Anyone know if this converter works well?

now if we could just get an inverted version of that… for 360 (SNES controller on 360 for those who didnt get what i was saying)
I’m looking for a way to use my MC Cthulu’d stick on a DC (I have GCN Xbox PS2 and USB rj45 cables) and the cheapest possible way to use either a PS2 controller or a Classic Controller on a PC(granted it has no huge problems).
in the faq a ps2 to dc converter works fine
does anybody know if the pelican works with mas sticks?
Was this problem ever solved? I’m having the same issue with two Hais converters, trying to use two PS1 digital pads.
Worked with fat PS3, but doesn’t work with PS3 slim.
Sorry, i’m not sure what that means. Can i get one and plug both converters into it? Or should i get two so i can plug them into each of the PS3’s USB ports? Or plug one converter directly into the PS3 and one into the hub?
Also does it matter what kind i get? This is kind of urgent so it’d be nice if i could solve this tomorrow by picking up whatever i need from a local store.
ive read thru this whole thing and this hasnt been answered. you will have to experiment and tell us the exact combination
Dreamcast Mayflash
Hey. I’ve searched around for a bit, but can’t seem to find an answer. Does the Dreamcast Total Control Plus (PS2 to Dreamcast) work for the Mayflash sticks? I’m looking for a new stick, and want one that I can use on all my consoles. Obviously, the Mayflash works on the PS3, but my concern is the Dreamcast.
yeap, i tried
so anyone know if that radioshack ps2 to pc controller work for the ps3??
I’m pretty sure they still do. The RadioShack converter is HID compliant, so I can’t see any reason why the PlayStation 3 wouldn’t accept it.
sorry, need clarification…
I’ve read carefully and ultimately now I NEED an American layout (6 buttons only, 3 straight top, 3 straight bottom, baseball bat stick joystick) for compatability for PS3 and 360.
Problem: I have a custom MAS for 360, but as I read…thats a NO GO for PS3 as only adapter is XCM which lags
Solution I read: buy ps2 hrap, adapter for ps3, adapter for 360
i dont wanna buy another stick…and theres no way my custom 360 MAS will work on PS3, but I do have a Dreamcast/PS2 Mas laying around. Does that constitute as a PS2 stick???( I dont know what HRAP is)
My Question: Can I use that PS2/Dreamcast MAS and buy adapter for 360 and an adapter for PS3??? Sorry if I sound ignorant, but I dont know if the makeshift PS2/Dreamcast MAS stick is equivalent to a PS2 HRAP…
Please help as I need to obtain a stick for PS3, since evo2k10’s platform is on PS3
HRAP is a Hori Real Arcade Pro, but any PS2 stick should work. Your cheapest option would be to use your PS2 MAS and get PS3 and 360 converters. You might want to check around to see if anyone has posted success with a PS2-compatible MAS and the converter that you choose.
If you’re handy with a soldering iron you could add a Cthulhu board to the 360 MAS for dual system support, or pay someone in the trading outlet to do it for you. DIY this could be similar in cost to the converters, but will surely cost more if you need to hire it out.
Actually, you’d be surprised to know that MAS Systems’ stick PCBs have incredibly good compatibility with converters. I know for a fact that any MAS stick that’s wired up for the PlayStation 2 can be used with an inPin PlayStation 2 to PlayStation 3 converter as well as the Xconverter 360 Plus PlayStation 2 to Xbox 360 converter. Both of them are sold by an SRK member by the name of laugh who although ships from Korea, gives extremely fair prices. He’s got his own webshop at http://etokki.com/ so go check it out!
Using a PS2/Dreamcast MAS stick with converters is definitely the best way to go about using good old American parts and layout on the current gen systems. Well, sans building a custom of course!
A powered hub is one that has additional power supplied to to the USB ports via a AC/DC adapter for things like USB powered HDDs, that won’t work on a regular non-powered hub.
These two at amazon seem to have good reviews, but you may find a couple at Fry’s that will work just as well.
Please let us know what one you get and the results it gives.
Id personally plug both adapters into the powered hub, as well as everything else you plan on using via USB.
Sony, not providing sufficient power to USB ports, was also a problem on the slim PS2. Why the hell did they make the same mistake twice :amazed:
Props to RoboKrikit and Ikagi-Chan for the quick response and very, very, very helpful insights and knowledge. I really appreciate you guys for chiming in as I made my decision.
I decided to bring new life to my unused DC/PS2 Mas stick and placed an fast and easy order at etokki.com for the ps2 to ps3( inpin converter) and the ps2 to 360 (xconverter 360 plus). It even already shipped out lol. This is exactly what I need, An American stick with 6 buttons, 3 straight top, 3 straight bottom, with both PS3 and 360 compatibility!!! I grew up playing the SF series on that layout and never liked playing on the slanted buttons, ball top stick, or extra buttons for no reason lol. Sorry if I disrespected anyone by that comment, its just my honest opinion…
But I have another question…now that I have an extra custom xbox 360 only MAS stick (my soon to be collecting dust or sold), can’t I just buy the Joytron Paewang Revolution stick (dual mod for ps3/360) open it up, disconnect the buttons and stick, and use the guts and connect it to my custom MAS cabinet/stick/buttons? Oh god Laugh/etokki.com, I wish you made the Joytron Paewand Revolution in an American layout…
