Very cool news. That would work on all of my sticks, even the ones I wired myself. I’ve been using this layout lately for PSX:
[] /\ L2
X O R2
It’s more of a happy coincidence since an Xbox1 needs L2/R2/Start/Select to return to the menu. I’ll pick up one of the Plus versions once I have some cash to spend.
Good news there laugh! Even though I’m running the original Xconverter 360 with my Hori Real Arcade Pro 2 SA, I haven’t been inconvenienced yet by the lack of an easy way to access the Guide button, but for others with custom sticks or whatnot, this is great news!
Just out of curiosity though, how does this new XConverter 360 Plus look? Does it still have the Guide button on the converter itself? Does it have the same form factor?
Anyone want to wager that the Xbox Magic Box is the rarest commercially made converter? I finally got a second one after wanting these for 7(?) years. Either these are really damned rare or no one wants to part with them.
I also got a second Innovation this week for Dreamcast.
The only converter I’ve yet to find is a PS1 to N64. I’ve seen these before and have been told that ToToTEK made them a while back. Let me know if you have any leads.
i have a question about using my HRAP1 on Wii to play Guilty Gear Accent Core Plus. with my current setup, i am not able to use the stick at all to move my characters or select from menus. the buttons all work though.
i have this:
HORI Real Arcade Pro Stick [Hori] http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-m-49-en-70-5w3.html
and using this converter to connect to Wii through the GC ports
Cube Joybox Pro [Mayflash] http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-g4-49-jp-70-14p.html
the same setup works fine on Tatsunoko vs. Capcom so i am confused. does the game just not use the GC port correctly?
My guess is that the adapter is mapping the stick (so the d-pad on the PCB) to a weird axis in the output. Maybe to an analog stick for one reason or another? I know PS2 GGXX requires you to select “analog = on” before you can use it in game, so if your stick were being treated as an analog stick instead of D-pad that could possibly do it. Can you try using a different controller and activating that option (if it exists)?
Saw this new adapter up at play-asia, it allows you to use your N64 controller on your Wii or Gamecube, in addition to PSX to Wii/GC if anybody is into that.
Truckasaurus, you are epic! Thanks for this heads up! I’ve SO got to find a way to test this when it comes out. Anybody know a Gamecube or Wii game which has frame display? :wonder:
