Converter Compatibility Thread

Anyone else notice the PS home button going off at random times with the Hais converter? I’m just curious if it has happened to other people. I only have one stick so I have no idea if it’s my stick causing this problem or the converter itself.

Thanks for the encouragement. I think ill look and read more about soldering and see what i can do.

kazujiro knows what hes talking about. im not confident enough to solder myself either. good thing kazujiro does though :stuck_out_tongue: can’t wait for his mods arrive so i can install them.

Such an informative thread!
Wish I had found this thread earlier…

bought three bum adapters and now I’m working on trying to get an inPin one

I bought one of these little guys from eBay:

Anyone have any information about these? I decided on this converter because I’ve got a Guitar Hero controller for the Playstation 2 that’s going to waste, and decided that I might as well bring it out of retirement when I get my PS3 fixed. A guy’s got to have other hobbies than fighting games, after all!

Also, I’m assuming that the analog button on the DualShock 2 acts as the Home button for the Playstation 3 in converters like these, right?

youre right. it arrived today and its this blue triangle looking thing with 2 ps2 slots and a usb slot with a usb cord. will test and let you guys know how it works as soon as i finish up modding my sfac.

anyone tried these?? also how do you test lag? I might bite the bullet and order these.

xconverter360 and blazepro

my bad…

I obviously live under the rock :xeye:

Does vibration support actually work when using a MadCatz 360 pad with the XConvertor 360?

2&2, by now I think you’ve already found your answer, but yes, the Xconverter 360 does in fact have vibration support when you use a PlayStation 2 controller. If you’re asking if it has rumble active on the Xbox 360 controller you use to bypass the security scheme, no it doesn’t since the Xconverter 360 does not let you use the X360 pad you used as a bypass controller through the USB port. Otherwise, wonky things would happen.

Also, I’m once again sure that anyone who cared already found out this information for themselves, but here’s some good news anyway:

The official Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Headsets work with the Xconverter 360!

I can only assume it’ll be the same way for the Blazepro and Mayflash Max Shooters as well since the official wireless headset syncs directly with the console as opposed to with the controller. So if you really need voice chat when playing online, you’ll be good to go for that if you buy a wireless headset.

Thanks for this. I’ll need to pick one up.

Great thread!

Thanks for making this! : D

kyle do you or any one know if the ps2 to dc total control plus work with ps1 ds and ps1 digital pcbs?

I received my Converter 360 adapters today.

I tried my trusty PS2 Saturn controller and I am a happy camper.

*be sure to keep the switch set to “1” because that is the setting for regular controller mapping.

Setting “2” is for racing wheels lol

Oh cool, can you test your PS3 out with this adapter and Guitar Hero 2 since it is the only version of Guitar Hero I care about. My ANTS Commando adapter will not work with my Nyko Wireless Guitar while playing Guitar Hero 2.

So i’ve been trying to decide between the Xconverter and the Blazepro converter for PS2->360 conversion. The cheapest i’ve found the Xconverter for was $25 (from laugh), where as the Blazepro i’ve found for $5. Is there any difference in functionality between the two? Or is it something else? So far, from what i’ve gathered, they both have the same features (analog button acts as home button, L2 and R2 pressure sensors act as L and R analog triggers).

personally i prefer the xconverter because it has a home button on the actual converter, and none of my ps1/2 sticks have any analog controls. besides that, i have both converters and they both perform very well.

zeetes basically hit all the important points on the head. The Xconverter 360 is far more convenient to use if you have a PlayStation 1/2 arcade stick that doesn’t have an Analog button wired up since the Xconverter 360 has the Guide button built in on the converter itself. The Blazepro, while definitively cheaper, doesn’t have such a function so you won’t be able to use the Guide button if you don’t have the Analog button wired up on your stick.

There is a workaround method for that though. If you happen to have an Xbox 360 remote like those ones Microsoft used to package in with the Xbox 360s, you can actually use the Guide button on the remote to bring up the Guide button for player 1 which is pretty convenient. But it won’t work unless you’re player 1. It won’t work if you’re player 2 or 3 or 4.

All in all though, I like the Xconverter 360 better. It’s made with Korean technology so you know you’re getting something good and I stand by our man laugh any day of the week over a basically nameless Chinese company. Besides, the Xconverter 360 simply looks a hell of a lot more awesome and snazzy than the Blazepro. Gotta love that sleek, white, official looking design!
