such as when I program for bryan jet upper, i would program

forward 1 frame, neutral 1 frame, back + right punch 1 frame

when I turn on the command history in tekken 6 practice mode, I notice the neutral is skipped
or sometimes the back + right punch is skipped

so I kinda suspect my converter lagged probably just a little bit of frame

I’ve tried the lag tester with xpadder tutorial
by mapping the same button with the stick

but the delay is similar in both test with keyboard and stick
both resulted around 0,8 ms results

so when I substract the stick and keyboard lag
it’s less than 2 ms which should be lagless according to op

but then I am having this problem in the programmable function

I am interested in inpin as everyone claims it is lagless

my question is have anyone tried using inpin with a programmable stick?
and by claiming inpin lagless, does it also shows similar results like my model 538 converter
when inpin is tested using xpadder and lag tester?

IIRC, Maj uses Inpins with the Programable Ascii pads as those are the only ones that wouldn’t lag. Personally I had some problems using my PPAD on PS3, I programmed some marvel 3 combos on 360, then plugged the pad using a Dragonplus PS/2 to PS3 converter, and I noticed the combo didn’t work. I assume it lags as every input is sent to the console, which is extreme bullshit imo. Funny thing is, when i use it normally, it doesn’t lag at all.

I already ordered an Inpin to see if it’s the adapters fault, or maybe it’s just the PS3 (which is ass, btw) I’ll have to do more testing once I get it.

I would blame the converter (though I don’t have a PS3). I used to own that stick. It worked fine on the 360 including the replay using an XConverter 360. I’d see about getting an Inpin.

The input lag testor linkis not working anymore, anyone have the program so i can check my converters? thank you!

I’m interested in this converter

because I have both a PS2 and 360 stick I’d like to convert to PS3. It seems to be the most promising of the bunch for doing both PS2 and 360 to PS3 but has anyone done any in depth testing with it? I believe it’s the same one ashstampede has pictured.

What if I use an xtokki with a ps1 pad without an analog button? How can I bring up the guide? I want to put the ps1 pad+etokki adapter INSIDE my stick and just run the cable outward.

There’s a guide button on the converter itself.
