Converter Compatibility Thread

I use something that I believe is called PC Joybox 3-in-1, which has ports for Saturn, PSX, and DC controllers. Works on either PC or PS3. Tested it for lag with the instructions in the OP and it doesn’t have any.

does any one have the game elements ps2 to xbox converter that actually works well on xbox ?

I use one of these on a daily basis. It’s legit. The only issue I am aware of is that it trips out with the retail version of 3rd Strike. The emulated version is fine. I have two more of these on the way right now after giving them to my buddy who wanted an Xbox.

hum i believe i tried both games on the aniversary games and it lagged hard with a ps1 ds pcb i will try on another emulator i tought i did and it lagged as well ill try again

Hey there, I have a couple of questions about converters.

The arcade sticks I have are modded Mayflash Arcade Sticks. Will the Xtokki 360 converter will work with them?

The box says to use a Mayflash Max Shooter (http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-eq-49-en-70-3t80-40-1.html) but, it sounds like I’d have to have a wired 360 controller to make that work and I’ve heard it has issues. So I was if the Max Shooter Pro is any better and if it would work.

if someone can help me on what type of blaze converter i should buy because i want to use my ps2 pad
on my 360 put i am a little confuse on which converter to buy because i found two blaze converters
one only has ps3 and 360 written on it an the other one has a green hexagon on it and i want to know if they have
any differences. I have read that it does not need a xbox360 wired controller to bypass the xbox but i want to know if both
of the converters can do that or which converter can

That’s awesome! Now excuse me while I go purchase one! heh.

has anyone tested if the InPin works with SFAC 7.5v?

The Tinybee/Xtokki360/Focalprice converter has been added to the OP. Please help me out with some compatibility reports. I’m especially curious if the PS2 Saturn pad works with it. I need to just pick one up.

PS2 Saturn works with the Joytron XConverter. I’ve actually got an eTokki converter coming in the mail soon so I can test that out as well.

Thanks! Keep me posted.

Does anyone here know anything about this? I wanted to be able to use it for the super famicom classic controller thing I will be building. If it is junk I don’t want it(I’ll work on assembling my own then) but I figured it would be beneficial for the GameBoy player. Mainly because I don’t feel like spending $80 on the Hori Gamecube pad.

Quick thoughts on this particular converter:

I have used it for about a month now, in a few different applications.
Essentially, it converts PS1/2 controllers to 360 (w/ wired controller) and PS3, in one converter. It can also convert 360 to PS3.
On 360 to PS3 conversion, I have tried: Microsoft Wired 360 controller, Madcatz Fightpad, PDP Versus Pad, Hori VLX, Madcatz SE/TE. All of which worked completely on the PS3. Now, I am not recommended this thing yet because I have not performed any depth-full or highly-analytical tests.

One issue I cannot seem to duplicate (as I do not possess a PS3), is an occasion where I was using a 360 Madcatz SE on PS3 via the converter, and the game (Marvel vs Capcom 2) was reading the Left Direction of the dpad being held while the stick was in neutral position. The only fix found was to merely unplug the converter, then plug it in again. Only had the issue once, never happened again oddly.

Another issue is that while converter a PSone controller to PS3, the analog button will function as the Home button, however the analog button cannot be held to replicate the Home button being held. Therefore, you cannot use the controller to reassign its controller # on a PS3. Seeing as there is no button on the converter either, this may create some complications. None for me particularly. This function is still intact when converting 360 to PS3.

Honestly, it is an excellent converter for such low pricing of $13 shipped US.
Just my .02 cents.

This sounds promising. It’s the first one I’ve heard of that supports the TE/SE. I wouldn’t worry about testing. We’d be better off getting one into the hands of MarkMan or another high level player for a review.

Thanks, I’ll look into that.

I’m still on the hunt for Saturn->PS1/2 converters though, as I’d probably want to use the Saturn pad on PS2 just as much as PC/PS3. Maybe I should look into padhacking as I also have access to some PS1 controller PCB’s.

I don’t know if this is the right area to be asking but, is there anyway to tell if my buttons are shorting out? I just recently started playing on a PS3 using this converter: http://www.mayflash.com/pc/pc013/pc013-1.htm and I noticed a lot of my inputs are dropping. I can’t tell yet if it’s the converter or if it’s the buttons shorting out.

My stick is dual modded with a xbox live 360 madcatz real arcade pcb and the pcb from the tekken 5 ps2 hori stick. When I play on the 360 everything seems fine. When I play on the PS2, everything seems fine. When I play on the PS3, it feels like things are dropping. Should I try another converter?

I’m looking for something like this as well. I do have an official PS2 Saturn controller, but those things are expensive as hell to replace these days. The last 3 or so I’ve seen in the wild have sold for $150-$200 apiece.

Keio is the place to get these. They are pricey and from what I understand it’s been a while since he’s made them. I was also told his arthritis is the reason production has slowed down. I have a few and they’re awesome.

Yeah he is not gonna be making anymore it seems due to the condition. if some modder with time on their hands they might wanna hit him up and see about picking up the slack and producing these. last i talked to him he was open to the idea of having others set up shop with his product.

Yeah it says out of stock on both the converter and the DIY kit. I found a U.S. webstore that also once stocked them but they seem to be gone from there too.

If anyone here has the know-how to do a Saturn->PS1/2 conversion I might be willing to pay you to do it for me, and I’m sure there are other people here who would be interested in owning a PS2 Saturn pad without dropping $100+ as well. I might even be able to ship you the materials. Just a thought.

My limited experience with controller modding leads me to believe it’ll be much more of a pain in the ass than stick modding so I’d really rather have someone else do it. Or better yet find me a converter so I can still use the controller on my friend’s Saturn!
