Converter Compatibility Thread

Also which Ps1/PS2 to Ps3 converters have the home function?

I know Dragon Plus & Pelican. Which other ones have them?

InPin also has a home button on it.

Was wondering if http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-6m-49-en-70-3nu3.html could be used on PS3/Xbox360

I believe this is the right thread to ask.

just picked up one of these at my local trade center for kicks and giggles. Are there any converters for this type of thing? Would love to try it out in a tourney match for fun/casual play. :smiley:

And does anybody know what kind of joystick this uses? I don’t hear any “clicks” like in sanwa/seimitsu sticks when I move it…

For the XConverter 360, does anybody know if you have to use an original wired Xbox 360 controller? I have a cheap controller sitting around, so that would be nice to take apart and put it in a containing box so there aren’t so many cords around.

Does anyone know where I can get a cheap PS2 to PS3 adaptor that’s reliable/lagless and doesn’t break after 2 seconds???

I’m not crazy about the DragonPlus (reliability issues it seems from reports) and the brand I bought over a year ago is no longer manufactured (cables4pc).

The Sumoto seems to be MIA, too, at the import shops I’m familiar with…
(EDIT: Forget that… Found it on Amazon. Doesn’t seem to be plentiful but might get one.)

Does anyone know how good these adaptors are???

Two-port adaptors seem to be popping up quite a bit more…

My cables4pc adaptor is also a two-port adaptor.

i’m pretty sure any wired 360 controller will work, as all the converter uses it for is to by-pass whatever security is on the 360 that doesnt allow products not approved my microsoft to work. so if it works with the 360, you should be able to use it. the only exception i’ve found to this is the Rock Band/Guitar Hero microphone. All other controllers, should work.

correct. i’ve even used my joytron paewang on the xconverter 360.

So I just got a Dreamcast and now i can enjoy fighters i missed out on and shmups. I have xbox360 madcatz t.e. stick modded with a Multi-console Cthulhu board that works flawlessly on PS3 and Gamecube/Wii.

I want to know which converter will allow me to use the psx support of my McCthulhu and work on the Dreamcast. Would love to know if anyone is currently doing this and if your how great does your converter do it? This will help me out alot in which converter I would buy.

These were the ones i saw on toodles thread that said were teasted and i supposed worked. Just need more reassurance.
Innovation [PSX->DC] (Mixah, Toodles)
Total Control 2 [PSX->DC] (Mixah)
Total Control Plus [PSX->DC] (Truckasaurus)

Updated: Actually now there is Saturn support on the McCthulhu
So anyone use:
Total Control 3 [Saturn->DC (also has VMU slot)]
More interested in the Total control 3 now!
Anyone so ready to get one but would love to know if it works goods? And if the VMU saving and what not works well as well.

The one in the third link sucks.

I used the Joybox Pro w/ an HRAP2SA.

Played RE1 remake on the GC for every bit of two minutes with no problems (other than the obvious “can’t deal with this shit on stick”).

Not sure what the deal is w/ your stick/converter.

So does the wireless 360 mic work with the 360 convertor? I tried plugging a wired mic into the controller and that didn’t work. I have heard the wireless one plugs directly into the 360 though.

Yeah, the wireless mic works while using the xconverter. That’s my setup that I use to play online with tekken 6.

Hey all,

I recently purchased and received 2 Total Control Plus (PSX to DC) converters and well I cant seem to get them to work with my official PS2 Dualshock and my HRAP2SA stick.
They work with my PSONE controller and HRAP: Amazon Orange stick though.

Is this a problem with the 9v power requirement thing (which my converters have no power input) or are they defective?

So they both worked on your ps1 pad & not on your ps2 pad. Hmm Did you try flipping the switches on the sides? Also do both converters have the red light?

Thanks for the quick reply, yes the red light goes on for both, and I have tried all possible combinations of flicking the switch but it just wont work at all

Well I suggest to get a refund. I don’t understand why it wouldn’t work for your ps2 pad because with mine it works just fine. It doesn’t sound like it could be the converter problem but, maybe a controller problem? Can any of your friends who has a ps2 pad loan you one to see if it’s the problem with the controller? Also for your HRAP2SA stick I heard some sticks won’t work on it more famously the recent MAS sticks so I can’t help you much there sorry.

looking for a good converter for my ps3 TE stick to work on a 360 console. Since tourney’s in the uk use 360’s and not ps3’s unlike in america… I need to get one for when I do go to one. I looked at XCM converter but i’m not sure how good the input is and i tried looking for a review on this site but no avail. Can anyone tell me how good it is at all? If not are there any better ones available?

Sorry CHomes, but there is absolutely no (good) converter that goes from PlayStation 3 to Xbox 360 or the other way around. All of the converters that exist that do that either have HUGE input lag or have some really stupid gimmick with the inputs that make it worthless. Your best option is to get someone to mod your stick for you such that you can use it on the PS3 and X360 (or do it yourself).

whats the best converter to get to play on dreamcast? McCthulhu to dreamcast

I’ll have to find a store online that will do that cause I see that opening up shit with wedling and I get scared hahaha. Oh well, thanks for the help man.
