Yea, the easiest way to make sure it syncs correctly is to make sure a wired controller is already plugged in prior to use.
It’s funny because with a dev kit/test 360 when you plug it in, it tries to read off the USB port like it’s a USB device haha. I had to reflash my system as it was trying to rewrite/upgrade thinking it was a flash drive.
Oh nice, it’s good to hear that I didn’t mess the test up or something!
Don’t worry about the delay! Stuff happens in life, you know? Hope you’re having a nice trip. Don’t forget to keep yourself hydrated. :wonder:
Half-Ro, sorry to say, it doesn’t look like we’re going to find any decent PlayStation 3 to Xbox 360 converter solution any time in the future. Though all things considered, I’d think it’d be MUCH more useful to install an Imp and Mad Catz X360 PCB inside of a stick than to work with a converter. Considering that you’d have to lug around a wired X360 controller on top of the converter and your stick, it would probably be more of a hassle than anything, not even delving into lag issues and dropped inputs. :xeye:
Yeah, I suppose you are right. I finally have to break down and hack for the console I DONT have. Thats what I was trying to avoid but it doenst look that is possible.
Haha, yeah, I know what you’re feeling Half-Ro. When I modded my friend’s PlayStation 3 Mad Catz Arcade FightStick Tournament Edition with a Multi-Console Cthulu, RJ-45 jack mod, and an Xbox 360 FightStick PCB, he thought I was out of my mind for wanting to add X360 and Gamecube support to his stick. I told him he’d thank me later, and lo-and-behold, he did and rather quickly as well. Whenever he comes over, we have to play Street Fighter IV and BlazBlue and all that jazz on my X360 since I didn’t buy a PS3 and he’s now reflecting on his statement, saying that “Okay, this is definitely not a waste of time and it infinitely beats out using a 360 pad when I come over.” It’s definitely worth the extra work.
Seems as tho it’s only made for arcade sticks…i just want to use a ps2 pad along with the dpad…seems as tho it’s not going to work like that. Whatever, 46$ gone down the drain.
KevinSorbo, I have NO clue where you got the idea that the Xconverter 360 was exclusively used for arcade sticks. In fact, it’d probably be the hardest thing ever to try and program a converter to work with ONLY arcade sticks as opposed to working with the official first party controller.
Your PlayStation 2 DualShock 2 controllers will work perfectly fine on the Xconverter 360, with a perfect 1:1 button, D-pad, and analog stick conversion. Hell, it can even let you use the analog pressure sensitivity of the R2 and L2 buttons just like you’d be able to use them on the Left and Right Triggers on an Xbox 360 controller.
That’s definitely not a waste of $46.00. Only condition left is to make sure you’ve got a pair of wired Xbox 360 controllers to act as bypass controllers and to set the Xconverter 360 to Setting 2 and you’re good to go.
I’ve got a bunch of converters and I’m about to dual mod a digital PS1 pad into my TE (i’d rather do a dual shock PS1 but those are out of stock around here). What’s the best way to test if my converters will play nicely before I go about soldering this baby in? Just do a bunch of crap with input display on and make sure nothing gets dropped or what?
I can see that some of my converters are fine with a digital, but I’d like to test the others before I commit to it.
Clembo2021, you’ve basically got the right idea. Just plug that PlayStation 1 Digital Controller into your converters and play around in games with it.
Just tested this adapter out. It’s a PS2 to PS3 adapter. Tested it using my PS1 Dual Shock. Works fine. When tested on the “lag testor” I get 17.13 ms lag from the keyboard, and 17.15 from the adapter. Giving a .02 ms difference. Virtually no lag.
I need 2 wired XBOX 360 controllers ? cause when i put my Madcatz street fighter pad into the usb on the Xconverter 360 and then a DualShock2 ps2 pad into the appropriate port on the converter, it will only let me use select/start and the left analog. I have another madkatz (ps2’ish)dpad xbox 360 controller also but it wont even light up when i plug it into the converter, plugged it into the 360 it worked fine. Just not sure hwo to get around this. There are no troubleshooting forums for this type of stuff.
So i apologize if my anger got the best of me on my previous post, just fustrated. I should just do a forum search.
