Converter Compatibility Thread

Glad I could help! By the way, if you haven’t already, bear in mind for the Xconverter 360 Plus, you’ll need an Xbox 360 wired controller to get it working. Read my post for more details here:

Regarding your question about the Paewang Revolution PCB, that’s a definite yes to your question. Just gut out your MAS Systems stick, solder up to the Paewang Revolution PCB, then you’re good to go for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 gaming. Just be warned that you’ll need to dedicate some button on that MAS stick for a Turbo button on the Paewang Revolution since otherwise you can’t switch between the consoles.

Looking for a converter that will go from my MC cthulu (it has the rj45 mod and I’ve got just about every cable) to DC.

You have a few up there but you don’t have the one toodles has in his thread and I don’t know what will and will not work.

Currently, it’s seriously up in the air as to what converters the PlayStation 2 portion of the Multi-Console Cthulu board can support. The best way to go about doing it is to ask Toodles since he’s done some testing with PS2 to Dreamcast converters. If any converters work, I’d be willing to bet that it would either be an Innovation converter or a Total Control Plus. Again, best way to go about finding out is to post in the Cthulu board thread and ask Toodles. Just throwing it out there as well that the MC Cthulu was never advertised to be used with converters, so who knows, it might end up nothing works?

Ikagi Chan the man! I can confirm the “Total Control Plus” converter works with the PSX of the MC Cthulhu. I believe the MC Cthulhu thread has the innovation converter as the compatible one, but there are more than 2 iterations of the innovation converter, and the one I have used (the newer one?) is incompatible with the MC Cthulhu PSX, but if you can get your hands on an older model Innovation PSX->DC converter, that would probably work, but I don’t even know the difference.

Long story short, Total Control Plus PSX->DC will work for you, and if it doesn’t I’ll buy it off you.

Truckasaurus, that’s some great info right there! Lemme ask though since I’m really curious, have you tried the Innovation converter again after you updated your MC Cthulu firmware to the latest 1.5? Toodles recently made some changes to the PlayStation code which fixed some compatibility issues with certain games. Perhaps it might’ve affected converter performance to boot? If you could get back to us on this, it’d be freaking sweet! I’d test myself, but I don’t own a Dreamcast! :wasted:

Man, 1.5! :woot: that’s that new firmware with the NES+SNES support. I’ll try to to update my chip and fire it up tonight, I didn’t think there would be a difference in the PSX functionality but now you’ve sparked my curiosity, I’ll give it a shot tonight.

Good stuff Truckasaurus! I hope the results turn out to be awesome. :bgrin:

And these are flawless?

And what are flawless? If you mean the Innovation and Total Control Plus converters, they’re as lagless as they come for PlayStation 1 or 2 to Dreamcast.

sweet thanks man!! i might be getting a stick with a ps1DS pcb. that should also work with that right?? also, thanks for the help as usual IKAGI!!

Anyone know?

Are there any converters that allow you to use PS or anything really on a 3DO? 6 button 3DO pads are n ot the easiest to come across and even the best of them are not the best pads and I’d like to be able to use some other controller on the system.

This thread claims there was a SNES to 3DO converter. I don’t have any info on it though.

They also recommend using the Capcom Soldier Pad. I have one for the SNES and like it. It should be a decent alternate to the official 3DO pad.

Yes, yes it does. Someone did say that the L and the R doesn’t work so I’d look into it.

So, I picked up one of these to use my Madcatz Wii stick with my GC version of CvS2.

Long story short, it didn’t work with that stick at all, despite specifically stating it works with Wii sticks on the back of the box. Also, using the PS2 adapter I got horrible sticking issues with the analog sticks. The stick would get stuck in either forward or crouch, making it virtually impossible to play. I don’t own a classic controller to test it on ironically.

So yeah, long story short. Don’t buy this.

I’m trying to find some information about the SFAC pad and the InPin together but I’m running into dead ends. Does anyone know for a fact if the SFAC pad is 100% compatible with the InPin or not?

First you have to check what voltage your SFAC PCB is. And then, I believe the 8v is incompatible and the 3.5v or the 7.5v might have a chance. I remember using the inpin with my stock SFAC joystick and its PCB, I’m sure it wasn’t an 8v, either a 3.5v or a 7.5v should work but I’m not 100% sure.

Truckasaurus, I think Winchester’s referring to the pads, not the Street Fighter 15th Anniversary stick.

They do work with the inPin. I’ve used one on an inPin for quite some time and it hasn’t given me a hitch.

Thank you very much, this is letting me head closer to an all white Namco stick mod.

Oh shit, I should learn how to read. I guess watching The Electric Company on PBS isn’t helping afterall
